Basically everything. Every person from the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for who is travelling without a car, close to train station and literally on the path to the hill. The room was big and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was delicious and fairly priced. The pool was well maintained and I just would have loved to have found better weather to use it more. The outdoor space was great to entertain my child.

Hard to say, I really enjoy my staying in the hotel. Only improvement could be the door of the toilet which was hard to open, and the bathroom itself with was overall good but had no aeration system.

The out door pool was lovely and we were very lucky to have some sunshine to be able to use it, have to say not over keen on the restaurant, the staff were very good, but did not think it has a lot of atmosphere - the lights were too bright - and could not quite get what it was - some people were dressed in football tops and others were dressed up - so not sure if it had a pub vibe or restaurant vibe - did not have breakfast so cannot compare - but I would certainly stay at this hotel again

probably not book the restaurant, but the staff were excellent

Pretty big room and bed. The facilities were also stanning and right by the box hill. Really good coffee in the bar and the breakfast buffet was amazing. However, it was extra £10 per person that totally worths it but for the value of the room, they could have incorporated to the ammount.

Some of the rooms( including ours) were facing the road which is not quiet as stated in the booking. There is a motorbike meeting point right next to the parking (that these rooms are facing) and they all pass by it which is horrible during the day. It gets better during the night though. Also, there is no free parking which is ridiculous. You pay a discounted £10 for 24 hours which again I think that for the value of the room, they could have incorporated the additional charge.

Lovely mix of historic buildings and newer extensions. Very nice interiors. Staff were amazing, as was the food. The pool was well maintained, always watched by friendly lifeguards, and the mix of lane and general swimming worked well. Room cleaned every day, discretely. Music in the restaurant was low and pleasant. Lovely outdood dining setup, too. We had a lovely holiday!

Room was also well furnished, though a bit dated/worn out.

Facility, garden and swimming pool cleanliness and room size Also, most of the staff are nice and friendly Close to parks and picnic areas

The room was cold regardless of turning on the small heater which keeps turning off automatically The hallway to the rooms is full of steps and uneven floors, could fall on it, as an old building, it could use some soothing As we were facing the streets and parking lot, while the windows were not sound proof, we can hear loud people, motorcycle and buses in the streets Also, as we extended our stay, every night I had to arrive to my room to find out that the keys are not working and head back to reception.

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and as we remembered it. But our bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. Good selection for breakfast but disappointed that the dinner menu was the same both evenings.

We came to the hotel to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary, having spent our honeymoon night here. I waited an hour for my main meal as I didn’t have a starter and it took a while for my husband to get his starter. This was because the party in another room took priority over guest in the restaurant. I was very upset about this because this was a special celebration for us. Your staff were wonderful and very understanding and we new it wasn’t their fault. The lady in charge of the restaurant very kindly said that we would not be charged for our meal but it didn’t help the feeling of disappointment. You must think very carefully when you have a party of people about the people in your restaurant.

The staff were extremely accommodating. The room was comfortable, our shower didn’t work, but someone came to fix that right away. The food was good. The pool is heated and has a lifeguard. The surrounding area is great for nature lovers. Great walk/hike just behind the hotel, endless fun for the kids. It’s very out of the way, therefor we needed to take a taxi from Gatwick. Well maintained property.

Tastefully decorated entrance, bar and lounge areas. Our room was clean and comfortable. However the temperature in the hotel was quite chilly. Appreciate everyone is mindful of the cost of energy but the corridors were cold and there was no heating on in the room when we arrived. It took a while to warm up before we took our coats off. Breakfast was good although no choice of eggs, only scrambled egg available.

There’s a lot to like and we were only there for one night. Only dislike was the temperature of the room.

excellent facilities. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We ordered room service as we had our 4 month old with us and it was excellent, delivered very quickly and the food was superb. Good value for money, especially for the area and the facilities available.

We were told we needed a deluxe room due to having our little one with us, a bit confusing as a four month old doesn’t actually require a sofa bed. Also the deluxe rooms are only accessible via steps and it was difficult to get our pram up and down, but we forgave this due to the fact that the room was nice and the rest of the stay was lovely. but accessibility is a bit of an issue on a whole at the hotel.
