The view from our rooms was stunning. Despite being on a busy road it was relatively quiet at night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good, and spacious rooms. The beer was from a local brewery which was far tastier than some more well known brands. The bathroom in the rooms was kitted out with full sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc. which was a niche touch. All round a pleasant stay for an overnight stop.

The walls were very thin and you could hear people moving about which took some getting used to, but the bed was so comfortable that you soon drift off.

The location is stunning. The room was subtley highland in decor which I liked a lot. Dinner was wonderful - 'garden burger' and home-made chips. Only place we stayed where the chips were not frozen. The vegetarian burger was off the scale delicious.

Breakfast was good quality food but was on the cool side (although kept in heated containers and the plates were on a heater too) but it was a small point. Staff were a tad zealous in wanting to collect plates (I was still eating dinner when my husband's plates were whisked away but it was obviously something they'd been trained to do).

excellent , mind blowing place to stay . the staff was so helpful to guide us to the location . the beds were so comfortable and with greatest view from the room. The free wifi was so comforting . The toilets were so clean and washed . Hot water shower even at 11pm was bonus and so relaxing. The breakfast was good , with excellent eggs and other options with great coffee and chocolate milk for the kids. The place is situated among tghe hills and after the conversative area. Overall the experience is exceptional.

nothing .. everything was just execellent.

Handy location, rooms were clean and safe. Nicely decorated with plenty room. Beds and bedding were comfortable and room had good facilities. Shower was brilliant! Restaurant had an interesting menu and the staff were wonderful. The food was well made and the chef was good- try some of the traditional Romanian dishes!

Not a complaint as the food was fresh and good quality but it was a little on the expensive side for some dishes but the deserts in particular. Also the opening times are a little restrictive but again these are not complaints - more observations.

The room, bathroom and facilities throughout the accommodation were immaculately clean, Really liked special touches like shower gel and biscuits in room.

Our room, room 5, was very small & I feel should be marketed as a single room or a small double. With the bed being against the wall it makes it difficult to get in and out of bed with 2 of you. There was nowhere to sit or put clothes other than the bed. There is also very limited space to put luggage without it being a trip hazard for getting to and from the bathroom or out of the door.

Room was fine for our needs and had a small decking area that allowed a breath of fresh air in the morning and to watch the local wildlife, which for us included seeing a pair of circling golden eagles. Dinner was good offered from a varied and interesting menu., not every hotel offers a full Transylvanian menu?! Location is a bit stark sitting on its own in the shadow of the Loch Glascarnoch dam and at the side of the A835 but it allows you to feel the solitude of the area, particularly walking to your room after dinner with just the stars for company.

This place is a perfect stop off or base when exploring the highlands. It has authenticity because though there is a Scottish theme, they have avoided the kitsch potted version aimed at tourists, and instead focus on good food, polite effective staff, and comfortable pragmatic rooms. Tidelines was playing in the bar, they serve Belhaven Best, and the food was excellent. For the loacation this was really good value for money and I felt relaxed and at ease here. Thoroughly recommend.

The rooms were ideal for our purpose (somewhere to sleep and eat between hills), but this is not a boutique hotel or romantic getaway.

Run by two Romanian couples, the room seem to anticipate what the traveller needs, from placement of the TV to the bath amenities. The Sunday roast was so good (perfectly cooked leg of lamb) we booked dinner and the "Transylvanian" items are delicious. Try the cabbage rolls. Breakfast was good, too and the hospitality was outstanding. They offered us glasses of Prosecco for our anniversay, which when we turned down they offered after dinner coffees to take to our room. Great, modern updates to a 400 year old historic drovers' inn!

The website made booking a table a little confusing because it offers tables by number, which you've never seen. But they make up for it by saying "no problem" when you arrive.

Nice hotel to stay for one night if you are on a road trip through Scotland. Plenty parking spaces, quiet location even though directly besides the road, but there is not much traffic :-). Nice breakfast buffet and choices. The restaurant food at night was very good.

The room was so small we hardly had a space for our overnight bags. There is literally nothing for some time expect this hotel and a lot of scenery.

I expected the Hotel, since it located on a busy main road to be a 'motel' catering for all tastes, but without much to recommend it. We were surprised to find the Hotel to be welcoming, the room was good, comfortable and set back from the road. The dinner (slow cooked venison) was excellent. The staff were amazing, considering their need to multi-task from booking guests, room service and restaurant service. Do they ever rest?
