We stayed in "the dog house" a self-contained unit beside the main house. The room itself was spacious and bright and opened onto the garden. Very quiet at night affording a good nights sleep. The bathroom was good with electric shower. There was self-catering equipment although we didn't use it. Breakfast was served in a large comfy kitchen in the main house. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Such a welcoming couple who run Thorpe Guest House. The room was beautifully presented and felt much more upmarket than any hotel room available at the price range. The breakfast was professionally presented and well cooked yet with a homely atmosphere. Would recommend.

A mirror in front of the basin. As a woman I like to have the mirror in front of me - in the ensuite there was a dual swivel mounted mirror but a little to high - even though I'm 163 cm - 5'5. I hairdryer would also have been a good addition,

We loved this guest house, one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. It's modern and spotlessly clean with a beautiful garden. The beds were huge and so comfortable with white cotton bedding. There's a good choice of breakfast and the hosts are super friendly and helpful, giving us lots of advice on places to go. It's in an excellent location with plenty of parking in the stunning village of Hemmingford Grey. It's close to local pubs and restaurants and it's in a perfect place for walking in this stunningly beautiful part of England.

I stayed at the Thorpe Guest House for two nights back in May while I was away with work. The property looks amazing from the outside and when you go in the decor and furnishings are impeccable. The room I stayed in was clean, modern and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was served by the host Stewart which was really good, and Stewart was kind enough to change my breakfast as I was looking for healthy options. Would recommend people to stay here if in the area, amazing stay.

Stewart is a welcoming and excellent host. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable, the location really quiet (silent at night)... = all the ingredients for a good night's sleep followed by a hot powerful shower in the morning. The breakfast was really good value and of a really high quality with a good selection. Thank you Stewart.

Perfect location, we needed to visit family in Godmanchester which was a 5 minute drive away. Very friendly owners who accommodated our slightly late arrival with no problem and served up a wonderful breakfast. The bed was the most comfortable we had ever had. Clean, modern and a great shower. Definitely recommended and we will return.

Slight difficulty seeing the signage in the dark, but if you arrive in the daylight it won't be a problem.

We knew our room had a separate bathroom but surprised to find that we had to walk across the main entrance hallway to get there. The bathroom itself was lovely and well equipped so not a major issue.

Nicky was very hospitable with any requests we had. The room was clean and the bed was amazing. We both slept incredibly well. We can't comment on much else as we were in late and out early but we would definitely stay again!

The bathroom was across the hall which wasn't great in the night but can't be helped and certainly wouldn't stop us staying again if we were over that way!

A lovely Guest House in a perfect setting. Excellent breakfast, first class accommodation, outside garden seating, charming hosts, very good pub restaurant in the village, everything was just right.

I stayed at The Thorpe for over 6 weeks in "The Doghouse".  This space is essentially self-catered (sans laundry service).  The room was perfect, with a good sized bathroom, functional kitchenette area, comfortable bedroom, and direct access to the back garden. While the facilities were more than adequate,  the real highlight of my stay was the friendliness and kindness of Stuart and Niki.  They regularly went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable.  Regular cooked breakfast was a highlight of my day during the stay, and I'd stongly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for lodging (long or short) in the Hemmingford Grey area.
