This country house is stunning, set within the most beautiful garden and with lovely views all around. The house has been finished to a very high standard, with lovely furniture and nice period pieces. The whole house is original with stunning wooden panelling throughout. The bedroom was huge and the four poster bed extremely comfortable. We couldn't fault this place, everything was top notch. Our breakfast in the morning was delicious and we had a bay window table overlooking the stunning garden. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and extremely kind to our dog Alfie. They greeted him with a dog biscuit and in the room they had laid out a little mattress, blanket and drinking bowl, and another bonio biscuit bone. We will definitely come back to this very special hotel.
There was nothing we didn't like, everything was perfect and every comfort thought of.

Charming, spacious and you feel like you are a guest at a private country home. Did not feel hotel like. Lovely grounds to relax and take in the area. Breakfast was more than excellent- lots of choice and made fresh for you. hosts were very accommodating and provided great suggestions for dinner and even booked a table for us at a local restaurant
Nothing. Everything was more than we expected

Iain and Elaine (managers) were great- friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the house, built in 1901. My breakfast kippers were delicious and the black pudding served with my husband's breakfast was the best he ate in all of Scotland. The rooms are furnished beautifully and give a luxurious country estate feel, as are the shared lounge and dining spaces downstairs. There are also a large range of drinks available until about 10 pm. Our stay was a very memorable experience- thanks in large part to the wonderful hospitality. We asked for and were given recommendations for dinner in town, and we ended up at the Craig Bar, with a pies only menu (they are delicious) and a very entertaining manager. (We were warned that he could sometimes say inappropriate things, but us Australians thought that he was hilarious!)
Nothing- everything was wonderful.

We had a warm welcome Although a country house, there were no airs and graces.but all the rooms were magnificent and spotless.Obviously a Labour of love for the owners. The bathroom was amazing with beautiful Spa bath , television and good size shower. Oh and they had a good selection of local beers and whisky.
I couldn't find fault with anything and I can't say that very often. It was a stop-off on our way home but if we had a chance I would go back and spend a few days there, it was so relaxing.

We loved the tranquil location and being in nature was amazing. The hotel is small, friendly clean and comfortable. It exceeded all our expectations. We would want to come back and stay longer. Ian the owner was very pleasant and full of wonderful stories. The grounds and relaxing atmosphere was so refreshing. It’s an ideal getaway from it all

Beautiful old country house set back in its own grounds. Treated wonderfully by the hosts on arrival and throughout our stay. Room exceptionally clean and breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to stay in the area. Will definitely be back
There was nothing we disliked about our stay at the Tigh na Sgiath

The breakfast was excellent. Everything you would expect. I particularly liked the fact that hot toast was brought out at the right time rather than dumping on the table at the beginning which usually means it’s cold when you come to eat it. 😊 The service and attitude, friendliness, flexibility were exceptional. Lovely people, incredible hosts.
The rooms have been modernised but the common areas are a little dated.

The owner is lovely and made us feel welcome. Room is big, there was a good shower and a whirlpool bath. Breakfast was very nice. Garden and the views were wonderful. My partner found the place very charming, it's a bit too "vintage" for me but it's a matter of taste.
It's a bit isolated, so you need a car for everything (which could be a plus for someone). The bed could do with a new mattress and pillows.

The staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The building is beautiful, the breakfast served to your table was lovely, the room was immaculate and very comfortable, but the bathroom was the best surprise of all, absolutely huge, heated floor, massive shower, and even bigger jacuzzi bath, just wonderful.
WiFi connection wasn't the best, but a very insignificant worry to be honest!

Our room was super, breakfast was excellent and so nicely presented. Iain and Elaine were superb hosts, so friendly and welcoming. The hotel was lovely, comfortable, stylish and relaxing and had a great selection of books, lots of bird life and red squirrels in the garden. A beautiful, tranquil setting.
We liked everything. It was obvious that alot of care and attention had been paid to every aspect of the hotel.
