Staying at The Coach House (Ratho Park Steading) was to me like staying in an old manor home - which I believe it was at one time. Dannii and her husband have done a splendid job restoring it and the rooms we had were superior in every way. Great bed, great bath & shower, great space! And the grounds are magnificent, lending themselves to the imagination of a different time. Breakfast was also more than decent with a delicious variety of fresh fruits, breads and pastries, charcuterie and a good coffee machine which makes all manner of hot beverages.

This property is quite a distance from the center of the action in Edinburgh and the ride costs between 20 and 40 GBP, depending on the time of day and type of service (Uber, taxi, etc.) Having said that, I will say WORTH IT! Yes, worth every pence!

Of our 2 weeks in Scotland the Coach House had to be our favorite B&B we stayed at. It's an 1826 stable that has been remodeled to a first-class accommodation, that has superb amenities. It's also surrounded by a beautiful golf course and is close to the airport. The breakfast was excellent. The hostess Danii was very warm and helpful. The airline had "misplaced" our luggage and she and her husband even provided us with jackets to walk to The Bridge Pub for dinner. Of all our travels this is one of the most memorable stays we've experienced. I highly recommend the Coach House

The property was gorgeous - well laid out and felt very secure. We were in the Courtyard Room which was very comfortable and had everything we could need. The Den where we had breakfast and could relax, was lovely and spacious. Everything had been thought through in great detail for the continental breakfast. The setting right next to the golf course was also gorgeous. It was set in a great location to get to the tram stop at Ingleston and a short journey from there on the tram into Edinburgh. Dannii and her family were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. 🤩 Dannii gave us suggestions where to eat locally and in Edinburgh and also kept in touch with us throughout our visit making sure we were ok for everything. Fabulous place and lovely family. If we are ever back thinking about coming to Edinburgh again, you will be first on our list to book!

Nothing to dislike 😊

It was beautiful inside and outside. It had a lovely garden and the room was perfect. We also loved the den which had everything we needed. Dannie and Andrew were so kind and friendly, nothing was too much and it was lovely to get to know them during our stay. We also met Daniella who made up the room beautifully, she was also very kind and friendly. A perfect example of Scottish hospitality. We were staying for the Taylor Swift concert and spent some time in the city also. It was easy enough to get an Uber to the tram station at Ingleston and then we were quickly in the centre. This has been my favourite visit to Scotland so far

We loved everything about our stay and will definitely be back! Dannii gave us a very warm welcome and both she and her husband Andrew were wonderful to talk with during our stay. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated with everything we could ever need. We had to get off to an early start both mornings that we stayed there and Dannii made sure everything was available so we could eat an early breakfast which was so nice. This was the last place we stayed before our trip back home and it was very special to end our trip at this beautiful and charming place!

Dannii & Andrew were absolutely fantastic hosts, even kept in touch when we were in town with suggestions for things to do, restaurants and bars etc, an absolutely lovely touch 🙂 The location of their property is ideal if you are looking for a night or two in Edinburgh, Transport link are great into the city and only a 10 minute drive to the Tram / Bus station! Breakfast was continental however that suited us fine as everything was there that we needed, Dannii has also asked us on check in if we would like anything in particular as that could be arranged for us. Loved our room, spotless and very welcoming. Lovely surprise to find top notch local shower and hair products for us to use. There is also a lovely pool table in the communal area which we certainly enjoyed a few games on.

Room took a wee while to heat up due to the type of heating, usually when I’ve stayed in places with this, hosts have turned the heating on prior to arrival, maybe worth doing for future guests🙂

Beautiful setting, the room is tastefully decorated, light & bright & spotless. The breakfast area overlooking the courtyard is a great space to start your day & there was a variety of food to enjoy with noteworthy coffee. However, what truly made my stay memorable was the warm and welcoming host, Dannii. From the moment I arrived, she made me feel right at home. Her genuine hospitality and attention to detail were truly exceptional. She was always ready to offer recommendations and ensure that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

Lovely old building beautifully bought back to life with care and consideration to what it was like years ago. Would be my dream home .

Only one downside. Being of elderly age one often needs to use the bathroom during the night . Sometimes you need to put the light on but it illuminates a good part of the bedroom disturbing anyone else in bed. Also no socket adjacent to mirror if you want to use hairdryer .

We just loved absolutely everything about this property… cannot fault it one bit. Dannii is a delightful and consummate host and the room ( Canal Room) was very spacious, beautifully decorated and appointed, spotlessly clean and everything one needs is supplied, including little extras and luxury ( Aesop) toiletries. The king size bed was super comfortable too. The drive through next door golf club provides a picturesque way to access this tranquil property.

Nothing!! Some may consider it a bit remote from central Edinburgh but there is a “ park and ride” nearby which services a great and speedy tram service to the city and all day parking is free. There is also a bus service which we did not use.

We absolutely loved our stay. We had only booked this 2 weeks before travelling so we were very lucky to stay here as someone else had cancelled. We cannot fault anything, Danni went over and above to make our stay perfect. We arrived very late in the evening and she made sure she still welcomed us and helped us find our way from the airport. The accommodation is stunning and extremely comfortable. If only we could have stayed longer..

Nothing to dislike.
