It's a wonderful old building. Loads of character. We had the pleasure of sleeping with Elizabeth 1st . Yes you read that right. I did ask the staff the reason behind the names she couldn't tell me. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The bed was really comfy and. Clean. It was a 4 post bed and the room was set in a royal deep red and gold theme, with old dark wooden large furniture. The colour continues to the bathroom with red wall paper where the steam of a bathroom had started to warp the paper. The cleaners do an amazing job with such an old building. Don't come to this building with a spirit level. As nothing is level. The floors or the walls. But it is very much a very Old building in a small town. It's a case of you get what you pay for. Don't book this place and expect the Hilton for the price you're paying. But if you're just needing a place to lay your head for a reasonable fee that is clean and covers the basics then this place does the job. In the room there was a TV which did work. and the basics of kettle coffee tea ect. White towels. Think that covers it.

No meals available. No evening meal or breakfast. We had been at a market stall all day in the rain and just wanted a warm meal but we settled for packet sandwiches from a local co-op. This was available when I booked and then received an email after booking saying no food available. So that was a shame.

The room was done in a grand traditional style and was a good size. The corridors and stairs also had old historical items like a suit of armour, coats of arms, paintings etc. The staff were friendly and helpful

There were a couple of minor things but they didn't spoil our stay: The windows didn't open so you couldn't let fresh air into the room, there was a green emergency light which stayed on all night and it made it difficult for me to get off to sleep and the mattress was very soft.

The bedroom was amazing and it was great to spend sometime having a drink in the courtyard garden as the sun was setting and swallows were circling. This place is near to a railway station on the Heart of Wales line and also the A40.

Not being able to have breakfast when I satyed was a slight disadvantage. However, this was refelected in the price. Happily, there is also a convenience shop directly opposite the hotel open from early in the morning to buy food.

The whole place had lovely character. The were great with big 4 poster beds. The people staff and locals were lovely. Price was very good. Overall a great first night to our holiday. Oh and lovely safe off road parking too, through an archway.

Shame the kitchen was closed. Would have been great to eat there too. We had to go get fish n chips from the next village.. But they were lovely fish n chips!

Room was very large and warm, plenty of wardrobe space but was not needed. We did not have meals as we were with friends. En suite very clean and with excellent shower. There was no noise from the pub below.

Four poster bed and floor creaked as the inn is very old. TV did not work but this was not a problem.

the room was brilliant - what a lovely surprise. view over old houses on main street. Furnitures old-style four poster bed, carved chairs tables etc, real imitation Queen Elizabeth style. Plenty of space. Two chairs. Spotless bathroom and towels and bedding lovely and clean.

only one or two screws loose on wardrobe door.

Great location and great pub atmosphere downstairs watching the NZ v Italy Rugby World Cup match, There was an initial problem with lights not working when I arrived but they quickly rectified this so overall very good.

As stated above there was initially a problem with room lights and kettle lead but like I said above they quickly rectified this therefore a positive as opposed to a negative.

The room was good value , but the mattress was so bad ,every time I moved The springs were popping , and not big enough for the bed , And there was no ironing board or iron ,

The location to where I needed to be in the morning , Very close to the company I was working for .

Only one member of staff while we were there and he was exceptional. Loved the room though mattress was small for the beautiful bed. Lovely breakfast

Unfortunatly we did not have any WiFi in our room as booster was inactive. WiFi was availabe downstairs in communal areas.
