Breakfast was modest but adequate - it included fresh fruit and fruit yoghurt as well as cereals and toast. Some plain yoghurt would have been good. We had very comfortable and generous space, enjoyed the period furniture and a very comfortable bed. The towels were nice and thick. A spacious bathroom.

The propert has great bones - it will be a lovely place to stay with some painting, etc.

We did enjoy our stay and wanted to be close to castle, cathedral, We also booked a second night as we enjoyed Lincoln so much. Great location. We did not want to stay in city centre and Charlotte House suited our needs. It is preparing for a re-furbe. Would recommend anyone to stay .

We booked a second night in de-lux room - sitting area, 4 poster bed. Large shower/bathroom. Unfortunately there was no shower mat (my husband wouldn’t think to ask one) he slipped in walk-in area of shower and hurt his knee. He mentioned this to reception stating there wasn’t a noneslip bath mat. There was no concern shown and did not enter in an accident book or make any note ensuring a bath mat was put in the bathroom. It took my husband a few hours to recover from an already very sore knee which he had a knee replacement 22nd February 3days later.

Huge room/suite was exceptional value for money. Reception staff were extremely pleasant. Location excellent. Good enough for me to consider staying again with my Wife next time for a leisure break.

Only two real issues were that the room had not been fully cleared of previous guests items - ear buds and full cans of drinks. The other issue was I was expecting a full breakfast to be included but was informed at check in that it was continental. That may well have been my fault for not reading the booking description properly. I also thought the decoration and carpets could do with a freshen up.

-staff great - gave us a first floor (2 rooms) as requested - despite my complaints I would always book here for location alone overlooking castle and cathedral area

-no free parking for blue badge holders plus Charlotte house designated parking is sometimes dearer than public parking on site - stayed a few times before but free included continental breakfast is gradually getting poorer in quality and freshness (stale bread etc) coffee /tea lukewarm - reduce room prices and stop the breakfast service -would be my advice no bar but enough pubs within half a mile in the old town - front door needs renovating for kerb appeal

The room was massive (hallway, lounge, cloakroom, bathroom and bedroom). Very comfortable. The staff were very friendly, helpful and chatty. The location was ideal for sightseeing, cafes and restaurants. There was a continental breakfast; we prefer a cooked breakfast when we are away; it is a treat and saves us having lunch. There is a cafe onsite that serves breakfast at an additional cost; there is also a tapas bar. We felt very safe walking round the area near the hotel at night.

We were a bit surprised at having to pay for parking; however, it was a small price to pay as parking in central Lincoln is very limited; the parking is for 24 hours.

Its in a great quiet location, just at the back of Lincolns castle. Rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable bathroom was excellent The staff were friendly and helpful and knowledge about the area. There is a small Stokes coffee restaurant just across from the hotel if u needed an evening meal or a coffee . And plenty of parking

There is a continental breakfast offered in the price of the room but there wasn't much choice you can op to have a cooked breakfast across at the Stokes restaurant, which will cost u extra . I think I would do that if I stayed again There isn't a bar in the hotel at the moment so there is nowhere to sit and chill but this is beause the hotel is going through an upgrade . when that is done, it will really bring the hotel to the next level .

We booked in to The Charlotte hotel for one night as we were going to the Indian restaurant just opposite. There is a large car park at the hotel so no problem there but you do have to pay a charge which is £9.50 for 24 hours. The hotel is 400 yards from the 'Bail' area of Lincoln which is the ancient quarter at the top of the hill where the cathedral, castle, Jew's house and square are situated. The hotel has just come under new ownership, a local family who have plans to improve the slightly jaded air which other reviewers have mentioned. I must say that the room (suite really with separate TV lounge) we were given was lovely, a view of the castle wall, nice modernised bathroom, good furniture, a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. The dining room was lovely, bright and spacious, an atrium really with a two storey glass wall on one side and a beautiful lounge or meeting area. Breakfast was continental with really fresh mini croissants and the best ever coffee, Stoke's blue mountain blend. The staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful. We had a lovely stay and the Charlotte will be our 'place to stay' on our future visits to Lincoln.

After I booked this hotel, I was a bit worried after reading the reviews.. My stay at the Charlotte House in the Yarborough room (room 11) Yes the main hotel could do with a bit of maintenance but what hotel doesn’t. Bed was comfy Room was spacious Bathroom was massive Nice walk in shower, with instant hot water One pillow was rock hard like a memory foam pillow, the other was soft, might be worth the hotel having a couple extra soft pillows in the wardrobe The continental breakfast was lovely, nice little pastries, plenty of options.. was a nice change from a cooked breakfast, especially if you’ve have eaten loads the night before.. Location.. couldn’t fault it 2 minute walk to the castle and a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and a 10 minute walk to the centre of the city through a lovely street called Steep Hill. Parking. I found cheap for £9 for 24hrs compared to other locations I’ve stayed at £27 for 24hrs For a Saturday night at £95 with a continental breakfast was a good deal After speaking to reception, the hotel has been purchased and will be having restoration

The room was actually a suite and that was an enormous bonus, especially as we only paid £115. The bathroom was modern with a nice warm shower. The location is excellent for visiting sites at the top of the hill. Would definitely go again. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

It’s looking a little tired but apparently a renovation is imminent. There was an event in the hotel and as it’s not a large hotel, the sound travelled. There’s also a pub across the road which was noisy at kicking out time. However, all sound ended before midnight so we still had a good sleep.

Charlotte Hotel is a beautiful old building, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Location in general is fantastic, but for us it was absolutely perfect! We went for lunch, attended the outdoor cinema at the castle (just across the road) and then went out around the bars....throughout the day/night we were back and forth to the hotel, dropping off our gear, getting changed etc. We were half an hour early to check in - Not a problem. On checking out at 11, we weren't due to leave Lincoln until 2pm, the hotel were super accommodating and allowed us to leave our camping chairs, picnic bags etc behind reception so we could shop and dine at leisure! Would definitely book again and absolutely recommend!
