The location was very central and although at the front of the building on the high street we experienced no issues with noise. Staff were all lovely and helpful, cleaners keep the rooms lovely and the beds are comfortable. A full size fridge , kettle and microwave were really useful to have. Has a lovely cellar bar called Ren's opposite, great live music and food, A short walk to the Quay with plenty of shops and restaurants

Although advised to leave electric key in to keep heating on, think it may have been on a timer as it went off and it was quite cold on times. Lot's of condensation on the single glazed windows.

The apartment was lovely, well equipped, and comfortable

Unfortunately, the windows have huge gaps in them, they are single glazed, and you hear everything outside. the Polish parish had a very loud gig, and the bell ringing practice was soooooo annoying. I would recommend spending some money and upgrading the windows to double glazing to limit the noise wherever possible. Minor gripe the Duvet was really small for a couple

The location is excellent for the docks or the nice pubs/bars/restaurants that Gloucester has on offer. We had a room in the courtyard at the rear of the property and it was very quiet. We are regular visitors to Gloucester as we have a holiday caravan a few miles away and were down to pay a bill on it, so decided to make a evening of it and saw this on Booking.com and decided to stay. This is going to become a regular thing now and may even spend a night here over Christmas. Overall its an excellent place to stay.

Leaving to go home was a little sad but we will return.

Location was great, couldn't be better. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. I liked the authentic atmosphere of the estate. My room was nice, clean and equipped with everything I needed. Great value for the price. Next time in Gloucester, I will just book with them without second thoughts.

The only problem was the heating. When I was there the weather was cold and the electrical heating system was insufficient because you can run it only when you plug your card in/only when you are there. But when I asked the staff for a solution they immediately provided a second card so it could remain plugged in even when I was out. The problem was solved quickly and I didn't have a problem again about the heating. A second thing was the bed. They can consider replacing the mattress with a more comfortable one. It was a little worn out.

After a dingy looking reception, it was a relief to find a modern and clean room with all the facilities one might need for the night. Having a fridge, microwave, cutlery (even a cork screw) was a considerate touch. The bed was firm which was perfect for me.

Reception was a bit shabby and it was a little bit inconvenient to have to go outside to get to my room *especailly with the British weather!). Other guests said they had no hot water, but I did.

Although we though we had booked an apartment via booking.com, on arrival, we were told that we had booked a hotel room? The choice was ours for an extra £80 for the apartment, we stayed with the room and were highly delighted. We were given a ground floor courtyard room which was very large with a very modern and delightfully clean en-suite. The room was equipped with a fridge and microwave. 44 Southgate St. Isn't quite were Google maps show but in a great position with easy access to shops and the docks. Forget to say, the hotel day and night staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Quick and easy access to the multi storey car park.

Initially difficult to find. Bed comfortable but bottom sheet inadequate.

I stayed the night before an exam and she was great at sorting everything for me and it allowed me to be stress free • I had a great experience here!

• The door to my room was a little jammed so it made a loud noise any time I closed it, but that was a minor thing for me (only hope it didn’t bother the other guests!)

Normally a single room at just £52 is small and sparse. This one was a good size, fully equipped with microwave and full size fridge, cutlery and crockery, tea coffee and biscuits, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was likewise a good size and spotlessly clean. Excellent central location, close to the Quays and the cathedral. Welcoming and helpful receptionist. Excellent pub, the Robert Raikes, a couple of doors away.

Woken by screeching seagulls quite early but the disturbance didn't last long. Lots of vagrants in the city centre; none seemed threatening but as a female solo traveller it made me a little nervous.

We have stayed here before ( different room) this was Excellent accommodation too,it was a lovely little room but had everything you needed, fridge,microwave,plates,proper cutlery,desk to eat at, shower was brilliant, stand up or sit down and shower, bed was fairly comfortable, bit unfair to compare as we just got a brand new mattress at home but it wasn’t bad, what I also love about this hotel is the location, completely in high street but don’t hear anything from pubs nearby when you are in your room.

Bed was ok, not the greatest but definitely not the worst, no noise when you move, which is a bonus , it helps when you need to move and sleep next to a light sleeper .

Lovely to have direct access to the courtyard outside, fan in the room to cope with really hot weather, room was really clean and the location of the hotel was great for the venue we attended all weekend

Not ideal that the hotel had no parking of their own or way to validate the external car park so it ended up being expensive to stay there all weekend. The shower took an incredibly long time to warm up and as such was pretty cold until it was time to exit. Beds were very firm which is personally not what I choose but understand this can't be helped.
