it wasn't as antique as the picture suggests but it was pleasant enough as a building. The pool and spa was of good size and wonderfully heated and clean. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and priced accordingly, the rooms well proportioned, and comfortable. Although I found the double bed rather hard. The free drinks in the room were excellent and restocked each day. The wine and the coffee in the room first class. Jacuzzi bath very welcome. Reception very helpful and everyone very welcoming.

Just a very few things niggled. Only one set of towels set out, only one small bar of soap, no robes, only terrestrial tv, small windows, cramped shower cubicle with tricky to adjust shower, hot/cold water in in shower on a knife's edge! Room service did not supply the full menu until 10 pm as stated ... only until 9 pm. Not a big menu with some items unavailable. Food delivered to room without condiments.

No surcharge for my dogs

Silicon sealant and tools left in the bathroom and a roll of blue paper and unlabelled cleaning solution left right outside the door to my room Bed was not as comfy as I'd expect for the rates charged. Room was stiflingly hot and stuffy. Staff were not particularly friendly or communicative. In the breakfast room staff were completely disinterested and several times the area was completely devoid of staff for extended periods. Breakfast choice was ok but other hotels around Cambridge do better for much less. Overall disappointing and unlikely to choose this hotel again

The restaurant menu is much improved since my last stay at The Belfry. The chef is imaginative when it comes to dining post 6.00 p.m.

The breakfast is still wanting - I have stayed at The Belfry many times over the past 14 years or so and breakfast always lets it down. This time - though the cooked food on the buffet was hotter than I can ever remember, which is a plus - there was a lack of fresh fruit and choice of yoghurt. I don't eat cereals / pastries / toast / croissants but this buffet - like many others - seems to assume folk fill up on carbs. Re my room, there were places that really needed a good spray of cleaner / polish plus elbow grease.

Quiet hotel, slept well. Good location for nearby wedding. Plenty of parking.

One member of staff completely ignored my wife when she was trying to check out. Just left her standing there while the member of staff continued on her mobile phone behind the desk. (Other staff members had been polite & helpful earlier on, so this spoilt that good impression) If what she was doing was that time-critical, then I suggest just pausing for a moment to tell the customer, "sorry I'll be with you in a few minutes, I'm dealing with something more important than you just now"..... or perhaps just hang up until no-one is waiting?

The beds were a little harder than ours at home but we both had a great night's sleep for both evenings. There was a wedding on the first evening but we didn't hear a sound in our room, they are well away from the bar and event areas. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and healthy options. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and lunch on alternate days and the food was great quality and very tasty. The spa was small but had all that you needed, the swimming pool was nice and warm. There were a few shops nearby, Morrisons, Home Bargains, which were handy to stock our in room minibar! The hotel is around 20 minutes from Cambridge city centre, via car. We drove in later in the afternoon and stayed in Queens car park, this had free parking after 6pm so it was very cheap.

The room and en-suite was very clean but the bathroom needed a little updating.

Breakfast had a huge variety of hot and cold foods lots of drinks etc. my daughter has a lot of food allergies but she was more than happy with the variety on offer to suit her needs. The hotel was spotless. We were in a penthouse which was beautiful perfect space for two adults and two children never felt on-top of each other. Kids had a proper bed which was brilliant. The pool was lovely and clean also. Plenty of parking. The staff were all fantastic spoke to the children kindly too which isn’t always the case. My dad stayed there also as going to a wedding and they remembered this which was a personal touch.

It was a shame that kids cannot go into the pool at any time only certain times which was disappointing to explain to them arriving at 3 on a Thursday and a wedding on the Friday they had to wait until 8:30 Saturday morning to swim. I understand they do adult only times but it doesn’t inform you anywhere until check in

Had a fabulous couple of nights at The Cambridge Belfry From the minute I arrived to be welcomed by the lovely lady on reception and the added bonus of getting a noon check in instead of 3pm (phew, I saw the queue at 3 on my way for my first swim), nothing was too much trouble for anyone The staff were all awesome. I’m rubbish at remembering names but Rachel, Megan and Willow all deserve a mention. I was truly looked after at meal times and at the bar. And a huge thank you to the chap on reception at night, who kindly took a fan to my room as I was a tad hot (lady of a certain age and all that) Food… amazing evening meals. Hats off to the chefs. Breakfast spot on The room was spotless, the bed so comfy (I wanted to take those pillows home)… had two of the best nights sleep in ages. TV twice the size of your usual hotel TV Loved the pool and jacuzzi. I took full advantage of this added bonus. Most powerful jacuzzi I’ve been in for a while. I usually have permanent hip pain but spent the last 3 days pain free! I only booked here (I’m a regular visitor to IWM Duxford) because I couldn’t get a booking for Duxford Lodge or the Cross Keys in Saffron Walden (my usual go to places). I wasn’t disappointed and I’ll definitely be back. Thank you everyone for a fab stay

I liked the size of the room and the fact there was a mini fridge which I didn’t think there would be in the classic rooms. I also liked the quiet location and the bed was very comfortable and having a bath as well as a shower was a nice touch and the bathroom was spacious and the free toiletries made a nice touch.

The signal for the TV wasn’t very good, it had the main channels but no HD channels or if there were there was no signal for them. The water pressure for the tap in the bathroom sink seemed to be low and I couldn’t change the temperature from hot to cold very easily. Also,I realise I didn’t ask for a room with air conditioning but a fan or some kind of cooling unit might have been nice as it was a very warm and humid evening/night, saying that the room kept pretty cool.

Everything was really good and couldn’t find fault in anything in the 3 days that we stayed there! And A Massive Thank You to our cleaner KYRA Who looked after our room and a big thank you to the pool/gym staff apart from the woman not doing anything wrong just didn’t get a chance to speak with her and the lads was very professional but you could still have a laugh with them. And as my first time staying/visiting I would recommend this venue to couples especially as good location and romantic and would definitely come again. Thank You Kade x

Location was good, pool and jacuzzi were nice to relax in after a busy day

No air conditioning in the room. at lunchtime the bar area only had one member of staff to manage a busy queue as well as taking coffees etc to customers so it took a while to be served. I ordered a sandwich from the bar menu and it took far longer than it should do to arrive, and when it did, it didn’t match the description, the bread was a bit hard (like it had been left out all day) and it was under filled. Given the time it had taken to bring it out, it wasn’t worth complaining about and waiting for another. I had dinner in the bar area too and whilst it was decent food, I wasn’t offered cutlery or any condiments.
