Very comfortable large corner room with large double bed ( twin beds locked together) Very welcoming staff especially in the restaurant with Carol, Alison and the rest of the team Plenty of choice at breakfast and hot food arrived hot !

Being woken two mornings on the trot with fire alarm at 6 am and 5.30 am! It had gone off the previous night at 11:30 due to one couple sterilising baby bottles!!!! and then again the following morning !!! But then happened again the following morning at 5:30 which was put down to faulty alarm Had to ask for second hand towel as only provided with one

The best thing about the Victoria Hotel was the excellent service. The dining room was always busy and yet it was quick and easy to order at the bar and food came quickly - and was very good. Room was clean and spacious and we watched and amazon display of housemartins and swallows from our bedroom window. Location is perfect for the town.

The bathroom is in desperate need of a refurb and not fitting with the price of the room. Shower was awkward to get in and out, or to stand in, and not great. Easy to hit your head on the sloping roof sections too. It's an awkward space, I hope a redesign (promised at the end of season) can solve this for future guests

Excellent location. Lovely friendly staff. We had a castle view room which was a good move for the sunrise alone! Food was very nice. Parking was easy, although barrier should be coded for exit also.

The four-poster bed was a bit "ikea"... thought we were getting something a bit more traditional. And the end post cut the view of the TV in half!! The floorboards creak so badly that every time someone moved in the room next door it woke us up. Some of the furniture is a bit tired, saggy armchair etc. But these are very minor moans!! It is a great hotel and we'd go again.

Room very large and quiet considering it overlooked the road and outside dining' just a problem when our windows were open with smoke drifting up' Breakfast both Continental and English very good and nicely presented and served. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional all 5 nights we were there we never thought of going out at all every meal was such a very high standard and quality. The Staff particularly Amanda Ruth Carole and Jane cared for us beautifully we felt more like family than just clients. It was our first vist to Northumberland and if we return it would always be to the Victoria. Thank you so very much for everything and for the lovely memories we have brought home with us

All I can say is SEE THE ABOVE

The hotel is in a lovely location, only ten minutes stroll from Bamburgh Castle, one of our target destinations. The welcome at reception was lovely. On-street parking was free, but a little busy. We had to park further away than was comfortable with our luggage. The level of décor was really clean and fresh throughout. Breakfast was really good.

The room was very compact and the ceilings were low and we we had to be careful in bed that we didn't sit up too high and bang our heads. In the toilet I couldn't stand up to use the loo in the usual way. Overall it was just a little too compact for us.

Location great, hotel lovely and well maintained with a beautiful bar and breakfast area. The rooms were great and very comfortable, cosy side but definitely value for money. The shower was amazing. Breakfast wasn't the best but was still OK, had more fat than bacon and wasn't very warm but the lady did bring more bacon which was nicer. It didn't distract from an amazing stay. Also cappuccino was lovely. The staff we spoke to really went out of their way to help with an extra duvet, booking a taxi, offering advice and answering any questions we had. They were fantastic. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to stay.

Parking can be tricky on the main street but they do have a car park which apparently had plenty of spaces we just didn't go there. So no issues at all from us.

Wonderful traditional hotel that has been tastefully updated. It’s a great location, close to Bamburgh castle & the beach & only a few miles from Seahouses to take one of the many boat tours to the Farne Islands. This was my main reason for visiting. The rooms are comfortable & have everything you need, including lots of power sockets next to mirrors! Very important to ladies! It was a lovely surprise to have a bath too - so many hotels just have showers these days. The staff were all a credit to the hotel, friendly & chatty to all the guests. They seemed genuinely interested in their guests. The breakfast was a buffet style for cereal & toast etc then hot breakfasts cooked to order. There was a great choice, including smoked salmon options which were delicious.

There isn’t really anything. Just bear in mind that if you go to bed early there will be people leaving the bar & restaurant late in the evening so there may be a bit of noise at this time. There are also a lot of stairs & no lift, so if you struggle then let the hotel know that you need a lower floor room.

Beautiful large room with a stunning view of the castle. Comfortable bed. 2 comfy armchairs but a little lowdown for older people to get out of 🫢 The weather was warm whilst we were there, but the room could be cold in I would imagine, as the wind whistled through the bathroom window and the bedroom door was quite ill fitting and rattled with the draught. The staff were wonderful. All very friendly and helpful Breakfast was good first 2 mornings but then a delivery failed to turn up meaning items such as fresh fruit and yogurts were missing from the buffet table. However the freshly cooked to order hot breakfasts were still available. Bar/restaurant menu for lunch and dinner had plenty of choice and was excellent quality. Great location from which to explore Northumberland and Scottish borders.

Delivery failure limiting breakfast buffet choice a little .but still lots on offer

The room was comfortable with a small wardrobe, tea and coffee facilities and the bathroom had a large shower. The breakfast was very generous and all of the staff were very welcoming and polite and couldn’t do enough to help. The hotel is in a great location for visits to the castle and walks along the beach etc. You can also use the spa/ocean club facilities in Seahouses a couple of miles away which was useful to be able to visit in poor weather . We were in room 29 which was at the back of the hotel with quite a lot of early morning noise from bin men and also noise from the room above which was a laundry/utility area I think so maybe rooms in the main section of the hotel would be quieter. There is a pub in the hotel and a restaurant in the hotel as well. There is free parking about 100 metres from the hotel.

A lovely historic hotel with modern facilities. Fabulous view of the castle from the room. The staff are cheerful and helpful making an easy stay. The bar and breakfast facilities are superb with buffet continental plus full English breakfast available for the included breakfast. The dining area is under a conservatory roof and was a delight. Easy walk to the beach and castle with shirt drive to Holy Island. EV charging sites available in nearby castle carpark. Highly recommended thanks

Loud music started at 7am and seemed to be from the kitchen area. But not confirmed.
