Family business all around: friendly, approachable, helpful. Breakfast was great (English, some cereals, yogurts, jam), room was quiet even if next to parking/road (no car driving by night). Couldn't hear any plain whilst inside. The travelling cot was amazing (comfortable, practical, brand new for what we knew). Great matteress, bedding and towels: everything was spotless. The pub and restaurant in the same building (I wore my slippers to go to the breakfast), with good, reasonable and tasty options (beers & food wise).

No black out curtain. We had to ask again for a cot (Booking didn't transfer our request, we should have contact them directly for that). More expansive on Booking.com than on their website directly.

This place is a hidden gem. The room was large and basic, with everything that we needed. Very clean, comfy beds, lots of extra pillows. The room had an iron and ironing board, which was very useful, expecially if your there for business. The bathroom was great with a bath and constant hot water. The bar connected to the rooms, was very nice, with a log fire, a great selection of drinks and very taste food, and the breakfast was excellent. A full English with the best sausages I have had for a long time. I need to know what they are. The best part of this place is the staff. I highly recommend this, expecially if your there for business.

Spotlessly clean, purpose built, modern extension to the Inn has been simply and thoughtfully designed and implimented. Very high laurel behind the rooms affords complete privacy ! Quiet at night. Easy access to dining room in the pub itself where "clean", hot food is served with charm. All the staff were extremely helpful and had a sense of fun and humour. Easy to find with the help of GPS. Ideal for my purpose

I would have liked plain yogurt for breakfast rather than flavoured and decaf tea in my room. Otherwise no negative comments.

The pub and resturant are a true gem you walk in the the door and the place puts it's arms around you .The family run Cock Inn stands out as it is so well run a mix of the knowledge and understanding and youthfull energy all working together with a smile. We had dinner which was great the beef was top draw.The room was not exciting but clean and did its job lets not forget this place is half the price of the norm .For me the bar and resturant is somewhere I would travel to and I would be there before I spent time in the room. I will return and tell freinds its Outstanding for quality and cost.ALWAYS HAPPY WITH THE COCK INN

Fautless

Where do I start, this is a fabulous Inn, one of the best places I've stayed in my many decades of staying at locations all over the UK. Brilliant room, comfy double bed and a first class bathroom. The staff are very welcoming, and I enjoyed having a couple of beers in the bar and chatting with friendly locals. Breakfast was superb and for the price I paid, the value just simply can't be beaten. If I am ever this way again, I'll make sure I book here.

The room was clean, spacious and the bed particularly comfortable. The staff were very good, friendly and helpful, which I like as a woman travelling alone. The evening meal was very good and the breakfast adequate, the coffee was good, but a better selection of fruit would have been welcome.

It was unfortunate that I arrived on the evening of England's semi final game in the Euros, so sadly, there was no evening meal available, which I really needed that night.

Rooms were nice, clean, airy, Breakfast was full English and was excellent. Free ample parking. Dinner closes at around 8 but the bar is open till 11. The staff was friendly. Overall excellent stay, good value for money. Close to main shops and market. Good for morning meetings or just journaling / staycation. Located in the city vicinity so no to expect countryside views or location.

Wifi could have been better by reaching the farthest rooms. The first day to check in could be extended till 11 pm.

It has always been a great location for me. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable and all I needed when travelling for work. The bed was comfy, the showers were good and the breakfast very good too. I have stayed many times and will continue to do so when needed.

The odd occasion some of the lights in the room may need a bulb replacing and whilst the bathrooms need a little refurb they are still clean so it has not been a problem to me. The pub can be a little busy on occasions with football on and as a lone female traveller I don't always feel comfortable to sit in and eat but again this is juts my own personal opinion.

Very personable and helpful staff, as I was arriving outside of the usual checking-in times (I was attending a wedding for much of the day). The breakfast was very good, and the service attentive. Simple, but nice selection of cereal, fruit, juice, etc. For the cooked breakfast, too many places just omit the meat if you are veggie, meaning you get a rather barren plate, but not here. Though they didn't have veggie sausages, etc, (which I don't care about anyway), I was provided with a full plate, with plenty of mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, eggs, etc.

Fantastic find on booking.com! I travel alone for my work and find it hard to find somewhere to stay where I feel totally at ease but this place was perfect. From entering the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, my room was lovely and warm, equipped with everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and I felt that at ease that I even had two evening meals in the restaurant which was beautiful! Highly recommend!
