Room was excellent, bathroom facilities were, er, shall we say interesting, the wash basin hot tap would either spray water or play a tune - not both at the same time. There was the fiasco of signing for anything at the bar so on the departure day it was likely you had a pocket full of receipts to rummage through. Surely, if you get drinks pay for them. Then there was the request to settle the account the day before departure, that was a new one on us! Also, service charge, added to the bill - thought one paid that if one was very satisfied, if this is the case soon we can expect the taxi driver to say, ‘That’s £15 plus £1.50 please’

The one member of staff, who, when asked, ‘could we move from this table please, we’re in a draught said ‘ why, every one else said it’s to hot’

Friendly, welcoming check-in Little extras in room made it exceptional: handwritten note from housekeeping, bathroom toiletries really lovely, Roberts radio by bed, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. Clean! Fabulous breakfast - had eggs benedict which was delicious. Ate in restaurant second night. They were very busy so service slow but had fish and chips which was very good. Team very friendly and professional.

Rooms a bit noisy. Could hear tv in next room and low level talking. Table for dinner was sticky with marmalade from breakfast. It feels like the restaurant, bar and seating areas need a deep clean...to get rid of slight stickiness that the surfaces around the place had

Friendly helpful staff. Large comfortable room and bed. Nice modern and clean bathroom with nice toiletries. Excellent Full English. Good ingredients cooked with a good hand. Tea and coffee very good. Restaurant a good range of choice and generally very good cooking. Free easily accessible car parking.

Two points - why after 3 days could not confetti be vacuumed from the staircase. A hiccup with the restaurant over £5 for Chefs Selection of Breads - 4 slices of stale bread and a very appetizing pita bread. Was knocked off the bill but would have preferred something tasty. Only ordered as hungry and there was a long wait for food as two large parties in.

Check in manager was lovely, very efficient and went above and beyond to help. Bed was comfortable, a request for a quiet room was actioned. Room had blackout blind and thick curtains so was nice and dark.

Breakfast- had to book a time in advance which was a bit annoying but is obviously is to keep the demand on the kitchen at a manageable level. On Sunday morning apparently some people hadn't arrived when booked which meant that the staff were run off their feet and some people had to wait ages to be served. Quality was fine, but why not make tea and coffee self-service so at least that doesn't need staff?

Nice, clean, well equipped and spacious room. The restaurant provided a good evening meal and a good breakfast in a nice setting. The staff were all friendly, polite and efficient.Good parking arrangements.

Well the floor boards squeak a lot! The room above had a visitor up at 6.30am and it woke me. However my husband slept thro it! Also I had the impression there is not much insulation between rooms. Fortunately no noisy folks staying! I realize the building is very old and historic so I doubt if much can be done on this issue.

The Breakfast was lovely, but the Toaster was a little faulty, as it seemed to get stuck and burn some of the Toast. The staff were helpful in the Bar and the Restaurant area and brought us a Towel when we asked for one.

When we got there, there was no one on the Desk to book in, so my Husband booked us in as he could see the Paper and key ready for our Room. We were too late to obtain anything from the Restaurant, but they were very happy to let us eat our Takeaway Pizza in the Bar and Restaurant area, They didn't have any Dry Martini, so we managed with A Bottle of Rosa wine.

The hotel was great, felt very homely. Convenient for my destination, big car park, so overall very good.

Food. I had chicken pie with chorizo. Beautiful presentation. Veg was luke warm. the chips were boiling hot and the pie was absolutely stuffed with chicken. Service was slow. The pastry looked uncooked and was too heavy for me - had to leave most of it. So not a complaint just didn't suit me. When I mentioned it they said it was suet pastry which explains it. I found one tiny piece of chorizo in the pie so was disappointed..........amazingly there was no offer of discount...the service was EXCELLENT......so a mixed bag of a review

Had everything possible for a comfortable weekend stay. The chocolate and toiletries were amazing thank you. Excellent breakfast choice very spoilt felt very looked after.Large car park so no problems with parking. Great town and location to visit the coast and lovely villages. Will definitely be visiting again in future.

It wasn't an issue it was just our choice, the menu in the evening felt a little limited.in our opinion. Also there were some great restaurants in the town so we only dinned in once.

Closeness to town centre nice large car park. You could just walk on to the town high street from front door. Medium size room and comfy bed. A good choice of options for breakfast

Although a fan provided room was very hot but not hotel fault . Window only opened a short distance assume so that you did not fall out . Previous visits bottle of water were beside the bed which would have been useful this trip. (Money saving Ideal in these expensive times)

We have visited this hotel for many years as we have family living locally. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. Food is excellent - we really like the new Restaurant Manager. Reception staff well informed and helpful. Staff have a good knowledge of the region and will make recommendations when requested.

Nothing. Standards have always been high and continue to be be so.
