The bedroom was comfortable and very quiet... I slept well. Decor was tasteful and relaxing, although a bit shabby in places, as I have commented above. I thought the breakfast was well cooked and delicious. I would suggest that you extend your range of cereals; a lot of people like and expect muesli, for example. Restaurant service was excellent at breakfast. I did not have a chance to use the restaurant for lunch or dinner, unfortunately. The reception staff were also very good, very helpful, friendly and courteous. Every member of your staff I encountered made me feel very welcome.

My bedroom needed a lick of paint... I gather that the hotel is due for redecoration soon. I would prefer, on a subsequent visit, not to have a bedroom on the third floor, as I am elderly and do not like climbing stairs.

Wow! This hotel is amazing! Has so much character. The reception desk alone constructed out of antique suitcases was a sight to behold. My room was a standard double but looked like luxury. The bathroom....the bath...the shower and the mirror. I took photos to show in the future a bathroom filter of exactly that when I buy a house. Staff were exemplary and helpful. Dinner and breakfast was top notch. I had a view of the church nearby outside my window. The value for money was excellent.

I cannot fault in any way whatsoever. Highly recommend. Just wish I was staying for a week!

From the moment I checked in the service at the reception desk from the member of staff was welcoming & professional. The room exceeded my expectation for the price, warm, clean, comfortable and a lovely touch with a warm welcome message on the notepad from the housekeeping team. Bathroom in good condition, with everything catered for and I loved the rubber duck in the bathroom....made me smile! Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. Perfect overnight stay after a long day at work and works do. Thank you so much, your staff are wonderful. I'll be definitely returning next year.

Easy check in, polite staffing on reception, room was very clean and tidy,nice shower could be better as a power shower as water flow was slow. Breakfast room was nice, self service area clean and tidy nice choice, waitress came to us to order cooked food, and tea and coffee, drinks took about 20mins to arrive, Breakfast was really slow over 1hour asked if they had forgotten about us said no,but no explanation way it was so slow. When cooked breakfast arrived it was tasty and well presented Unfortunately with waiting so long spoiled our experience.

Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms, everything was provided in the room: kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate and a great little blue tooth radio/speaker the bathroom had a lovely range of shampoo, shower gels and conditioner,

We had dinner at the property and I ordered the large ‘Fish and chips’, what arrived was the most pathetic portion I have ever encountered in my life, it was so small I instantly asked the waitress if there had been some kind of mistake as I wouldn’t even have classed it as a child’s portion; I had heard the food was expensive but I didn’t expect the hotel to be actively robbing its customers, at £17.95 I was expecting more. Beyond this moan the food was beautiful but really!

The best value hotel I have used ! Central, in a beautiful location by the river. Seating area outside lovely, as were the courtyard and the whole surroundings. Easy parking. Welcoming friendly efficient staff. Easy check-in and payment. Room immaculate with all we needed. TV, Radio, tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of space in room and bathroom- would love that bathroom myself ! Great breakfast with all you could ask for.

Everything was fine. No lift, but to be expected in what is presumably a listed building. Not a problem having a few flights of stairs to stay in comfort- lots of cushions ! - in a place with history.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. Nothing was to much and customer service was given as they treated you like they would like you to treat them. The breakfast was excellent and a nice change to have a cooked breakfast to order. The eggs Royal was superb. The dinner my sister treated me to was fabulous and again customer service was excellent. The staff had great knowledge of all the menus. Also great to find a place with brilliant mocktails and non alcoholic wine. The staff assisted my sister as she has been very unwell this year. Great hotel with fabulous rooms and great staff. The location is brilliant and it's a great hotel that I can recommend to anybody.

the hotel has a good large car park and although from the back it looks a bit shabby as soon as you enter you are in alovely courtyard with flowers and lighting We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who helped us to our room, we had been upgraded and the room was lovely spacious and clean and full of the little extras we all love. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent choice of pastries, cereals , toast, yogurts and toppings and then the choice of everything from full english to a bacon sandwich. Finally but not least I would like to thank Corrina and all the staff that made it a fun getaway, it was my friends birthday and out of nowhere appeared a happy birthday cake and candle. Thank you all for a lovely break.

Most helpful reception staff and really spotless condition, comfortable, well serviced/stocked room, if a little bijou (but singles and so perfectly adequate, in this instance, for a one night stay, ). As central a location as you could wish for, with views of the river, the 'Stump', the bridge & some superb historical architecture. Good friendly bar/restaurant/staff and amazing choice at breakfast, together with excellent coffee.

Not the easiest place to find - That's it, can't stretch the grumbles to two or three sentences as requested...and I can be a moaning old b****r at times ;-)

Lovely location, big bedrooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff.

Shower quite small. Quite noisy outside at night. Breakfast was nice, would be nice to have omelette as an option & there was only apple juice or water - orange juice would have been nice. Friend with mobility issues, found it hard to access all the stairs & it was quite a trek to her room, her bedroom door was very heavy & she caught her hand in it (appreciate it’s probably heavy due to fire regs) Would definitely stay again tho.
