The host and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was cooked and presented well and I wasn't overfaced with food. There were plenty of cereal options too. I liked the idea of being able to eat my own food in the dining room in the evening using the plates/glasses and cutlery. The room was clean and tidy and had a lovely tea tray of drinks and biscuits. The small fridge in the room was a good idea and very quiet. The key system for the doors worked well. Although I didn't use them, there was a good selection of reading books on the landing. I liked the idea of having the QR code for the tide times for Lindisfarne. The town was a less than 5 minute walk away so you could leave your car at the B&B.
Just my own little quirk, but I didn't like sitting in the middle of the room as a single guest. The room name was placed on the table so that is why I sat there, but it wouldn't have been my choice.

We were made to feel welcome - from the point of booking our stay - informative emails from our hosts, David & Gareth. During our stay we felt that we could ask for whatever we needed and nothing was too much trouble - often Gareth anticipated our needs in advance. This was our second visit to Holly Trees - we would love to come back again. Thank you again David, Gareth, Paula & anyone we may have left out. We have fallen in love with Holly Trees & Seahouses! Fabulous hosts, great place to stay, locals wonderful & stunning part of the country!
Honestly nothing - except I'm sure Stephen would want me to say Could you consider bringing back the complementary sweets & biscuits please? 😂

The location is excellent for Seahouses - a couple of minutes and you're on the seafront, which is lovely on one of the best coasts Britain has to offer - and the starting point for boat trips to the Farne Islands. - yet the road itself is very quiet. The owners are tremendous - they could not do more to help guests. The place is very clean - recently decorated too by the looks of it - and the breakfast is very good and freshly cooked. Free (street) parking too - that's bucking the trend.
Nothing I can think of. Getting a taxi if you wanted to go anywhere on the Sunday was a little challenging.

We are so grateful to have found Holly Trees for the duration of our stay. We will definitely be returning when we visit next. From host, accommodation, breakfast and location - we cannot find fault! Everything you could want is within walking distance. We enjoyed a sunset cruise from the harbour, explored Bamburgh castle during the day and returned to the beach to watch the sunset and enjoyed works with fantastic scenery at every turn. The breakfast at Holly Trees was absolutely delicious and set our days up perfectly! The host has a wealth of knowledge about the area. Nothing felt like too much trouble!
Cannot find fault!

Excellent breakfast - good range of cereals and very tasty cooked breakfast. Small silent fridge in the room with bottle of water already chilled - and topped up for the second day - and room for some of our provisions. Plates and cutlery provided in the breakfast room for eating takeaway meals. Friendly hosts - only met Gareth - who was able to advise re walks. Conveniently situated for local shops and walks.
Maybe one slightly softer pillow? I know many people like firm pillows!

Convenient venue for access to town. Also amenities locally. Delicious breakfast. Friendly staff. Light airy room. Our own fridge for items stored in our room. Good selection of tea & coffee in our room. We didn’t use but cutlery & crokery availability should we bring in something to eat.
Hand Basin in en-suite very tiny, water inclined to splash over. Towels not changed all week, but maybe we had to ask for this, which we didn’t. Curtains very stiff to open and close and quite awkward as over bed. Breakfast time did not vary, even at weekend

The proprietors had obviously put a lot of thought into designing their rooms and everything was thought of and the room was very comfortable. They were happy to make the dining room available for eating take away food. The breakfast was very good with an excellent menu available.
The only slight improvements we could think of were a bigger sink in the bathroom (the small one is hardly big enough to wash your hands) and we would have preferred a king size duvet.

Excellent location in a quiet road but within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, harbour, etc. The welcome was friendly and chatty and this atmosphere continued for the whole of our stay. Parking on the street was easy and the area felt safe. Breakfast was of good quality and cooked to order.
The room and particularly the bathroom were a little small but there was plenty of light, a pleasant outlook so nothing to complain about!

The host were lovely, layout of the property was really nice. Would defiantly stay here again if in the area. Breakfast was really good. Yum yum.. was lovely chatting with the other guest at breakfast time. Overall lovely stay and place. Great location 3 minute walk from the beach.
We had the back room which was really hot when we got to our room on the first day however there was a fan so that was on when we went back to our room in the evenings and when we went to sleep. Room was a good size. Shower cubicle was on the small side was quiet funny really as we both had to walk into the shower sideways lol 😂 (obviously at seperate times). But at the end of the day this didnt spoil our stay. Breakfast was from 8am till 9am only, so it would of been nice to have 8am -9.30 or 9.45am just so we could have a lay in. But again this is very minor. Was a lovely place and lovely stay

A group of four of us stayed at the Holly Trees for two nights B&B. 10th to 12th June 2023. In three rooms. All the rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable, nice little touches of fresh milk in the rooms and water in the silent fridge. Breakfast for all our party was excellent, good quality ingredients and cooked and served professionally. Gareth and Paula front of house could not do more to help us in every way, and David in the background was also good. Keep up the good work and thank you all. We will definitely return to Holly Trees next time we visit Seahouses. The property is excellent value and a really nice place to stay.
