Breakfast was fine A good enough choice. The room was clean, comfortable and warm. A lovely lounge to sit in after our evening meal but as the hotel caters for coach parties there sometimes wasn't so much space. Bar well stocked with whiskies and local bottles of beer. Not much draft beer (as opposed to lager). The menu was the same each night - a 'special' or two would have added to the variety. All the staff were great. Very friendly, very helpful. They are a definite bonus and would make me return.

I would have liked a different evening meal menu occasionally, perhaps a couple of 'specials' each evening.

we enjoyed our weekend stay. like the location, liked and decor of the hotel. Loved the food, and the staff were excellent!

some places could do with a bit TLC. Understandably, for such big place, it will be a big project for upgrading it.

We had a very pleasant weekend at the Nethy Bridge Hotel. It is an old building and needs a little bit of care and attention but out room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was obviously recently upgraded. Breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choice and we had dinner in the bar both nights- again a good menu and not too expensive. The staff were excellent throughout and could not do enough for us. The hotel is dog friendly (lots of dogs there) and plenty of way marked walks locally along the River Nethy and in the woods. We are hoping to return soon.

The building is a vast Victorian pile and in some public areas in need of a coat of paint and looks a bitty tatty but this did not spoil the our weekend and in some ways added to the charm. If you are looking for high class luxury this is not the place for you but if you want to enjoy a great weekend then recommended

I went for a weekend break with my husband. The hotel was as it states 3 star. However, the service given is most certainly 5 star. The staff at the reception made you feel extremely wellcome on arrival and could not do enough to ensure everything was as comfortable and relaxing as possible during our stay. The rooms appeared partially renovated and although still showed little signs of wear and tear due to its age, it was immaculately clean, brilliant soft thick white towels, lovely tea / coffee tray with shortbread. Smart TV and free wi - fi. The gardens are stunning, and it shows they are definitely well maintained. Would most definitely highly recommend this hotel. Thank - you for a lovely weekend.

No small table for kettle. The hospitality tray was very good. However, having a dedicated side table for this near a socket would be totally beneficial and enhance the room.

Came accross this place on booking.com after getting caught in heavy snow and needed somewhere to stay for the night. Pulled off the road, found the nearest place that looked decent but didn’t cost the earth. Was mildly concerned that it only had a ‘good’ score - was expecting a leak in the bedroom or it not to be the cleanest or something but I couldn’t have been more wrong! Was a little more than we wanted to pay but worth every penny. Booked at 7pm, arrived 7.30pm, straight through to the restaurant for the most scrumptious dinner, great choice of drinks too. Then we completed check in (breeze) and went up to our room. We stayed in room 115. Big double bed for us and a separate area with two single beds for the children (they’d been sharing a sofa bed in other accommodation we’d stayed in along our trip, so this was an absolute winner). A TV in each area so we didn’t have to watch what the kids were watching :-) I hate being cold and the whole place was so toasty warm and welcoming. Lovely and clean. Nice bathroom, a bit small but completely adequate. After the best night’s sleep, we went down for a fabulous breakfast (included in the price we paid), then we were on our way. It’s a little dated (traditional) but filled with character and we loved it. An absolute gem of a place, all staff completely present and attentive at all times. All smiling and chatty. A pleasure to stay there.

Travellers who book a single room often get quite a raw deal, which feels like a sort of punishment, by being accommodated in a tiny room with basic facilities at disproportionate expense. It made a cheering change, which was much appreciated on a wet winter evening, to get a warm, spacious double room with, immaculate bedlinen and lovely en suite. Despite few guests there was an open fire blazing in the bar, friendly welcoming staff, and a real feeling of hospitality. This is a beautiful old hotel, with many of its original features, in a pleasant location. The bed was very comfortable and a real highlight was the cooked breakfast, which was exceptionally tasty and well-cooked.

Personally I'd have preferred no background music playing in the lounge, but others might feel differently. The public areas were cosy downstairs but a bit too warm upstairs.

Absolutely stunning hotel in a lovely location. Room was very spacious & clean & comfortable. ALL the staff were so polite & welcoming it was just a shame we couldn’t stay longer as we were touring Scotland. Breakfast was delicious with a choice of cooked breakfast, cereals via self service. We played snooker and felt totally relaxed. By far the best hotel on our visit to Scotland. Thank you to all the staff from check in to bar, dinner & breakfast you’re all doing a fantastic job👏👏

The room had been recently refurbished and very well done without losing the character of this old hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The public lounges were large and more than adequate for socialising or quite contemplation. Overall, the atmosphere was of a well appointed traditional highland hotel with both charm and modern additions. The location was ideal offering a much better value stay than in nearby Aviemore. Breakfast was continental style, self service with more than adequate choice to suit most tastes.

While there was nothing that would put me off returning, the carpets in the public area are becoming a bit worse for wear and could be replaced but this is not something I consider to be a significant issue for a budget conscious traveller.

All staff were very friendly and helpfull, food was really nice.view from room.

On arrival the outside of the building was lovely ,but entering the building the reception area and lounge area to left were very dreary and dated, but the staff were extremly friendly and helpfull. On finding our way to our room it was very clean but decor was tired .Our room was clean spacious and the bed and pillows were comfortable,t.v worked well plenty of coffee and tea bags. The dining room was very nice and well organized with lovely helpfull staff, breakfast was very nice and the one evening meal we had while staying there was very nice too.The area in front of the hotel had a lovely garden area to sit in the sun.

We liked the atmosphere of the hotel. Playing cards in the lobby and reading information about the building and the local area. It was a very nice place to stay for a weekend and get away from our busy lives and slow down a bit. Very good location for accessing the nearby Cairngorms and munros or woodland walks and lochs. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and although the hotel looks a bit dated in places we felt this added to its charm. The staff were really nice and seemed professional. We had dinner at the hotel on Saturday night and we really enjoyed all the dishes. We felt that there was a good selection to choose from and that prices were reasonable. The bar was open till 11pm which allowed us to have a few drinks after a long day hiking. Great overall experience.
