The room was nice and large with 2 double beds a settee a table with glass on and a mirror also tea and coffee making facilities, this was room 2 on first floor, above the restaurant 😀, The bar staff was friendly and welcoming but we are known as stay here regularly on visiting family and grandchildren. Location is good for visiting family also not far from livingstone centre, a bus ride from Edinburgh and not far from train station in Uphall.

The downside to our stay is that the tv in the room only had 5 channels which also had no radio stations on, so could only watch either BBC1,BBC2,ITV,CHANNEL 4 OR CHANNEL 5, just like in the 1980s lol so watched glastonbury concert all night.

We booked the hotel due to its name, and we are also OATRIDGE . I told them we wanted to stay there as it was our 20th anniversary. Upon arrival, there was a complimentary bottle of fizz, card, and helium balloon. Such a thoughtful gesture. The staff were so friendly and the restaurant food was outstanding. Best meal I have had in a long time. Really large room and great comfortable beds. Crisp clean linen. Can't believe it's only a 2 star.

The only negative comment would be the noise from above our room. You could hear people walking quite loudly, but the next night I bought ear plugs and slept really well.

We booked the hotel because our name is also Oatridge . We were visiting Edinburgh for our 20th wedding anniversary and when we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of fizz, a card and a balloon for us. So thoughtful. The bedroom.was huge and very clean . The bed was also very comfortable. The food in the restaurant is exceptional. We were amazed. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and I will definitely return.

This is an amazing hotel for the price. If I had to nit pick it would only be the noise from above our bedroom. Apart from that excellent.

Comfy room with great restaurant... best steak pie EVER! A nice blend of classical inn with modern facilities. Very friendly staff.

The pub is "THE place to be in Uphall on a Saturday night and if you want to see Scots partying like Scots can, then there's a free show to be had. But the party on a Saturday night will be noisy until the wee hours, so there's that. My room had a "private bath" across the hall. The water pressure on the 3rd floor was low. But hey, it's a classic hotel with very friendly staff and I enjoyed my stay.

The staff was friendly and pleasant. The hotel has all been refurbished, the rooms are now an electronic fob instead of a key. The rooms are nice and spacious with a large screen tv coffee and tea facilities in room.. The restaurant has also been refurbished and the menu updated, You also have a key for the front door so no need to ring a porter or bell for entry after closing hours of bar. Bar is open till 00.30 so you can enjoy time in the bar or you can drink in your room. It is also close to local amenities like corner shops, scotmid convenience store and a fish shop at side of pup open till 00.30, Price is nice and fair not too dear.

The only downside is that they no longer serve breakfast in the restaurant so it is room only.

I actually booked this hotel to stay a fortnight earlier but my wife was ill on the day of travel, We cancelled but could not rebook or get a refund, unhappy. Ryanair rebooked us for a fortnight later and we decided to give Oatridge a second chance. We were very happy we did. Staff lovely, Room 8 on top floor large and comfortable but mind your head, it's in the eaves, Cracking bar, well kept Guinness and reasonable prices. Tuesday evening is Tapas night, really good and more than plenty, swiftly served. Free parking and fifteen minutes from Edinburgh airport.

This was a very comfortable hotel even though the location is not to everyone's taste, being outside the city. We chose it for proximity to route south. The staff were lovely. Food in the bar/restaurant was good. Proper home-cooked pie! The hotel is a budget stay for us and very good value. The beds were extremely comfortable with a proper amount of pillows! It's a clean, no frills accommodation, but far better than what you would expect for the price.

The rooms have a shower and little sink inside the room and the toilet in the corridor outside the room, though the toilet is dedicated to only this room and you get the key to it. The room was very comfortable, small, but had everything that may be needed for a night's stay: a kettle, tea and instant coffee. Everything in the room looks new and clean. We were a couple and I had to order two rooms as they were marked as with single beds for one person. In reality the beds were wide and there were two pillows on them, so we slept in one room and used only the shower in another. Very good location to spend a night before the flight. Easy to find, park the car, there are a couple of small shops and places to eat around.

The ventilation in the shower is not so great, you have to open the window to get rid of the excess humidity in the room. The bed was too soft and creaks a little bit. The window opens to the street, but since it's a small town, it's not very busy at night.

The first room i was offered was not suitable to my physical needs so they moved me to a very spacious room with everything I needed. Staff were very accommodating. had to wait a while to move my car into a parking space as the restaurant and bar were very busy, but again staff very helpful. Food in restaurant and atmosphere very good.

A little noisy out side early hours of the morning with youths shouting, but this isnt something the hotel had any control over.

The food was phenomenal! The steak and the chicken sandwich were tender and so tasty. The toffee sticky pudding is just too good to describe. 💞 Elegant restaurant, very impressive. The room was large and very clean. Staff helpful and super nice.Small glitch when we arrived about our payment through PayPal, easily fixed with a phone call. Will absolutely stay and eat there when we come back!

They maybe could update their payment system to avoid misunderstandings with payment processes. But, to be fair, part of the charm of the place is that it is a quaint country inn. It was also during the King's coronation, I suppose many employees took time off to celebrate.
