The room we stayed in had a four poster bed for a feeling of more luxury, and a dual aspect view of the bend in the road where the hotel was situated but that did not make it noisy. The restaurant was busy but we fitted in and enjoyed a decent meal. Breakfast was up to standard.

Getting there from the SWCP could have been helped by a couple of discreet signs on the way but we found it without mistakes (just watch out for mobile blackspots and dubious GPS in the valley) The venue is not in any particular town so you are going to want to eat there, not that this is a problem but it limits choice if travelling with others.

The food especially breakfast was lovely and the shower was wonderful. The staff were also extremely helpful and there was also plenty of onsite car parking. The area is lovely and would definitely recommend the Bude Sea Pool.

The room was fairly small and there was no where to sit apart from the bed which is not the most comfortable way of relaxing. To be fair, there was a guest lounge available and outside bench seating. Also, the hallway to the rooms had very creaky floorboards so you knew when other guests were passing by.

We stayed 1 night at the Hoops Inn while walking the South West Coast Path. The service was excellent. The manager called us in the afternoon to make sure we had a table booked for dinner. The room was spacious and decorated in traditional style with antique furniture. Although the bed looked romantic, it was not the most comfortable, but we slept okay. For dinner there were some nice choices on the menu, and our meals were very tasty. Breakfast (full English) was also good. As there was nothing else in the area it was also handy that they could provide sandwiches for our walk the next day.

Some minor points for improvement: Please try to use less single use plastic, e.g. the little toiletry bottles could be replaced with large refillable ones. Some attention to detail would be good: shelf space and a hook for hand towel near the sink in the bathroom, and hooks for coats in the bedroom. Overall, we had a lovely stay and recommend the Hoops Inn if you're in the area.

- Checking in was very friendly and welcoming. We were given room 14 for 3 nights on 24/3/22 which was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed but very small. Just the bed and a stool to sit on as there certainly wasn’t room for a chair. Probably the smallest room we’ve ever booked but it wasn’t a problem as it had everything we expected and needed. This lovely attractive country pub has a fabulous feeling to it and staffed by friendly smiling people. All the food ordered was nicely presented and absolutely delicious. Sunday roast has to be the star of the show and breakfast close behind! - Our stay here was most enjoyable and I’d certainly recommend it without hesitation. So many thanks for the great food, friendly welcome and comfortable stay.

You will not starve at The Hoops Inn. Breakfast’s were good, plenty of it. So it will set you up for the day. That too goes for dinner, so be prepared, portions are not small and levels are above the normal pub grub. The rooms are well presented and the beds comfortable. Dogs can stay in the rooms. There is plenty of parking at the back of the inn. From there you can walk to SW Coast path, if you wish…it’s not far.

Very dog friendly. Small things bought the rating down, not things that would prevent us from recommending it , but things that could make improvements. Signage from the car park, signage for the breakfast room. There were long black hairs in the bath, bathroom door didn't lock. The staff were very friendly. Food , personally we found the breakfast portions too big, lovely food, but we were conscious of wastage. However we enjoyed our stay, it was a delightful setting with a magnificent garden.

We were visiting family in Bude and looked for somewhere to stay to break up the journey back to Bristol. Really friendly welcome and accommodating with my mums mobility issues ( needing a shower rather than bath and not too many steps to her room etc. ) Rooms were really lovely and everything you needed - including shower mat which isn't often in a bathroom! Really comfy beds and slept so well as lovely and quiet! We booked in for dinner which was really great and also Breakfast was amazing - so delicious, local ingredients and great portions. Very impressed! Loved looking at the old photos of the inn and the history of the place.

Nothing really - no disabled parking but easy to drop mum off by reception and then move the car to the car park behind the hotel. I didn't have a tea/coffee tray in my room (my mum did) but I completely forget to ask at reception so wasn't that important for me (but I'm sure they would've helped with this straight away!)

Great location, staff very friendly clean rooms and excellent reasonably priced food. There is a small field to the rear of the car park and a path. This takes you to a road and then left towards national trust footpaths leading onto the southwest coastal footpath. Spectacular views of the Devon coast. Clovelly is certainly worth a visit and within a 14 mile round trip walk from the hotel. Allow plenty of time as it's glorious but not easy.

You are greeted with a warm and friendly welcome when you arrive, and that's how the whole stay feels like. We have stayed before and will definitely return again. Nothing is too much bother, even when you can see they are very busy.

There isn't much I think that we didn't like. The only problem was the bathroom door didn't have a lock on it. But that's all.

Our room was lovely, really clean and had lots of little extras like towels, toiletries, hairdryer, biscuits, hot chocolate , the pub was perfect, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, the BEST !!! food !!!!!!!!! Breakfast times were long 7 till 10 so you didn't have to rush in the morning , lovely beer garden and bonus checkout wasnt till 11
