The hotel is located in the heart of Alsancak. It has very nice cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops. Considering the temperatures of the city during the summer, the room is well equipped with AC and a fan. Transportation wise it is only 4 mins walking distance from the Alsancak Pier and 6 mins away from the train which directly takes you to the airport. It totally connects you to the whole city, from the historic market to the shopping malls., from airport to the beach at Foca. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, they are very open and appreciative if you have any comments :)

Perfect location if you are interested in the night life of Izmir, as the hotel is literally a few steps away from the cafés, bars, and restaurants. It is close to the sea shore and the main train station as well, 5 minutes walk each. Our room was quite spacious and the bed was quite large. Overall it was clean and had a nice ambience. Compared to the price, the value is quite good.

The only problem was the noise during the night. Neighbours were yelling to each other until 3-4 in the morning and it felt like they were inside our room. Don't forget to bring your earplugs otherwise it is hard to sleep.

I loved the fact that there is a cafe with very tasty seafood right next to the entrance of this hotel. Staff was friendly,and bedsheets were clean. Location is very nice, on one of the cutest streets in Alsancak.

There us no elevator in the hotel. You have to use stsirs, which may be challenging for people with limited mobility. It was also not so fun to run up with the suitcase, but the owner was very nice and helped me. The hotel overall may use some renovation, to freshen up a bit. Also we could hear our neighbours behind the wall.

I loved Hotel Balca and my stay was amazing. Everyone was really lovely and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful and considerate. From wishing me a belated happy birthday to providing bandaids and ice when I fell down and injured my leg, the hotel staff was super thoughtful. Additionally, the street the hotel is in is full of coffee shops and restaurants, so you don't have to travel far for dinner when you're tired. It's also only a 5-minute walk to a street full of shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a place to stay in Alsancak, I'd definitely recommend Hotel Balca.

The shower was a bit small, so it's not the best if you're claustrophobic. But otherwise, the bathroom was great (and clean).

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The reception is open for 24 hours. Hotel is really safe, it's full of security cameras. The bed was really comfortable. But the best thing is the location, it's close to metro and ferry. In the street next to hotel you can eat delicious mezes for a normal price. After the check out they allowed us to leave our big luggages for a whole day in the reception totally free 👍 To sum up, the quality vs price deserves 9/10. Thanks for everything!

They can be more careful about the cleaning of the pillows.

Mr. Erkut was very helpful and we loved his hospitality. Nightlife: Hotel is located in Alsancak which appeared to be famous for its nightlife. So if you’re after experiencing nightlife, I would recommend this hotel. Konak: Hotel is also in a walking distance to many places in Konak area. Karşıyaka: Karşıyaka can be easily reached by a ferry. Ferry terminal is in 5 minutes walking distance.

Not the hotel but the area itself might not be suitable for families with small kids. Not much activities for kids in this area.

- Location is perfect! - Everywhere is easy to reach by walking. Also easy to reach from/to airport with train. - Staff were very kind and helpful.

- The pipes in bathroom making very bad smell! - Internet at first day was slow and almost useless. But after one day we informed the reception, so they restarted the router and then it worked pretty better. - Electrical sockets for charging phone were a bit far from beds.

location is perfect it’s in city centre of alsancak but still peaceful enough. everything you need is in walking distance.. and the sea or boat also in few minutes. Good staff, friendly and very helpful.

for me it was good since I used the place for sleeping since I was outside the whole day. it’s not a luxury hotel to chill and relax just keep that in mind.. for what it is.. it’s perfect

I lived here for two weeks. This is a great place especially if you are visiting Izmir for the first time. The rooms are cozy and clean. The location is excellent, in the very center of Alsancak, not far from the promenade and the sea. But the best part is the people who work here. I have not met such kind people for a long time. Very special thanks goes to Erkut. I am very glad that I chose this hotel.

Great location in Alsancak close to lively neighborhood where there are lots of restaurants and pubs around. Friendly & helpful staff with the recommendations and suggestions for breakfast/coffee/pub locations. Much needed functioning air conditioning.

Not dirty per se, but better maintenance and some improvements could help.
