family break at The Olde Barn Hotel a return visit probably says it all we stayed one night at the Olde Barn as a family break with our daughter and family having stayed previously with a group of friends we had two rooms - a double and a family room where the hotel kindly provided travel cots for the two year old twins Bothe rooms were warm spacious well equipped and very comfortable as part of the stay we were able to use the hotel pool before dinner then again after breakfast before we left we ate Dinner at the hotel in the evening taking advantage of a satisfying and excellent value meal deal for the four of us and a good selection on the children's menu followed by ice cream breakfast was again excellent with an ample selection to please all including the two year old who likes two wheaterbix and the other twin who went for the sausage not to leave out the five year old practicing for the French trip with a croissant on the way down to the hotel we call at Robin hood tree - the story being a source of fascination to the five year old then very locally on departure we spent the day at Belton house an excellent choice for the family with a wonderful play area complete with train followed by the Maze and easter egg trail ( with a real easter egg on completion ) - Perfect , until rain stopped play the hotel has a large and safe car park

The staff were extremely accommodating. They were all lovely and friendly. The chief was able to provide me with another meat option to pork (which I cannot eat). The facilities available in the fitness centre and spa were more than adequate for a weekend break.

The variety of the Breakfast offering was a bit disappointing. When one of the hot dishes runs out, they do not refill for the remainder of the 3-hour breakfast period. Best get in there early if you want a bit of all the hot food on offer.

Staff were all beyond friendly which is rare these days and it was much appreciated. This goes for the reception staff,bartenders,cleaners and waitresses. Thank you. Breakfast was great and all in all we had a great stay. We sadly didn't get to use many of the facilities due to attending a wedding so I am unable to comment on the pool area etc.

The room had a fairly old I belive single glazed window and it was an extremely windy evening so it was very hard to sleep due to the wind noises which was a shame. The weather of course is not the hotels fault but the windows sadly did cause an issue with being able to get a good nights sleep

Last minute booking for business. Room was comfortable and good size with a huge bathroom. Evening meal although not a huge menu was really enjoyable - restaurant staff were very attentive especially Lexi. Buffet breakfast the next morning was plentiful with huge range of choice, decent fresh coffee and juice.

That I wasn't prepared and able to use the spa. I would use again if my usual hotel when visiting my head office (which is nearer to my offices) is unable to offer me a room again.

Room was clean and comfortable and the added extras of toiletries the bath rock salts and biscuits nice. The location was perfect for us to visit the Xmas trail at Belton House.

Downside a wedding was going on on the Sat so the main areas chaotic and far to busy for other hotel guests to use and even though messaged in advance the festive afternoon tea was unavailable only sandwiches and cake and tea no wanted the magic of Xmas. One of the breakfast staff when advised the coffee was freezing cold ignored me and did nothing about it. Had to ask the lady who had black hair and small who was so polite and apologetic and did it straight away. The other lady definitely needs to be like this second lady and needs a customer service course not the face when you ask for what should have been hot coffee!!

The staff were amazing the girls on reception, Adina and Hannah were so helpful nothing was too much trouble

The kitchen staff in the bar were a disappointment. 1st night, our meals came out 15 minutes apart so mine was cold when my companions meal arrived at the table. We mentioned it to reception the next day as we were eating at a different restaurant so we were given a complimentary drink. Next night we decided to eat in the Bar...... they got our order wrong 😕.

What a great stay at The Old Barn Hotel. Our room was just what we expected, very comfortable with everything we needed. The staff were so friendly and thoughtful, helping my disabled mum find a comfortable chair and being generally polite and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

The disabled loft worked but the door at the top did not shut unless someone outside pushed it meaning it needed two people to work it. Not a problem for us as we were a group of three but something to bear in mind if using it when travelling alone.

Location was good, only 10 mins from Grantham Hospital. It's a pet friendly hotel which was ideal as we ended up having to bring our two small dogs - also plentry of space to walk them. Easy access to our room on the 1st floor as there was a disabled lift and a wheelchair available - my partner can't walk far so this was ideal. Room was clean, tidy and nice and quiet so had a decent night's sleep. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that.

The mattress could have been better - not the most comfortable.

Customer service is excellent at this great hotel. From the moment you arrive to the moment I left, I felt really well looked after. I loved visiting the pool and saunas in the morning which were much appreciated. I had a well appointed, clean room. I was only there for one night but would return and would recommend to other travellers, even if you have to go out of your way to get there.

My room was above the bins and food delivery area of the hotel. No smell or excessive noise but not ideal. They also use a mass catering model to produce the evening meal. I prefer food cooked for me. The breakfast was good but this was a buffet type breakfast so again, cooking for the masses.

Hotel itself was a bit dated. Our room was miles away from reception (just how I like it) with facilities that would make it accessible for those who cannot climb stairs. The room was also quite dated in its decor but had quite a nice foor poster bed which frankly was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in a hotel. Shower pressure was great the following day. Coffee facilities in the room were acceptable.

The bathroom was a semi wet room type thing and so got water everywhere when showering. Would be better off with a shower curtain/door or something to direct the water. View was crap - a disused rear car park and some bins with just lots of fields beyond. Did mean however we could open up the window (1st floor) to get some fresh air though (very hot summer evening)
