The cereal selection was excellent, mine was served with fresh raspberries and strawberries. the toast was made with fresh brown bread . Instead of the usual english breakfast I asked for a bacon sandwich to take with me which was happily provided wrapped in foil. Susan, the manager, could not have been more helpful.

The property is very old and does not lend itself to bathroom facilities of a standard size, but they are new. No on site parking facilities, but has free public parking across the road.

Loveky old building with pub and restaursnt. Bedrooms are clean and tidy Food at night was good Breakfast was okay. Nothing spectacular but like being at home. It was cheap and for the money perfect for a night stop.. This is obviously the meeting place at night for the townfolk..very chatty

You had to park over the road and being an old building the stairs are steep. Not for the infirm There was nothing to dislike and you didnt want for anything but for what you paid it was fine

Sue, the landlady was outstanding - attentive to our every need, ran a splendid traditional country pub (not a glitzy gin palace). The regulars were great company, as were their dogs. There are few genuine old fashioned pubs like this left. Combined with good ensuite accommodation and an exceptional landlady it was just right for our elderly gentlemen's walking holiday in this lovely border area.

Nothing - for a group like ours it was just right. Fastidious seekers of luxury accommodation would doubtless need somewhere more like a five star international hotel!

Great value for money, good full breakfast (evening pub meals sold separately, also good value), friendly, helpful staff, ensuite room with quirky features due to the age of the building (Tudor?).

The room and front door locks are 'temperamental'. The doorways and staircase ceiling are low, so some head bumping occurs, but that goes with the age of the building.

Part of an Offa's Dyke walk and this is right on the trail, so we were away the next morning. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the pub downstairs does the hearty meals that you need after 8 hours of walking. The breakfasts are good too. It's an old building and you can feel the history.

No complaints really, it's good for the price and perfect for Offa's Dyke walkers.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good, well kept beer. Quirky old building. Good traditional pub. We did not have evening meal so can’t comment on that but breakfast was good traditional fare.

WiFi not so good. For us it was fine but if you don’t like dogs think again. If you have a dog this is the pub for you!

Friendly landlady and nice chatty staff and locals. Good breakfast. Nice clean rooms with good quality bedding and towels.

Only thing I would say is the Inn is not double glazed and the traffic can sometimes be heard outside. Having said that I think double glazing would spoil the look of this old Inn.

A simple traditional pub offering good local ales and local produce used in meals. Comfy beds.. Wirh lovely garden and friendly locals

There was nothing I didn't like. Sue the landlady is working hard in this current financial climate to offer good value accommodation Therefore the pub opens weekday evenings and restricted hours particularly on Sunday so check if staying Sunday regarding food.

Really excellent home cooking for dinner. Steak and kidney pudding had best steak, not just odd bits. Staff friendly and helpful.

Sloping floor meant that the bed was at an angle. But with an old building that is to be expected. There was a long wait for food, but no more than we had been warned.

We received a good full English breakfast. The hotel is in the town centre of Kingston, close to cafes & interesting old fashioned shops. The hotel itself was full of old world character with low wooden beams in the ceilings. There was a lively crowd of locals at the bar in the evening, they were open to some banter with us walkers on the Offa's Dyke National Footpath Trail.
