I booked this accommodation for 2 reasons : 1. It was close to locations I needed to visit being originally from the area. 2. The reputation for its food If you are booking for a bed and breakfast only experience ,then Star Inn fits the bill perfectly. The cooked full Scottish breakfast is particularly good and in my experience unbeatable in the area. There is a small general store about 20 metres away and a pharmacy right next door. There is also a Spar shop a short walk away. Ardersier is a,quiet village and an ideal location for easy access to all the tourist points of interest. The rooms are extremely comfortable, modern with a fridge which was most convenient The shower was fantastic!! The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful with any request. Great experience overall and I would stay again.

On the downside there was no other food available, due to severe staffing issues and so with little else available in the village you will need to head elsewhere. Most of the nearest options are in Inverness making transport essential , as it is about 10km away.

The family owners were all very welcoming and the staff super helpful. The decor was not to our taste, but a lot of thought had been put into the facilities which we greatly appreciated (and is sadly lacking in many hotels!). From under floor heating, to proper dressing tables and bathrobes, and very well-appointed bathrooms, no expense had been spared. Breakfast was very good!

There had unfortunately been a mix up in the booking, which appeared to be the fault of Booking.com, as we had been allocated a smaller room than booked. The owner was happy to resolve by changing our room for the second night onwards.

The room was lovely, very well represented, facilities great (tea/coffee, water, mini-fridge, etc.) and the location was ideal for both easy access to various local tourist attractions as well as both Inverness, Nairn & Inverness Airport. The value for money was excellent. The rooms are in a separate building to the pub/restaurant and this is an excellent idea as if you fancy an early night (we'd been up since 2am) then there's virtually no noise. Parking can be slightly tricky but the staff were more than helpful in finding me an on-street parking space. The pub was lively, cosy and the patrons very friendly & welcoming (as were the staff). The food was excellent (both the purchase dinner & included breakfast), but be aware that the portions are very generous (again, excellent value for money)! We stayed for one night but it was truly a pleasure and would definitely recommend without question. ☺️

There was nothing to dislike.

The rooms are near Inverness Airport, convenient to reach by car. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We liked the ‘extras’ such as a mini fridge, toiletries, bottled water, choice of biscuits and coffee. There was a good choice of hot or cold for breakfast. The staff were helpful.

Unfortunately, an evening meal was unavailable although this may be temporary. We would have liked the art work in our room to be Scottish themed, but that’s just personal choice.

Lovely, large room per usual! Suggest making it a Super king bed when next changed out as there is room for it 😀. Love the room fridge - so handy for nibbles. Food always very good there!

Only disappointing part is the kitchen is now closing so while their very good breakfast will still be on & the pub open for drinks, their great menu & wonderful food is now off, for now 😞. But we'll still recommend it & stay there in future & eat out elsewhere.

Our room AND BATH were modern and spacious, obviously intended and designed to be an inn - not converted bedrooms of an old house. (I think all are upstairs) Seemed new. Smelled LOVELY. Very refreshing. Sian (bartender and apparently does-everything-gal) and the Manager (also bartender and does-everything-gal) intentionally hustled to and succeeded at meeting every expectation. They were competent, courteous, friendly and fun. We were hugged when we left. The meals were exceptional, and the bar is a wonderful, spacious, bright, bustling gathering place. If you see Shannon or Vickie there, remind Shannon that Vickie is actually the fun one. Argue with Louis if you dare.

Departing!

Clean and comfortable room located in a separate building across the road from the pub. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast and dinner. Located in a small seaside village near Inverness airport. Quiet at night. Modern room and bathroom.

The room was very hot and I found it hard to sleep at night. Staff have done their best to rectify this by providing an air conditioning unit and a fan, but I was still too hot. The bathroom tap seemed faulty as it sprayed the whole room with water if turned on too quickly.

Had a very nice time, staff are very friendly and helpful particularly the lady (Housekeeper)that welcomed us. Sorry, I didn’t get her name but nothing was too much trouble. She went off to look for a bottle opener for me ( ps. I managed to borrow one from a local shop, brilliant community) Anyway back on track, rooms were spotless very nicely furnished, fridge is a great touch as are the robes. Breakfast was superb and will certainly set you up for the day. Full Scottish, choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit and croissants. The chef was also very personable and a credit to the hotel. We also had dinner on both nights which were both excellent, big portions and high quality ingredients. It was a fantastic stay and I will definitely return, a beautiful area too, well worth a visit. Very convenient for Inverness and the airport too.

Only two things wrong, soundproofing wasn’t great although most guests were respectful there were two girls that came in late and talked very loudly half the night. They phoned over in the morning to cancel breakfast so I hope they got the hangovers they deserved. There is also a fair bit of road noise but it’s not so bad during the night as there’s little traffic. Maybe a bit of noise when the bar closes but only heard this on the Friday night. The other slight problem which I forgot to report when there was the heating, (probably a timer problem) it was 22 degrees at 3 am and I couldn’t alter it, it was cooler by morning but uncomfortable in the night.

A lovely family hotel. The staff is both welcoming and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast in the pub just over the street, also owned by the same family. The food was a combination of hearty and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay in spite of a room with was a bit dark because situated on the ground floor.

The room was a bit dark because located on the ground floor and historical buildings have small windows. It wasn't really a problem since we only stayed for a night.

The breakfast was AMAZING. I think this was one of the best prepared breakfasts we had the whole 10 days we were in Scotland and we traveled quite a bit to B&Bs. Rooms were newly renovated, clean, and comfortable.

The decor in the rooms seemed a bit odd for the location--they were a very glittery, silver, glitzy, glam vibe, but the hotel restaurant itself has a hunting lodge vibe. Just a strange juxtaposition, but everything was clean and new. We took two rooms. One was on the hot (temperature side) and it's not possible to adjust the heat. Fan was provided.
