The hotel is in a beautiful courtyard, where two of the gates close at night, so you feel quite secure and it means it's quiet. Breakfast was great, and even though the hotel was fully booked one night, they have signs up to ensure guests booked a slot and were accommodated. Staff were really friendly and helpful. When we checked in we were offered free drink vouchers if we were happy to not have our room serviced, because we were staying 2 nights. I really like that option to do a bit towards sustainability. Close to 2 tube stations/bus stops and minutes walk to several local pubs and a couple of restaurants.

The room as a little on the small side, and the bed was smaller than usual in the standard room, but very comfortable.

Fantastic location, just a 10 min walk from the Barbican Centre. 20 min walk to st pauls cathedral. High end finishes, Luxiourious feel, Modern and clean. Gorgeous reception which is a great first impression, decor, everywhere felt newly refurbished. Staff pleasant, breakfast of good quality. Stunning building in charterhouse square which is steeped in history. The room included everything you need. Biscuits and a good selection of teas and coffe provided, even 2 small bottles of water. Fridge, hairdryer, iron and safe. We were in room 412 a standard double room. Possibly positioned to the side or the back of the hotel. A bit of a view from the window. Crisp linen and super white fluffy towels, the hot water is very hot so be careful. Heated mirror in the bathroom which was a bonus.

Nothing except wish we could have afforded a bigger room with a bigger bed. There was not good enough lighting in either the bathroom or the bedroom to do makeup. Lighting could be improved. Quite hard pillows on the bed, but we didnt realise there were softer, thinner ones in the wardrobe.

Stylish, beautifully decorated hotel. My room was quiet and larger than the average London room. Staff are helpful and polite. Breakfast is perfect with both continental and hot food options. It has everything you expect of a 4* hotel.

Only minor things. The bed could be longer, and the curved headboard is not too comfortable. In the bathroom, there's an overhead rainfall shower and a shower hose, but only the former seems to work, which is not ideal if you don't want to wash your hair. Though it could have been just my bathroom or me not being able to operate it.

Victor (didn't catch his surname is absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable, made us feel welcomed and at ease. He explained the no-housekeeping scheme currently in place; bar vouchers/donate to charity in place of not having housekeeping. Such a joy to be checked in by him on first day. The front desk staff in general all stood out; always willing to help. We had one incident where housekeeping was late delivering water and milk, probably got scolded then took out that frustration on us by being rude and loud when it was finally delivered to room during a work conference call, but that was one person. Would definitely stay here again.

Wish that water and coffee was automatically replenished in the room without having to ask daily.

The reception team were very helpful with parking etc. Lovely leafy location with a small garden square just outside, nice and quiet but still within reach of the touristy bits. If you don't fancy a walk the hotel will arrange a cab no problem at all. Just around the corner to Smiths of Smithfield which is a great restaurant and a nice small pub next door.

Malmaison have quite a dark interior design so don't expect a bright and airy scheme. Quite a compact bathroom even in the more expensive rooms but then you're in London so you don't spend too much time in there!

Great location - close to Farringdon trains with access everywhere in London - including direct train to Heathrow (30 mins) many excellent restaurants within walking distance. Room was charming and eclectic . Very Clean. Staff helpful mostly. Great views over London rooftops from room.

Toiletries were too basic. Hot Beverages not replaced daily. Sadly, sarcasm from staff member not appreciated when we collected our stored bags before departing .

We decided to stay at the Malmaison after it was announced there would be train strikes when we were due to travel back from a works Christmas party. Beautiful hotel and great facilities - loved the pressure of the waterfall shower, the bed was very comfortable, nice little thoughtful extras dotted around the room such as the mini box of lindt chocolates and bottle of water, and it was lovely to have Chez Mal just downstairs serving beautifully tasting food. We stored our luggage until check in which was no problem for the front desk staff and Farringdon tube station was just a few minutes walk away and served a number of lines - the Elizabeth line took us directly to Oxford Street in a 2 minute tube ride! Would stay here again.

We asked for a high floor room but we understand there were works going on so this may be why we didn't get that and stayed on the first floor. We could hear all the noise coming from outside even though the windows weren't open - I'm a light sleeper so this was a little difficult. We couldn't work the air conditioning unit - we were pressing buttons and following the instructions but nothing seemed to be happening. However, the positives far outweigh the negatives and it was a pleasant stay.

I have to say that Victor at the front desk and Duke with guest services were unbelievable. They went out of their way to ensure we had what we needed. I felt like we were friends by the time we left! Duke noticed we were standing in line at the front as existing guests and asked us if he could help us with anything. He ran and got us the towels and other items we needed a refresher in and without being asked, a bottle of still water as well. Victor was full of great suggestions on food and was humorous as well as really attentive in his local advice. These two made the stay!

Honestly the only think that could change is if I lifted the building up and put it in SOHO lol. However, the location felt safe and secure at night and all in all it was still great!

Nice hotel on surprisingly quiet and old square. Nice towels. Decent bed. It wasn't cheap, but not that much more than the budget hotels. Nice cooked breakfast. Friendly, unfussy staff. Didn't have any issues checking in. Bit less generic than many hotels. Good location for me.

It's decent. I just maybe expected a bit more given i'd heard of Malmaison in Oxford. All issues quite minor, but I noticed them. Slightly cringe wework-y messages around the place ("dare to be different" on your bathroom mirror). The bedside light switches are awkwardly located. They seemed understaffed for the number of people coming to breakfast on day and so long wait. The shower water was not really hot at one point (not an issue as summer). Other comment saying aircon doesn't really work makes sense.

Perfect location, especially for events at the Barbican. Very close to the Barbican itself, and Barbican station. We stayed 2 nights in a really nice ‘Club’ room at the front on 3rd floor. We overlooked the green Charterhouse Square. The hotel was stylish and had everything we needed. The cooked and buffet breakfast was perfect. Lots of choice.
