The breakfast is amazing with yogurt, fruit, cereal, and options to make your own sandwich. The location is great. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

The communal toilets were not very clean.

The location was perfect - near Waverley Station, 5min from the Airlink 100 and just round the corner from Cockburn Street. Breakfast was good. Different juices, coffee and tea. Also toast with butter and jam, chocolate spread and a sandwich maker and a toaster. Cereals were also there. And fresh fruit. Bonus tip: bring your own yogurt and pimp your breakfast, there is a great food hall in the basement of M&S opposite from Scott’s monument in Prince’s Street. The beds were good and I liked that curtains ensured privacy. We had a nice view to Scott’s monument.

The chill out room could have been a bit bigger and a proper kitchen would’ve been nice, but it’s alright.

I find St Christopher's anywhere are clean, comfortable and friendly staff.

I arrived on a late flight and specifically requested a bottom bunk. When I went up to my room, there was someone occupying my bed.. I proceeded back down to reception and told this to the girl working about this. Now, she was very nice, I really have no complaints about her. She did, however, tell me just to take any bed in the room. What should have happened is I should have been offered another room that had a bottom bunk available. There are reasons I needed a bottom bunk and why I always request. It is always comfortable and pleasant. But requests should be honored if agreed to.

Clean bathroom

Location is excellent, pretty much straight opposite the Market St entrance to the station so very convenient for travel. Also very close to Prince's St and the Royal Mile for shops, restaurants etc. Bathroom and toilet in room were very clean, bed was comfy enough, bedding was clean, good storage cage under bed, two plug sockets per bed (very handy) and a good little shelf above your bed for smaller items (somewhere to put my earrings, headphones etc at the end of the day). Free earplugs too! Really good value for money.

Communal toilets on first floor weren't the cleanest but appreciate that people are constantly in and out of them. A little cramped between beds, but this can easily be worked around.

This was my first experience of staying in a hostel and I definitely picked the right one. I was nervous as a more mature person but everything was up to a high standard. The staff, the facilities, the location and even the middle bunk bed, I stayed in a 6 person female dorm. I had an issue with the locker in the dorm and it was dealt with straight away with no fuss, I cannot remember the name of the staff member that helped me, sorry, but he was so helpfully in trying to resolve the problem.

The heat in the room, the window was left open the whole time I was there as the temperature outside was high.

The location is perfect. We liked the double room with private bathroom. It was clean and the shower worked well. Beds were comfy and I was really surprised when I saw that we had two pillows each. That was a great surprise because usually you have to ask for another pillow if you like two. The weather was cold and it was nice that the place was kept warm. The staff were nice and helpful. I will definitely look into staying in another chain in a different city if there is a chain there.

The only thing we didn't like was that there was a lot of slamming doors in the hallway during the night.

i discovered chiling room on my last night , you can have free coffee/tea and with little kitchen. it’s next to train station and 500 meters from bus station, plus next to royal mile. has a bar and cafe . my room of 18 people had seperate showers/rest rooms. beds were best on my all UK travel. has elevator. staff were so nice.

room was little dirty, i cleaned it every morning, wonder that left broken half luggage still in room 25. left bottles, wapes, dust, books, tripods… i put them on garbage. they should let chiling room for use of ones who will do early check in

Genuinely surprised by how nice the rooms were. Appreciated that each bathroom had their bathroom. The rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Also a really great location right near Edinburgh Palace

The washing machines has a card terminal for payment and malfunctioned with an error code. Further and despite having read the instructions, it charged my card several times without completing the card verification / booking confirmation on screen, which was frustrating. Fortunately staff were helpful in providing a solution however would recommend taking washing elsewhere otherwise it may cost more than your night’s stay. Make sure to take exact coins for the lockers as it old tech with no option to cancel.

Great location to explore central Edinburgh directly opposite Waverley train station just about. Breakfast offered at restaurant/bar over the road and discount on food and drinks also. Traveled solo for a gig and stayed in a mixed dorm bed. Bunks are a little snug but comfortable and clean. Take a padlock (or you can purchase at reception) for your locker ( you get a small sized one in the dorm).

Due to it being triple bunks you could end up quite high up. Not much head room once in your bunk.
