Very nice, newley renovated pub/ hotel. We stayed at room 5 and it had such great vibes. It was perfect for a longer stay as the room felt spacious and well designed. The tea and coffee facility in the room was luxury: yummy biscuits and quality chocolates!!! Breakfast was divine, well cooked, quality ingredients and beautiful country interior design. Though it is close to highway and it is a busy pub it was quiet and we got great night of sleep. The bed was comfortable. The staff super helpful and lovely. It was a perfect location for us to explore the country side, relax and celebrate my husband's birthday. It's also next to a cute castle ruins and park and has lovely pub gardens to have a drink or your own picnic. Being an artist I really enjoyed a great selection of art on the walls and small interior details that made the stay feel luxurious and authentic.

We would recommend to ask for a room on the second view as the rooms are lighter and have a better view.

Lovely old Inn. Good size room and a good bathroom. Convenient location. Lovingly restored, and nicely decorated, but as in all old buildings, the problem is air conditioning. Good breakfast. Friendly stuff.

We arrived later in the evening and were told that we had almost missed the dinner as the kitchen closed at 9.30 pm. A bit too early. Eventually, we got the dinner. It was good! No air-conditioning! Why don't you change the duvets as per season? Actually, it is worldwide problem do keep extra thick duvets all your round...

Steve the manager was extremely helpful as we has to change our dates with them - twice! Very pleased when we arrived at how great the hotel was. We didn't know there had been an extensive upgrade and refit throughout the property. The castle Kirby Muxloe is right at the end of the gardens. It is about a 20 min drive into Leicester or you can do park and ride. Lots to do and see and not too big to walk around. We ate at the hotel in the evening and for a Tuesday evening it was very busy. Says it all. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Great ensuite with large walk in shower. Would definitely stay there again.

Nothing to not like - and I am very picky! 😁

The bar restaurant area when we walked in was lovely and welcoming. Paul greeted us warmly and booked us in for dinner. The bedroom was number 20 and newly done and the bed was so comfortable. A handwritten welcome note was a lovely touch as was the tea/coffee tray. The breakfast was tasty, the bacon was especially lovely. Caroline was a gem and had the right balance of chat while still getting breakfast dishes out.

The windows in the bedroom need replaced as it was a little draughty but not enough to put us off staying again. Only one rib eye left at 7.30 on a Thursday was a bit disappointing but the second choice was delicious.

The hotel is beautiful inside and the staff were really friendly. The lady who checked me in was really friendly and helpful and the staff at the bar were also lovely. The room was tidy and had everything we need with a spacious bathroom which was nice and clean.

The parking was quite difficult as the car park is quite small but it was a non issue to our stay. The room was a little small but it was good value for money as I did book the standard room for work. The pipe work was loud through the night, that’s probably the only feedback I have.

Excellent meals, staff very friendly, helpful and efficient, comfy bed, great location, lots of outdoor under-cover seating. I've stayed several times before and never been disappointed but the recent refurb has transformed the hotel from "good" to "great"!

The automatic telephone system is annoying but can be overcome by saying "speak to human" as many times as is necessary (normally twice) although it worked OK for table reservations. I know that space can be tight but one chair in a room for two people is not enough!

I was so enjoyed our stay and very single member of the staff were so,so helpful and friendly. I asked for a room with comfy chairs due to back problems, which I was given. It was a large comfortable room with a big bathroom, at there's prices don't expect lots of free toiletry but liquid soap is provided. There was an iron and even a fan in the wardrobe which I've not always had in more expensive hotels. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, I don't mind a few chips on paint work add a bit of character as long as it's clean and I would give them 10 out of 10. I will defiantly stay here again

Only one teabag each in room and not enough milk for my liking, I asked a member of staff who quickly sorted that out for me. Only a fixed shower head which is not hygienic for us ladies

Staff was very pleasant and obliging. The bar was a delight. The bed was very comfortable. The cost of the stay was very reasonable.

The hotel is in need of refurbishment which is due to take place over the next two months. The evening meal wasn't great. For starters we had creamed mushrooms which were like warm and poor value. For main I had the fish and chips. The fish was good but the chips were frozen rather than fresh. My wife had mushroom and ale pie which she thought was poor. Breakfast were good value but the water for the tea and coffee was not hot enough. There seemed to be a repeated problem of food not being served hot enough, perhaps waiting too long at the pass.
