Great location to access Newark town centre. Free car park facilities. Secure access. Quiet considering it was above the village pub and despite being on a main road, the noise was barely noticeable. Having great flooring also meant you didn’t hear anything in the public bar below. Good phone/wifi signal. Lots of light and a full length mirror was a bonus. Lovely spacious bathroom and shower with plenty of hot water. Heater was great when it got chilly. Having a fan also in the room was a bonus. Loved that we had access to an iron and ironing board as well. Fridge was decent size as we brought our own food.

There was a problem with the tv the night we arrived and there were no cups to have hot drinks in the cupboards. Contact made with Daniel who came out the next morning to supply mugs and spent some time fixing the tv, including going back out to purchase a new arial which he fixed and ensured all was working well, so was very grateful. The 2 bedside cabinets and hanging area for clothes all need attention, they are all coming loose and unstable. One of the twin beds was very creaky and although fairly comfy, would benefit from a topper?

Location is ideal for the showground and the A1 and the hosts are friendly and super helpful. Everything works how they say it will - which isn't always the case with some other properties - the key codes work and they are good people basically!

Nothing to do with Plough Retreat but the pub below could sort out their kitchen door that bangs every time a waiter goes in and out of the kitchen throughout service! Maybe a bit of WD40 perhaps? Not the fault of the Plough Retreat I hasten to add.

Comfortable and clean facilities in a perfect location for events at Newark Showground. Entry to the studio was easy with information provided. We didn't have to contact anyone, which suited us. We were easily able to pop back when required from the event. Would book again if attending the Showground.

We would have found a couple of dinner plates useful.

I liked the modern look and it was clean. I liked the fact that there was very little noise from the pub below us. We had a lovely meal too

The sofa bed wasn't very comfortable and the toilet area was a bit on the small side Also, tv needs a fire stick or something for more choice on the channels

I wasn't expecting an apartment which was a bonus - I just thought it was a bedroom. The Plough Inn below did a lovely dinner at very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend both the pub for its food and the apartment.

Slightly odd that the loo was separate from the shower although OK with that. Main problem was a motion sensor light which meant that it lit up the bedroom at night disturbing my partner as it was a sort of stable door arrangement. It was also an extremely bright light for the middle of the night.

Excellent location and room, arrived late and left early so can't comment on staff or pub but arrival and check in was easy.

Little but noisy from the pub below but not really bad, we did stay on a Friday so prob noisier than most days.

Location and facilities met all requirements. Bed was really comfy.

Would benefit from new pillows and kitchen equipment.

The food was amazing. Best pub food we have had. Menu had a great selection. The staff were very helpful. Accomodation was nice and comfortable. Overall lovely stay would stay again and would recommend.

I liked everything about this room. It was clean and tidy when we first arrived, the bed was super comfortable and it was a lovely place to stay on our weekend visit to Newark Showground's RetroFestival

There wasn't anything I didn't like. All of it was great.

The rooms are self-contained, above a pub, free parking.

Nothing to dislike, it worked well for Newark motorhome show.
