Small, quiet but really well maintained & located Armadillo Glamping Pods & B&B site in Aviemore. 4 nights in a cosy Armadillo Pod is probably similar to staying in a 2 berth motorhome with small freeview TV, small fridge, small washing sink & worktop with a kettle, neat wet room shower, loo & basin, clothes hanging cupboard & large, spacious under-bed drawers. The 4 pods had use of a separate 'Bothy' with communal table & chairs, worktop washing up sink, kettle, microwave, 2 ring hot-plates, hot water boiler tap, loads of cooking pans, utensils, plates & bowls plus shelves of fictional & factual books, many local maps, pamphlets & guides of the area as well as board games for those wet days indoors. Used it daily, good to meet other great guests, all of whom were foreign during our stay & enjoying their visit to Scotland & The Cairngorms. Hosts are very welcoming, accommodating & knowledgeable of the area.

Where to start with this question..... Ken & Gill..... natural exceptional hosts, friendly, chatty. We only stayed 2 days and left feeling like we were old friends! The attention to detail on the entire site is fabulous. Lots of little touches that made all the difference. The breakfast was outstanding, perfectly cooked, lots of choice. The electric car charger was a nice surprise, there's chargers in Aviemore but to be able to plug in overnight was a great bonus. The bothy is great, a lovely place to eat our tea and chill out. The location was perfect, just a short stroll into the centre of Aviemore We will definitely be coming back.
Really nothing to complain about. It was all perfect

Eriskay was one of the best places we stayed over our 3 weeks in Scotland! Ken and Jill were both inspiring, enthusiastic, and really fun hosts. The pods were immaculate and well stocked. The bed was especially comfortable, plugs were available your devices, a specialized coffee maker at hand, and both good lighting and privacy window shades inside. We had a grill available to us next to our pod and all the kitchen equipment you could use located was available in a common-area Brothy. This inviting Brothy was a really great area for meeting and getting to know other guests as well, which is always one of the more enjoyable aspects of travel. If you don't want to make your AM breakfast here, then don't hesitate to enjoy their home-cooked Scottish breakfast with the most amazing fresh baked goodies made by Jill herself. Ken went over the top in making sure we were satisfied with every little facet of our stay. Excellent location; minutes from Cairngorm hikes, multiple options for in-town supplies, coffee houses, etc.
Be aware that the shower is quite small and contained within the toilet area. This wasn't a problem for us (so not really a "don't like" since it's very practical), but for larger people, may be difficult to negotiate showering. It got a bit "steamy" inside when damp or raining due to how airtight the pods are; again not a "don't like", but something, again, to be aware of as you may need to leave the door open for a while. That said, it never got cold inside; always quite comfy in fact.

We spent 4 nights in one of the glamping pods. The use of space inside the pods is great and for a glamping pod you really have everything you need and more including a toilet and shower. Our hosts were fantastic and welcoming, Ken is a wonderful character and it felt like staying with family. The pods were perfect for our stay with everything we needed. Loads of extra facilities in the communal bothy right next to the pods. The location is perfect walking distance just around the corner from Aviemore Main Street and plenty restaurants and pubs nearby. Breakfast was fantastic value for money and the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever had! If I'm ever heading back to Aviemore this is where I will stay.
Nothing at all not to like!

We got a fabulously warm welcome even after a severe delay on our train meant that we arrived late at night. The hosts Ken & Gill are truly wonderful & and can not do enough to make your stay feel like home away from home. The Pod is heated and cosy. The constant hot water from the pressure shower is a luxury for glamping. The amenities in the Pod are spot on, modern coffee making machine, kettle, fridge, a Bluetooth speaker for your music, a TV, plenty of hanging space...a real tardis! Ken & Gill supply a constant flow of purified water, and replace tea/coffee, in fact whatever is needed is no trouble at all. We opted for breakfast with them. There is a varied menu, and as a vegan, I was very well catered for. The food served was well thought out and delicious. The vegan haggis was the best! We enjoyed the company of our hosts & their animal friends and Ken's storytelling. There is a bothy for shared use with other pod dwellers, which has full cooking facilities, a dining table & lots of games & books. I imagine this would be even more sociable in warmer weather with the fire pit outside. We would definitely stay again without hesitation.
I had to think long and hard about this, and I still couldn't think of anything I didn't like.

The moment I arrived, I was made to feel so welcome and was able to settle in really quickly! I was in the main building and it was a warm and cozy place to be, especially after a long cold day on the mountain. A beautiful location, allowing you to go into Aviemore easily in the evening for a stroll, a drink or dinner. The facilities on site were great too, allowing me to store my food for each day and a place to dry clothes if anything was wet. Thanks so much to both Ken and Gill for being so welcoming and accomodating!
Nothing! It was a great stay! Wish I'd been able to set off later in the morning so that I could enjoy the breakfast! From what I saw, it looked really nice!

Staying in a glamping pod is a kind of adventure, but pod's have almost all, if not more, than good hotel room. You just need to be a little smart as people designed it. Pods are cosy and well equipped. If something is not there, you will find it in the boothy or common room. Place is located in a side of the main road, so it's calm and silent. You can easily walk to all the shops. Owners are very friendly and helpful. You can feel like in your own yard! Highly recommended as a base to explore Cairngorms.
No big issues. Keep it up!

Ken and Gill are excellent hosts & made us feel welcome from the minute we stepped out of the car. The glamping pods are amazing and are spotlessly clean - you have everything you need in there, and more. Although we did not use the bothy this time, it is something we would use on future stays. Breakfast was plentiful and amazing, shame we only had time to fit one breakfast in during our stay! The property is in a quiet location, just off the main road; the shops and restaurants are easily accessible. Stay here - you will not be disappointed. Don't forget to say hello to princess pug who will also give you a great welcome :) We will definitely be back.
Can't think of a single thing.

The location was excellent very close to the Town centre and the Cairngorms skiing facilities. We were greeted by Ken who was a friendly and fun individual. Ken explained the layout of the pod and there was even a coffee machine and complimentary basket full of goodies like biscuits, milk and coffee capsules etc. We were introduced to Ken's lovely wife later and she again showed similar qualities that immediately made you feel welcome. Her breakfasts are excellent quality and well worth the supplementary. All in all I couldn't fault the experience as it exceeded our expectations. In my experience It's rare that you get service and comfort that justifies the price of a short break. However this is one experience that made my partner and I wanting to return to enjoy the overall experience again. Which we will.
Location, hosts and service.

I loved how homely this felt! It was so cosy, and warm in the pod and Ken and Gill where so caring and kind! The breakfast in the mornings where delicious, Gill is a wonderful cook! And Ken really goes above and beyond to ensure his guests are comfortable, know how everything works and make sure you have a good idea of how to get here and there in Aviemore! He gave me great advice and suggestions on where to go and what to do, and omg their animals are adorable!!! I loved every minute of my stay with Ken and Gill in the pod it was so lovely I was actually sad to leave for the next part of my journey! The coffee machine inside the pod was also such a bonus! I really loved that, and the cookies that where provided too where delicious! I really did love every single thing about this place!
Nothing! Everything was really great and really enjoyable! Ken and Gill were 2 of the nicest people I’ve ever met! It’s not often that you can’t think of one single bad, or not to standard thing when reflecting on your stay in any accommodation. I really can’t think of one single thing I didn’t appreciate or enjoy about this stay.
