Excellent in every aspect. :)
Showering towel still charge renting fees. Hope it can be included. And hope there will be booking choices directly include breakfast. :)

For a hostel, it's remarkably clean. The kitchen and common area are pretty nice and lively, and they offer free walking tours and whisky tastings in their own bar. There's a locker for your things that you lock with a personal code, and it's pretty easy to climb into the pods. Bathrooms and showers are big and clean.
Mixed dorms. There should be an option to have female/male only dorms. I got stuck with three guys in the dorm that made a snoring competition during the night.

Excellent location, very central on the royal mile. Close to shops, main attractions, and bus tours. Very helpful staff. Very good breakfast.
Only 2 washers and 1 functional dryer (out of 2) for the whole place. Squeaky floors even when we try to be quiet. In general the bathrooms are clean but many times housekeeping falling behind.

The pods are great! They give you a lot of privicy in a room for ten people, just don't book a pod if you feel uncomfortable in small spaces. The ladies bathroom on our floor had enough showers you only had to wait for the toillets sometimes, but it was never more than a few minutes. Lockers are numbered to match the beds. Be sure to go to reception, if yours has already been taken. It happened to me but I just took the next free one so then the guy who came after me didn't have a locker. As it turned out, whoever was there before me, locked it befor he/she left. The girl from reception was really nice about the misunderstanding, unlocked mine and the mistery was lifted. We had a nice time at the Code. The people and the overall vibe were great. We would definetley stay there again.

it was so shockingly clean? Not that i was expecting a dirty place or anything but it was actually cleaner than a lot traditional hotels i've stayed in. Also the wifi was insanely good, even in the lower floors, not a single issue. And as a bonus treat the guy who gave us the free tour (James) was insanely sweet <3
The only thing i may have an issue with was the lil' charging station you get at your pod. It's not like the hostel can do anything about it cause there's even a sticker that explains that it's just fire safety regulations and there was a couple regular wall sockets right in front of the bed but it was still kind of annoying, specially cause mine for some reason kept heating up and it started to freak me out. Still worth it.

The place was incredibly clean and there were lockers in the room which fit a cabin case and other pieces. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and as a female solo traveler. I was a bit worried beforehand but I had no need to be, I honestly loved it. The bathroom was spotless too. The location is also perfect. Right in the middle of the city. I cannot fault this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The pods are quite tight as I'm used to a double bed, so I found myself hitting my knees quite a lot.

I stayed in a double ensuite room. The room was small, but big enough (at least for one). The bed was very comfortable. Small hooks on the wall to hang items and one side table. Shelves in the bathroom was helpful. There were 2 stairwells and an elevator, which was nice.
For this big of a facility, it would be nice if they had a 2nd sink area in the kitchen, or at least a separate area for drinking water. There are 2 refrigerators, but they could get really full. It was pretty loud at night (outside noise), but I was there during The Fringe! I could close the window which did help.

The hostel is located perfectly, (and also is a repurposed jail? which is cool), it was quick and easy for me to see the main streets downtown and also to catch a bus to the beach and the shuttle to the airport stop was only a 6 min walk away. The kitchen/dining area was great for working during the day, the rooms were very comfortable and secure, and the bathrooms were cleaned very consistently. Free luggage storage was also greatly appreciated! If I ever come back to Edinburgh, I will surely rebook with CoDE.

This is a fabulously accessible hostel! I am deaf and have a neuro condition that makes some movement difficult. The Court staff could not have been more accommodating. When I checked in, they made sure I had a lower pod, I was near an accessible toilet and any problems to just come back to them. I was amazed at being offered a vibrating personal fire alarm, I have only had that once while travelling and it was a posh hotel. I cannot tell you the independence that something like that gives a deaf person. No need to sleep with hearing aids in! I also booked the beer tasting in The Lost Cellar below the hostel. What a bargain! It was £10 and we got 5 small beers, a great explanation of each one and some fabulous company and humour. The chap that ran my tasting was Padge (apologies if I lip read that wrong! ), and not only was he exceptionally knowledgeable about the beers, he absolutely put evryone at ease and had everyone chatting amongst themselves. He made sure I could see him to lipread at all times and checked in that I was ok and following along alright. I cannot say how much this trip boosted my confidence as a solo disabled traveler. the hostel is super clean, in perfect location and modern, while retaining so much of the buildings character and original use as a court and jail. I have already cancelled a booking elsewhere and will be staying here again this summer. What a great place and a huge well done to the team for inclusivity! 10/10 on everything!
I loved it all to be honest

This hostel is beautiful, clean, modern and super functional. The bathrooms were always clean, the bedroom (private with shared bathroom) was spacious and had more than enough room to store our things. They provided flip-flops as well as a superb sleeping mask and earplugs to make everything even more comfortable. It’s also situated in a great place! All in all it’s great value for money! 100% recommend.
The rooms aren’t isolated at all, so you hear every door opening, every conversation, every step and so on. They do provide earplugs for this reason but I personally couldn’t sleep with them on and so I was woken up quite a bit by people having conversations outside our door. In these cases you can write to reception so that they can remind people that you’re supposed to be quiet in the sleeping area. Nonetheless I would 100% book again, I might just bring my personal earplugs next time. Also a small note to the staff: Unfortunately I found most staff to not be the friendliest, with only some being the exception.
