Excellent room was lovely and very comfortable and nicely decorated. Everything was very clean. The staff were very chatty and friendly. The parking was perfect as was the location and I loved my view from the window looking out to the train station.

The room was on the cold side for me and I had to sleep in 2 jumpers on top of my pyjamas. It would have been nice if there was a non-dairy/plant based milk option in the room for the tea/coffee. On leaving the staff were very friendly but did not ask me if everything had been ok.

We’ve stayed a number of times and love the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Our bedroom had a really large comfortable bed, great shower and very clean. Breakfast bacon rolls were yummy!

We’d stay more often if the bar was dog friendly. It’s strange as you well behaved dogs can stay at the hotel and you can sit with them in the lobby area but you cannot take them into the public bar which is odd. Each night of our stay someone walked into the bar with a dog and was asked to leave. Real shame in this is located in a very outdoor, dog friendly part of the world. Cairngorm Hotel, please reconsider your bar policy?

Whilst the building is quite old, it is full of great character. Our room was quite spacious, our bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom well appointed for its size. We loved the way the main stairs creaked as we climbed to our room, although the rooms are particularly quiet. The real standout is the staff. Incredibly efficient, friendly and welcoming, they really make staying at Cairngorms Hotel an absolute joy. Food in the restaurant is very good, but be warned, it is very popular - first come first serve, but their wait list system works very well.

The choice in wine was a little limited.

Well appointed room, comfortable. Well serviced with coffee and complimentary shortbread. Spotlessly clean bathroom, First class breakfast and exceptionally friendly ladies serving. Good choice of menu. Eggs Benedict perfect.

Unable to book table for dinner. Waited an hour to be seated and another half hour before first course, finally eating at 8.45pm. So only ate in hotel first night. Apart from a dining room server who can only be described as flippant, overall the staff very friendly and helpful. Would particularly mention the breakfast room staff and the receptionist who was very sympathetic and efficient with a problem that arose and which was solved quickly and satisfactorily.

Travelled by car but it's directly opposite train station. Plenty of parking. Shops nearby. Restaurant evening meal with 17 of us was lovely and quick service. Downside is they don't take bookings so you have to wait in bar. Breakfast staff were lovely and chatty. Tables at breakfast are a bit cluttered. Food piping hot but we were down very early. Room price for overnight and breakfast is a bit steep.

Being told not to close the door in bar area by 1 member of staff as it was freezing. Other staff members said it was ok. So we closed it. Yes it was busy but it was like fresh air fortnight in some areas.

room was comfortable and clean, location could not be bettered as it is right in the centre of Aviemore, with the train station directly across the road and the bus stop right beside the hotel entrance. Breakfast was offered and was very good. A combination of buffet and a cooked breakfast made to order. We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel so were not disturbed by the music in the bar. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Only drawback was the hotel only has stairs so upper floors might be difficult to access if not fully able bodied.

We couldn't fault the hotel location, staff or facilities. If pushed, I'd say it would be unfortunate to get a room above the bar as I have had on previous visits. Music started around 9 and felt like it was going on for several hours. But on this trip, our room was at the back of the hotel and we were undisturbed.

Stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The whole hotel gave a real Scottish experience in terms of decor, and the breakfast selection was really good (choice of hot cooked full breakfast, cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt). Staff were friendly and our room was perfectly clean (and I’m a clean freak!) location is perfect too for exploring Aviemore and the surrounding lochs, and considering the hotel is right in the heart of Aviemore it wasn’t at all noisy during sleeping hours!

The pillows were a bit thick/high so not the comfiest, but the bed itself was really comfy. TV’s could do with a little update too to bigger screens for night time watching, but it did the job :)

The on-site restaurant is fabulous! I had lunch, dinner, and breakfast there and they were all excellent. The restaurant staff were extremely helpful.

This hotel doesn't offer a luggage locker for securing your luggage on-site before check-in or after check-out. If you are traveling without a car, you either have to haul your luggage around while walking and taking the local bus, or pay for the luggage storage locker a few blocks down the street and transport your luggage to the storage, on foot. The warm water for the faucet in the en suite bathroom was barely a trickle and hardly got warm. There is no elevator, which their website does specify so I knew in advance that I would be taking stairs. That's not a big deal for me since I was only carrying luggage up and down the 3 flights of stairs one time, but some people might really have a hard time with it.

Very conveniently located opposite the station. It has a warm and welcoming feel to it. The rooms are quite large and well equipped. Quality of food was good.

Some of the staff are quite abrupt (although others very friendly) but my main gripe is that the hotel is described as dog friendly yet the dogs are allowed only in the rooms and the lobby. I quite understand that they should not go into the restaurant but the bar is large and there could easily be an area where they can join their owners. There is live music most nights which is fine, but it is clearly audible at least across the first floor of bedrooms and doesn’t stop until 11pm.

Breakfast exceptionally good, our room was good except bathroom which was very cramped, however I understand there are are limitations due to age of property .We ate dinner in Hotel most nights as we enjoyed the food.I think the main issue

I think our main issue was the bathroom and a walkin shower instead of bath would have improved the tight space. We knew the two flights of stairs would be a challenge due to knee problems but we managed it slowly!
