We enjoyed our stay and would come again. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I am particularly grateful for the gluten free options at dinner and breakfast. Exemplary I have to say, very flexible and several options to choose from.

A word of warming. Stay away from the 'dinner included' option when booking. You basically get a credit for the restaurant. If you are not a big eater, then you won't need the full credit and it ends up poor value for money. If you go for 3 courses, you will likely need to pay extra. We were told in the restaurant that we could use the credit for a drink. At check-out it transpired that it is not correct and we had to pay extra for the drinks. This annoyance aside, I recommend eating at the hotel, food was lovely. Just don't pre-book it.

We had the room with a view as we booked - King room with Balcony.- Room 12. Ensuite had a bath so that was also a nice surprise. room was lovely but there is no lift at this hotel. Plenty of parking with no charge. Beautiful large room with a large balcony and tastefully decorated inline with the hotel features. Bar was lovely and welcoming and breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice, Fresh Fruit, Nuts, fruit, cereal, pastries and plant based milk for Teas and coffees. Breakfast was fast service, fresh and hot. Plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegan for us to choose from. Staff were very friendly and open to requests

Loved everything!!

The breakfast and the dinner on our arrival were amazing!! Tasteful and nicely presented! Beyond our expectations! The staff very friendly and helpful. Who particularly stood out was the lady at the bar and serving our dinner and breakfast and also the cleaning lady - she has the most beautiful attitude and smile and was very warm in our interaction- her passion for her work was impeccable- the cleanliness of the room outstanding. Room 10 very spacious and comfortable. Easy parking, open bar, restaurant…easy relax after out long trip. Very pleasant bedsheets. We had a very lovely stay from all points!!!

The staff made my stay something truly special. I had gone there to celebrate my birthday, and they just levelled it up with a thoughtful card under my door in the morning from everyone. The stairs were challenging, but you expect that in old buildings. I embraced the staff there, and felt so welcome. I will definately be back.

I felt bad for staff being overwhelmed at busy times. If anything, management should have had more staff on. Those that were working, did an absolutely amazing job under stressful circumstances.

We had a lovely large room at the front of the hotel. It had a large balcony, a refurbished bathroom and a really comfortable four poster. It was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was good and we also ate in the bar. Other than a new staff member who was learning which meant it was a bit slow to order at the bar everything was good.

We had a close encounter with some wasps. We discovered that there were some works happening in the fields nearby which had displaced a lot of wasps. This wasn't a problem other then not being able to use the balcony until after dark. A small sign warning guests would have been useful. Other than that everything was lovely.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we booked the hotel ghost tour and the host was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and the families who had owned it over the years, I can thoroughly recommend booking the dungeon for that intimate dinning experience, wonderful. After the tour our ihost/guide nvited us through into bar for a short whiskey lesson, this certainly didn't disappoint, top marks to the hotel, the staff and a personal thank you to our ghost and whiskey host, would highly recommend to all travellers looking for something a tad different to the norm 😁😁😁😁

I cannot think of a single thing to complain about whilst we were there

The staff here is exceptional. I felt like I was staying at a family members home. Rodney went above and beyond with helping us navigate our stay. His Ghost Tour was 5 euro, and it was supposed to be 30 -45 minutes. He spent almost 3 hours with us, and he was definitely the shining star of our entire trip to Scotland, and this establishment. He knew so much history about the grounds, and the entire city and surrounding area for that matter. Charlie was also exceptional, helping us get settled in our first night and helping us with transportation needs when we needed to get to Inverness very very early in the morning for our bus tour to the Highlands. I felt like she had been working there forever, she was so knowledgeable about everything, and when I asked, she had only been there a short time. Arlene was super nice also in helping us get things ready for our departure. I honestly could have stayed here for two solid weeks, I loved the grounds, the Castle, our room was incredible! The view from the balcony every morning with coffee and evening was just superb. Being able to sit around the fire at night and have drinks and meet other people from around the world was so cool. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! When I return to Scotland, I wouldn't thing twice about "where to stay".

Leaving so soon. :(

it’s a great old castle, unlike some meticulously restored and pedantically decorated castles in the area, this one retains some of its old charm and roughness. I can understand it’s not everyone’s liking but I love to discover a new passage, secret room or spot every time I stay there. ghost story adds to the vibe.

menu in the bar is a bit greasy spoon because it’s old and floors and creaky, if people in the room next to you get up at 6am, you will do as well.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Tulloch Castle. The staff was great! Everyone is friendly and inviting. The ghost/history tour with Rodney was so interesting and fun. It was wonderful to see someone so passionate about the area and history. Also incredible knowledge of Whiskey. The room was comfortable and met all of our needs. We had two breakfasts and one dinner there and the food was good, no complaints. This is no way a knock be realize this is a very old building and is not perfectly updated. That really is part of the charm I was looking for and enjoyed. We would definitely go back!

We loved the old-castle cosiness, and the extravagant use of the Clan Davidson tartan everywhere - as window curtains, carpet, etc. Who doesn't love a castle that still looks like a castle?! We also really enjoyed the friendly bar with a bartender who knows her whiskies. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Beds were really comfortable, bathrooms big and very well fitted out.

It is very difficult to find hospitality staff of all kinds at present, but it would be great if the dining experience were up to the rest of the experience of staying in a quality place. The dinner was certainly not bad, but not as good as I was hoping for.
