The arrangements for booking in were emailed before our arrival and required the use of key codes to enter the building. But everything was straightforward. We met the caretaker the following morning and he was both friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental and was both tasty and sufficient. Because the weather was good, we were able to eat it at a table provided outside. The site was secluded and peaceful with a large garden to wander around. The village itself is quiet and attractive with several thatched cottages yet only a short distance from a major trunk road. The site is less than a 20 minute drive from a Park and Ride hub near Cambridge and we conveniently reached our destination in the centre of the city.

We booked 4 rooms as were visiting the village for funeral. Each room was exactly as described, and as in the photograph. Everything is immaculate & warm & cosy. The owners were v thoughtful checking my requirements for each room, and agreed we could leave cars there whilst at funeral etc. One of my group had mislaid mobile but few texts in morning it was easily located in his room for us. So the communication & assistance was perfect! Breakfast was spot on, huge bowl of assorted chopped fruit is provided & warm toast. We ordered breakfast for various times & that was not a problem either. Thankyou as it made a difference to an emotional visit to the village.

Great property lovely room comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was delightful and much appreciated. Thank you.
I know the neighbours live next door and that was clearly explained in the booking details , but if they could park their cars on the opposite side of the drive to the accommodation and not directly under the window to the rooms adjacent to , for example the Cedar Room where we were , that would give guests more privacy particularly as your neighbours made an early start while we were there right outside our window.

The room was very clean, and the breakfast was amazing. We really enjoyed the privacy and how safe the lodge was. Anything you wanted was just a text away. Would definitely recommend it. We would like to return in the future for another short break.
I would prefer to park my car nearer the property as we both have mobility issues. I have rhuematoid arthritis and my partner is 82 years old, so the car park was a bit too far away, but I realise the drop-off car park is very small. Everything else was perfect.

The room was spacious, clean and quiet. The grounds were lovely. The bed was very comfortable. The property was secure. The host was responsive to our request for fresh towels.
The bathroom was not user-friendly. It never dried out after showering and the heated towel rail wasn't on so our towels were always cold and damp (hence our request for fresh towels). The wash basin was too low and had no dry space for toiletries.

Lovely room and ensuite, comfy bed and pillows. Very nice breakfast beautifully presented.
Room painted dark blue, had to have the lights on to read even on a sunny day. There was an inner courtyard but no mention in the details if guests were allowed to use it. If so some individual patio chairs would be nice.

Breakfast was just what was required and presented beautifully on a tray. We chose to eat outside in the sunshine in the courtyard
Just one small niggle. I was woken in the early hours by the standby light on the TV starting to flash red/green. No idea why. It stopped when I switched the TV on then off again

it is beautifully presented. everything we needed was to hand. if you needed something the proprietors were able to give you what you needed quickly and it felt as though nothing was too much trouble. Excellent hosts - loved having breakfast delivered to our rooms in the morning, a real treat.
Nothing - room could be enhanced with a fridge but that may spoil the overall provision.

Set in extensive and beautiful grounds the lodge had a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. It was very clean and well maintained. The continental breakfast was very good. Staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. It was everything I had hope for and at a reasonable price.

This is an excellent location for a visit to Dianne Boston next door almost, and supper at the local pub. There is good security via large coded gates, which made a relaxing change for us with our old car! The breakfast tray was a good idea, with a good selection of cereals & toast. Loved the fresh fruit & yoghurt! Hemingford Grey is a delightful village, with walks along the river, which can flood in winter, but it is easy to avoid this time. The village is well situated for larger St Ives and Huntingdon.
Might have been better if one of the pillows was thinner - we’re getting used to one flatter pillow now we’re over 65! On the other hand, a larger bath towel, or a bath gown, would have made life easier.
