My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights. The host was really chatty and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean with a really modern en-suite. The room had a microwave a fridge a toaster and a kettle which we found really handy. What we had placed in the room each day for breakfast was amazing. Coffee, various teas, fruit juice, a selection of fresh fruit, a selection of cereals, thick sliced bread for toast, butter, a selection of jams, marmalade & cream cheese. The location is fantastic with the beach literally at the end of the road.

There really wasn’t anything which we would complain about or to dislike. To small things I ought to mention, were the radiator valves were tight for adjustment of the heating and that there wasn’t any decaffeinated coffee sachets. But I’m used to this and always take my own, so it wasn’t a problem

I really like these British hotels, which are privately run, usually with a lot of commitment and attention to detail. They may not have the luxury of large chains, but they have a soul. This is also the case here. I felt at home.

The idea of offering breakfast in the room has something going for it, as there is a fridge and microwave in the room that you can use - and need, as unfortunately the breakfast on offer can only be pre-packaged goods, which also have the disadvantage of producing a lot of rubbish. A disadvantage. But as I said, I felt very comfortable in the room.

Location for Clacton pier and beach was amazing, just out of the centre so nice and quiet but only a very short walk to the beach and facilities - perfect. Could not ask more from the breakfast, plenty of cereals, bread, milk, jams, fruit, coffe, teas - again perfect, even my partner didn't miss his cooked breakfast! The hosts were so friendly and always there if we ever needed them but everything was great - no complaints about anything.

Nothing - everything was perfect. A great stay.

the room was very clean the ensuite was perfect the breakfast was just what we wanted so we could go and visit relatives after breakfast and we were very close to places to eat and the sea front was 5mins walk down the road we hopefully will be back for august bank holiday if the price is right again the idea of the parking was fantastic we couldnt belive we did not have to find a parking space. and it was free thank you for such a brillintant weekend break .

there wasnt anything we did not like only thing was abit noisy at night early hours with youngers up stairs but we were worn out with the fresh air and we were down stairs room any way good night sleep. than you.

Self contained with mini fridge, Microwave Adequate breakfast in room [cereals, toast/spreads/yogurt/juice]. Fairly close to amenities [walking distance to main seaview, and good selection of restaurants near by , right of building, and first right]. Was spotless, great hosts!

No Brown bread selection. WiFi password too complicated..Good to have secure access points, but not too complicated :)[and I work in I.T!] Used my own broadband, so it was fine with me.. Spare power plug provision limited, so had to unplug one of the table lamps..

Very clean and comfortable. Location excellent for rail station , town and coast. The help yourself continental breakfast in your room was well stocked and a good set of choices. Sufficient electric shower in the bathroom.

Unfortunately in our room the en suite bathroom hot tap was just a trickle and we had to warm a kettle and pour into the sink. We did not raise the issue with our host. Maybe a simple solution to rectify.

The room was perfect, spacious, clean, modern and exactly what we were hoping for! There was a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle along with fruit, loaf of bread, cereals, milk, yogurts and toppings for toast...perfect to have breakfast in the room or a quick snack. Our hosts were lovely and welcoming. Honestly, it is a gem of a find and would highly recommend to anyone coming to clacton for a trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Excellent location and stay at the Brunton, superb continental breakfast in your room. Everything you need to start your day. The owners were very helpful, accommodating, friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for Alton, Frinton, Holland on Sea and Clacton. Excellent facilities in the room, very comfy, cosy and clean. Parking was also excellent and outside the house. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely & clean. Great host, too. Comfortable room. Lovely touch to see fruit, along with cereals & yoghurt for breakfast to be had in your room. Toaster & kettle. Milk, butter, jams etc & fruit juice in the fridge.

Although it was a nice surprise to have everything available in your room, I'm a little old fashioned & like to have breakfast in a dining room. However, that is just a personal thing, & if I ever returned to Clacton, I wouldn't hesitate to book again 😁 Great Central location too.

We had a lovely comfortable 3 night stay at the Brunton House Guest house as we visited Clacton on sea for a short break. The location is excellent in walking distance of the pier, beach and promenade and our ground floor room was a good size and very clean. Our hosts were friendly and helpful.The bed was very comfortable and the shower efficient with plenty of hot water. We were able to have a car parking space at the front for the whole time we were there. The breakfast was supplied to our room - lots of fresh bread, fresh fruit and yogurt with jam, marmalade and chocolate spread. The only thing that would’ve made it better would have been some cold meat or cheese maybe to go with the toast as my husband is diabetic and there were not many low sugar options on offer. There were Dairylea cheese triangles and marmite but not that enticing for breakfast. All in all we would highly recommend this guest house for a nice place to stay.
