The rooms that are dog friendly are great and perfectly located at the back on the ground floor with a patio door to ourselves. The room was beautifully clean with a nice bathroom. We stayed on 24 June. We had a meal at the plough that evening. What a heavenly meal. I am also gluten and lactose intolerant but this was no difficulty for the staff or the kitchen. A wonderful optional menu that made it so I could have nearly everything on the menu. This is a rare thing and I was so impressed with it. There was a big party the night we stayed, or maybe they are always that live and bustling. All staff were so friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much trouble.

There was nothing I didn't like. A great place to stay, dine and have drinks or a party.

I am often disappointed by hotels. I find them noisy and not conducive to sleep, which is the whole point of them! I really enjoyed my one night stay here. The room was well proportioned, with a really comfortable bed. I was well away from fire doors and at the end of a hallway, which meant only one guest would pass my room and fortunately, I heard no-one (why do people think it's OK to have a full volume conversation at 12:45am?!!!!). The bathroom was spacious and immaculate. A good, plentiful selection of tea and coffee, plus proper milk, not those long life cartons (again why?!). Plus a bottle of water, which is always welcomed after a long day travelling. I also had a beautiful view through a large landscape window, which was a bonus. Great welcome from Hannah at Reception too. Parking was convenient, with a very short walk from the car to my room. I had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant, with really good portions - I had a starter too and couldn't manage all of my meal as it was generous. Really well prepared and seemed to me to be fresh, and cooked well - not microwaved. The concierge appeared experienced and well in control of what was going on with each of his guests. Breakfast was lovely, I chose the muffin with (perfectly) poached eggs and plentiful Avocado. I recommend the Plough Inn.

Honestly, nothing and I'm properly fussy when it comes to hotel stays. I'm frequently disappointed.

I had a wonderful stay at The Plough with my family last week. Very clean, a beautiful setting and really lovely staff. Best of all for me was the range of gluten-free food on the menu - almost anything can be made gluten-free which I wasn’t expecting at all. I ate several meals there, all of which were delicious. I also decided to try the cream tea but hesitated since I have never had a decent GF scone - to my surprise the Plough GF scones were baked fresh and were absolutely phenomenal! I’d go back just for that 😂.

- The decor is a little tired, however the rooms are very clean, comfortable and everything works. The only thing missing was a fridge. - The food is a little on the expensive side however for me it was absolutely worth it

Apart from being clean, tidy and fresh, nice powerful shower, lovely food, and mostly very friendly helpful staff (with the exception of one young lady at diner that didn’t really seem like she wanted to be there and forgot to tell her colleague about our drink order, no big deal). The other thing I loved about the property that was we could park literally right out side our back door which was also ideal for our dog. And also plenty of areas to let the dog have a little run around etc.

Only that it was right on a fairly busy road but because we were based at the back of the property it didn’t matter much. I thought we were getting a double bed but it was two twins together but actually that was fine, still comfortable and probably a lot bigger than a double. I also thought we were getting a bath as well as a shower but again, the nice shower made up for it and it was only for one night.

I was in the area on business so choose this hotel for location for my job the next day I'm so glad I did. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and because I was late checking in thay had reserved me a table Incase I hadn't eaten which I thought was a lovely touch. I took advantage of this and must say the food and service was Five star. I had booked a standard double room which I was very pleased with it was spacious well decorated with a very comfy bed lots of choice of tea coffee ect There was even a iron and board. The breakfast was wonderful a full range of options cereals toast and large choice of cooked breakfasts.

There was nothing I didn't like about my stay and will definitely stay here again if I'm in the area And definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The property was perfectly set up for travellers with dogs. We stayed in a lovely room with patio doors leading outside into a carpark, beyond the carpark is a huge field, a gated area for the dogs and dog waste bins. The view is gorgeous. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff are fantastic. The best part of our stay was the food - it is amazing. We wouldn’t usually eat in the same restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner but we did on this occasion as the food was just delicious.

Could not find any faults.

Beautiful room exceptionally clean. Huge bed, awesome shower. Wonderful views. Food was delicious 😋. Chef is outstanding. Service at breakfast excellent far more friendly and professional and caring, far superior to the restaurant staff. The ladies running the breakfast should train all the restaurant staff. Overall amazing time will definitely stay there again and recommend to all I know.

I travel alone by choice. Unfortunately the last evening for dinner I was sat at a table in the bar, near the toilets and the main entrance. So very noisy, obtrusive and bothered by people constantly goings back and forth from bar and toilets. The main quiet restaurant was empty so have no idea who a single lady was sat in a very noisy bar. Felt so uncomfortable rushed my meal and back in hotel room within half an hour.

The room was lovely, and the bed was really comfortable. The evening meal was delicious. The staff were attentive and professional. It was a great way to celebrate a birthday.

The breakfast experience could be improved. The waitress was unwelcoming and made us feel uncomfortable and in her way. It was disconcerting to have her clearing away breakfast items (bread, toast and juice for example) before we had finished. I fully appreciate the need to prepare for lunchtime, but please let guests finish breakfast first.

Absolutely lovely place to say. I asked if an upgrade was available and for £30 they were able to upgrade to the bridal suite. The full amount we paid for the night including upgrade fee was £160. Upgrading to a suite felt like real luxury on our little trip. After a long day of travelling we decided to get room service for dinner. Breakfast was delicious and the staff went above and beyond. Room was nice and dark, bed was super comfy and HUGE although the people staying in the room next to ours were slightly noisy, nothing ear plugs couldn't sort out.

The toilet is placed right behind the door in the bathroom so if anyone were to walk in while you're on the loo (which a lot of couples do) you'd loose a toe, this could be easily fixed by switching the door to a pocket door instead of an inward opening.

Breakfast excellent, varied menu and the hot food was served hot from the kitchen - self service breakfasts are usually lukewarm. Lovely snacks served lunchtime. Dinner excellent. Well presented food. Well run dining room. Although busy the service was just right. A well stocked and well run bar . Well staffed in all departments and all the staff we encountered were first class - well done everyone.

Nothing! Couldn’t fault a thing!
