The Agora is a great hotel based in the middle of a busy bazaar just about 10 minutes walk from the clocktower. It is a unique hotel because it appeals to locals as well as tourists thanks to its great restaurant. There is live music every night and most afternoons, and together with its great quality and value food makes it an easy place to be based. The staff are without doubt the friendliest and most attentive we have seen in a small hotel like this. All credit to the owner and the staff who commit to making you feel special whatever you need. Thank you all.

Very little of any importance.

The Agora Old Town Hotel, was rebuilt in historical Kemeraltı, the largest open-air shopping center in the world, faithful to its 300 years history this hotel came back to life with the pride of being one of the rare buildings registered by the board of monuments in Izmir. It's a courtyard surrended by lovely rooms, you have live music and restaurant just at your door step. The historical architecture and design are just beautiful ! The boutique hotel The Agora Old Town Hotel is located on Havra Street and is next door to Smyrna Agora Ancient City, Alsancak Kordon and Konak Square so very central in Izmir. It's confortable, it's clean, the food is delicious, all that you need for some relax holidays. The staff was super lovely and helpful, I would love to go back there any time soon !!!

The live music in the restaurant area being every week days from 3pm till 5pm, and from 8pm till 10pm also on weekends, you might want to take some earplugs with you in case of some napping. Other than that my stay was perfect !!

Beautiful oasis in the middle of a market. We stayed in Room 114 and despite the previous negative reviews about the smells of the fishmarket we never noticed it and we were staying directly above it. Staff were excellent and attentive. Place was better than the pictures show. All rooms have seating on the balcony to watch the live music at night if you can't or don't want to be seated downstairs. Cakes, beers and colds drinks were all good as were the pizzas and all reasonably priced. This seems to be the place to celebrate special occasions for the locals as there were at least one party each night.

No safe in the room and fridge was in need of a deep clean. Shower could also have been hotter but that's a personal preference. It is a noisy hotel with the restaurant in the courtyard directly outside the bedrooms and the market surrounding the exterior. Didn't affect us however if you like to sleep during the day or are looking for somewhere to meditate it might not be for you.

Fabulous hotel in a great location in Izmir. The room was very comfortable and spacious. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and food in the restaurant were nice and reasonably priced. Live music daily in the afternoon and evenings which gives a pleasant atmosphere. Loads of shops and restaurants in the market but can be very persistent to draw you in especially if you have shopping bags 😃

The water in the shower was cold. Fridge in the room was not cold. One of the entrances is through the fish market so the smell can be unpleasant when walking through.

We had a great time at L'agora! We were in Izmir for only a short trip but the location was great, that we could step out into the bazaar and explore. The main room was really cool that it had a shade that would block the sun during the day and be let down to allow the breeze in during dusk. The staff were generally good but upon arrival Türker at the registration desk upgraded our room "because our baby was so cute" and we got a suite in a corner, which came with a second sitting room. It's good we did cause our 10 month old was shielded from the music that goes on from 8-11 (we would've loved it if we were just a couple). And it seemed like every time we came out of the room, Cansel took every opportunity to fawn over our little girl, play with her, and hold her for a minute or two to let us eat. These two really made the difference between a good place and a great one.

The nightly music - which would be great for other situations but with a little baby, we had to put her in our bedroom to sleep so she would be shielded by the brick walls outside, our main door, and our bedroom door, which together was able to block it. Otherwise provided a fun atmosphere, and listening to it lightly play in the sitting room was kind of romantic. Just wish I had known before I booked.

Great location at the heart of the market. Hotel has a very unique athmosphere , VERY clean, beds are VERY comfortable, A/C is very good. They have nice live music at 15:00 and than at 20:00. Music is not disturbing when in your room. staff are absolutely GREAT, VERY welcoming, smiling and doing everything they can for the customers!

Location is great during day time. At night the hotel is about the only open and active business in the market. If you want to hang out somewhere else, you need to take a taxi or walk to Konak square for the metro.

Our previous hotel canceled on us with no notice and we grabbed a last minute room here. We were very satisfied. The location is great - you are right in the Old town and on the edge of the Agora. The ancient Agora (archaeological site) is a short walk away. The hotel is built around a courtyard which is covered, or not, with a huge mechanical umbrella depending on the weather.

Call ahead before you go there to make sure you understand where to park your car. They do have an arrangement with a nearby parking lot and it's not expensive but it's good to know all of that ahead of time.

I visited many hotels in Turkey and this is one I will always remember. First of, the hotel is located in the heart of Izmir close to all landmark destinations. The room was clean and had everything you needed and more… the best part of this hotel was the staff. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and made us feel at home. They helped us with all our needs and really went beyond their obligations to help us in any shape and form. This hotel is one I will be coming back to, not only to see the beautiful bazaar, city of Izmir but also the good friends I made within the staff. Thank you guys for all your warm hospitality. Until next time!

This hotel is an oasis in the middle of the hectic market on all sides. The large courtyard space has a large parasol to keep a pleasant temperature, plus big AC units. All members of staff are very helpful and kind, and they helped us with checking in early, booking us a cab when we were leaving, and respectfully making sure we didn’t need anything else. There was live music during the afternoon, but the rooms are soundproofed very well and a nap is undisturbed. AC and Wi-Fi perfect in the room.

Not so strong as to say we didn’t like it, but it is worth considering the hotel is right in the middle of a very busy and active market. This is an authentic market with fish and meat and cheese alongside clothes and spices and the odd tourist souvenir spot. If you are at all nervous of crowds and people being too close, this is a challenging environment. It is also notable that in the evening, the market is completely closed up and makes for a slightly eerie walk back to the hotel along poorly-lit streets. Although I didn’t see or hear of anything to make me feel unsafe, I would not be comfortable as a lone female in this area after the markets are closed.

Location is perfect. The hotel is found right in the center of Izmir's old city. The hotel is close to numerous dining options and historical sites. Within a 15 to 20 minute walk, we had easy access to each of them. We requested a Turkish coffee with cake the day of our arrival, but when we wanted to pay for it, they refused and said they were giving it to us as a present instead which was a great surprise. Because we couldn't eat breakfast before our early morning return trip, we had to check out of the hotel at 5 a.m. We received an extremely tasty sandwich from them. Customer service in this hotel was beyond our expectations. All of the staff are so lovely and polite The food in the restaurant was absolutely perfect and also live music was great We'll surely return.
