Lovely warm welcome. Bedroom on top floor. Not the biggest, but more than adequate. Lovely and clean and welcoming. Bedlinen was pristine white and amazing. Duvet so soft and really nice fluffy towels. Bathroom fittings to highest standard. Good tea/coffee facilities. Had a beautiful Sunday lunch just after we arrived. All waiting staff were friendly and the food was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. Lovely waitress, very good choice. Food was very nice. Would recommend a stay here.

We would have liked to have been able to have an evening meal on the Sunday, so we could go out for the afternoon when we arrived, but not a huge problem as we had only decided to go away and booked a few hours before. To be fair to the hotel, we did received an email advising of the food times for the Sunday, but didn't see this until after we arrived.

Breakfast was really good - made to order after choosing from a menu. Room was a family room - double bed with a single also and private shower/ bathroom. Was a bit noisy outside and also with other guests walking past outside corridor.

Having option for an earlier check in would have suited us better as we had to do an extra drop off with the car rather than driving to hotel direct. Would also have been useful to give guests an extra bit of info re local events like big concerts/ horse racing events making booking a taxi back in the evening after our event very tricky. (Clearly not the fault of the venue but would be an extra bonus bit of info for future guests to think about.)

staff very friendly on arrival, room extremely clean small but comfortable, evening meal was fantastic such excellent food.

our room on the first floor was on route to the Kitchen and it was as if a herd of wild animals were stomping past on a very regular basis, this was the staff delivering food , check your room booking and move up stairs!!!!!!!!!! Breakfast was a shambles, very slow service and terrible tasting food ( greasy) , tables not laid up food order was wrong, but to wait for correction would have taken to long . No parking, it’s public car park opposite if there’s a space ( pain)

A great location, the owners were extremely friendly and their staff are a credit to their management style, as they are very friendly and polite. The food was excellent evening meal and breakfast too. I asked if our family who live near by could join us for breakfast and the answer was no problem,it was lovely relaxing way to start the day.

There could be better lighting in the bathroom and downstairs toilets it was very dull possibly try LED light bulbs? I did feel a little cold in the dining room but I wouldn't expect heating on in August .

I had an excellent stay at this hotel (stayed 2 nights). The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and well-presented. Breakfast was delicious! My bedding and refreshment table was topped up in my second night before I arrived back, without me even asking! I appreciated this. I will be back if I happen to be around Lincoln in the future :)

Parking spaces are very limited

Lovely location, staff so cheerful, helpful and friendly. Excellent quality food. Comfortable, clean, well stocked with tea/coffee/water, etc. Beautifully quiet room. This was my second stay, and I really cannot speak more highly of this hotel and restaurant.

We are over 70, and we struggled somewhat to manage the steep staircase to the 2nd floor. Next time I'll ask for a room on the 1st floor. My son took our bags up when we arrived, and when we checked out the staff were happy to bring our bags down for us. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff.

I booked a small 1 person single bed room. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and the bathroom. I had considered upgrading but I'm glad I didn't as there was no need. Dinner was delicious. If you do one thing at the George have dinner. We needed to be somewhere at 8am so the manager kindly agreed to serve us breakfast at 7am on a Saturday. Great service.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Unlike other old hotels, the George hotel has very modern bathrooms. Very convenient location to visit Lincoln and the antique centre. I am not an early bird but the manager has managed to offer me a late breakfast. The hotel restaurant makes very very nice food. I love the soft shell crab! The portion size is very generous as well. Recommended!

The accomodation is very nice, set in the quiet town square. The evening meal was beautifully presented and very tasty. Breakfast was excellent. Whilst the booking details said there is parking it's actually in the square not "on-plot" so don't drive through the "entrance" archway, as you'll have to reverse out and it's tight.

The bed mattress was too soft for my taste.

Beautiful, large room with good facilities overlooking the market place where everyday life was going on. Dinner on the day of our arrival was very good and the dining room and bar was just about full - not bad for a Wednesday night. Breakfast the next morning was excellent with a good choice of breakfast items.

There's not much traffic at night but what there was, was heard loud and clear.
