Excellent breakfast tailored to individual tastes, including produce fresh from the garden. Friendly conversation with other guests at a shared table. The dining room has views towards the walled garden and lots of good information on local activities. We slept very well in a very comfortable, private and spacious room, with everything you need and a view over the countryside. The quaint nearby village of Blisland has a community store and a pub on the green, and walks through the woods starting at the churchyard. A very warm welcome from a thoughtful host in a beautiful home full of historic family treasures.

We just loved our stay at Trewardale. The whole mansion/manor has just recently been renovated and we stayed in the blue room with a very comfortable super-kingsize bed. It has also an extra small side bedroom for a third person (called Chinese room)and an ensuite bathroom. Whilst booking our room, the grey room appeared to have a shared bathroom. However, you do not have to share it, it is just only down the corridor. The family of this beautiful house have their own section/staircases so you will not meet anyone on the way. We had breakfast served in the diningroom, where the ancestors looked upon us with a kind expression on their faces, as if they approved of us being there. We absolutely loved the huge garden with its ancient trees.

From the moment you arrive, you know you've stumbled across something special - the house, gardens and views are all magical. Hospitality at Trewardale is excellent too. Lucy and George, were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. They were always happy to offer advice on the best places to visit and things to do in the area. Breakfast was also a great start to the day and set us up for long walks along the coastline. Lucy cooked us a delicious spread every morning, with fresh eggs from their chickens, bacon, sausage and toast. We also had muesli, yoghurt and fruits to chose from. A great find for exploring North and South Cornwall set amongst beautiful countryside.

Our stay at Trewardale was one of the highlights of our trip to Cornwall. The house and grounds are beautiful and full of history and Lucy and George were so welcoming. We stayed in the Blue room which has great views of the grounds from the windows and its own en-suite. The super king bed was very comfy and we both had great sleeps on our trip. The part of the house that you stay in includes access to the dining room and drawing room, both of which are full of history and just amazing to look at. Breakfast, served in said dining room, was lovely and included lots of fresh ingredients - Lucy was very accommodating as to when and what we might like to eat every morning. The family have 4 friendly dogs that greeted us when we came downstairs every morning which we particularly loved. Lucy had a host of recommendations of where to eat and beaches to go which was very helpful as we hadn’t been to Cornwall for years. The location of the property is ideal, right off of the main road so if you’re driving round Cornwall to visit places it’s pretty perfect.

We don’t think anything could have improved our stay! We didn’t want to leave so hopefully we can come back to experience it again.

We had a wonderful stay at Trewardale. It's a stunningly beautiful house and grounds with a fascinating history. Lucy the host was extremely helpful and provided wonderful breakfasts with eggs laid by hens who live in the walled garden. Our room was very spacious with a view over the grounds, a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. As an added bonus we were able to swim in the open air heated pool.

Nothing could have been better. It was perfect.

We particularly liked:- The large rooms and the views plus the friendly welcome. The swimming pool was the icing on the cake. It felt like a privilege to be able to share the host’s gorgeous property. Also only two rooms are let out so there is a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately our room had a bath with shower attachment to the tap so not able to have a shower but they do have plans to install one soon.

Breakfast was terrific, a good variation and fresh ingredients. The location for us was as good as we could have asked for, central to what we wished to see in Cornwall and very quiet with fantastic gardens.

I can't think of anything that would or could have improve our stay. We were made feel welcome from our arrival and that continued throughout our stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Trewardale was for us the perfect location to explore Cornwall. The house incl. park ,the friendly host family, the bedroom, the provided guest application, the breakfast are far more than exceptional good! It was one of the very bests Guesthouses we ever stayed in and we can’t recommend it more and really hope to find the time in the future to stay there again.

Trewardale is set in beautiful, peaceful countryside, surrounded by its own land with beautiful trees. We were welcomed by Lucy, and also four friendly dogs. The family has lived in Trewardale for (I think) 300 years, and the downstairs rooms are filled with interesting memorabilia. There is an outdoor swimming pool. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and helpful.
