- A charming and cozy hotel that is part of the exclusive Royal Scots Club, ideally located on a beautiful Georgian-style street overlooking a lovely wooded park. The city center is just a 10-minute walk away. - We stayed in the annex, two blocks from the main hotel, at 34A. The annex consists of four basement rooms. Our room, 341, was well-appointed, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped (courtesy tray with a selection of teas, coffee, and biscuits, along with a kettle and coffee machine, a spacious wardrobe, bathrobes, slippers, etc.). - The full breakfast was satisfying and of good quality, served in a beautiful dining room (I would suggest offering more fresh fruits). - Lucille, the receptionist, was very friendly and offered excellent advice (visit Stockbridge :-)

- Check-in is rather late (not before 3–4 PM). - The double bed was a bit small (though suited to the room's size). - A shelf in the bathroom and shower would be a welcome addition. - One of the sliding shower doors was broken. - Poor ventilation in the bathroom.

We had a lovely room on 2nd floor overlooking the park. The bathroom was small and the shower was over the bath. We didn’t have issues with this but others could have had as getting in and out was a bit of a challenge. The location was great as not far from George Street etc. Bar service was good and the lounge was very comfortable and it was also nice to have the outside terrace. We didn’t eat at the Royal Scots club so can’t comment on this aspect.

Need to be more alert on security. I asked for a room key, which wasn’t for my room, and it was handed to me with no name check etc which was rather concerning. My request fortunately was a legitimate request for the key to a relatives room who had asked me to get something from their room for them.

Great location and excellent facilities

We had a basement room right in the depths of the property which was very claustrophobic meaning the corridors getting to the room which were like a rabbit warren we had to check a few times how to exit in case of an emergency

I had a wonderful time at the Royal Scots Club. Very cosy with lots of history and character, it was like stepping back in time. The location is excellent and the staff is very friendly, professional and courteous. The ensuite-room was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast is amazing with a lot of choices. The hotel is only 3 stars but would deserve more regarding the brilliant service and all the extras in the room. Will definitely go back.

The only reason why I don’t give 10: my room was located close to a room reserved for staff. Probably a staff accommodation and in the evening I could hear absolutely everything. And when I say everything I mean everything.

Great location, lovely hotel and room had everything you needed.

The room was super hot, the reception staff not particularly friendly. Main issue was the hotel advertised you could use the luggage storage on your last day and this was also published at the hotel and I also checked when we arrived that we could store our luggage as checkout was 11am but our flight was not until 8pm. We were reassured all was ok but when we went to check out they said they were closing so would have to take our 23kg case with us. They were not helpful at all when I complained I’d never been told this, even though I had checked and had not received a text of email. We were simply expected to drag our suitcase around all day. Luckily my daughter found a luggage store twenty minutes walk away which cost us £12.50 per bag. Not very impressed with this service tbh.

It was a really lovely stay. The room was great and contained everything needed. Bed really comfortable and managed to sleep really well which is unusual for me. Dressing gown and slippers provided. Bath and shower. Tea and coffee facilities, a lovely historic stay as the Royal Scots Club has memorabilia of its early days all around. Staff really friendly & welcoming, helpful. A really enjoyable stay will definitely stay here again as I loved it!

It was a little cold at night as couldn’t feel the heat from the radiator through the thick curtains.

The location is excellent. It is very close to the center and to transportation. The room and the facility were very comfortable including the beds. The breakfast was very good and tasted. My colleague has a special diet and they were able to reflect this and to offer her the alternativity. This is good value for the money for Edingurg's stay. The bar area is cozy for friendly meetings with colleagues.

All was OK

All of the staff were great! Lucille who checked us gave us a really helpful and warm welcome! The 34a Annex room and bed were both comfortable and warm which is important in Edinburgh at winter time. After a day of checking out the sights, we warmed up quickly in our room which was a good size. I liked the location that it was quiet and well placed, a little over a 10 min walk to the main busy area of the city. The property was also located close to some very nice breakfast/brunch spots and bars. Thank you!

Bedroom was large and comfortable The dining room was delightful with windows to the front of the building. The view was very nice.

Did not like that the bedoom windows did not open and there was no air condition in the bedroom to make up for this. Of annoyance was that the shower room did not have an exhaust outlet. This is a must! Damp rooms to sleep in are not nice. Neither is having toilet "smells" around the room.
