It's hard to rate this hotel. The staff is great, the location and view just incredible and the breakfast was good too. I have even been offered a room upgrade on arrival. The room's bed was comfy, the bathroom clean. There is a swimming pool and spa on site. A great coastal hiking trail starts just outside the hotel. Parking is available for free in front of the hotel. Overall good value for money.

That being said, the hotel is in need of some renovations. The "old hotel" smell mentioned by other reviewers is very much noticeable and made me air out my room upon entering every time. Also, breakfast was good, but the carpet in the breakfast room was noticeably dirty and the breakfast room overall was just dated. I believe certain rooms have already been refurbished, so this hotel will just get better and better the following years.

Beautiful views and parking opposite hotel. On the quieter side of Looe so relaxing. Downhill walk into East Looe with lovely views on the way. Lovely sea view room with binoculars provided, nice touch.

Seemed a little short of staff at busy times but all were very helpful and friendly. Fairly old building so lots of steps in different places so might make getting around hard for disabled although there is a lift to get into hotel and onto different floors showing they have done what they can with such an old building.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The views were stunning from the room and the common areas. The location was great, easy to get to the beautiful beach. The restaurant had a good variety of vegetarian options and the food was good. The room was spacious, had everything needed. The spa facilities were good.

We booked a king bed room but was disappointed to find twin beds zipped together. Unfortunately the gap between them was a bit large. The mattresses were tired so felt a little like rolling to the edges. We were able to park the car outside the hotel, but that was lucky as the spaces allocated to the hotel on the clifftop were full.

The location is probably one of the best, the staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was superb quality. We enjoyed both a light evening meal in the Bar and Breakfast - which was excellent.

Being picky, I would have liked a larger room with perhaps the bedroom being separate. Because the leisure facilities are open to the public ( I fully understand why), the facilities were crowded with I think one local family taken up residence in the hot tub. This meant that the Car parking was also a bit of a lottery as people parked to use the leisure facilities. As I said being picky - these point would not stop me from visiting again

very clean and welcoming staff. They had upgraded my friend and I's single rooms to double's. Spa is amazing with Hydro pool and heated tiled beds, pool temperature was perfect. Breakfast was outstanding. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be going back in the future. Loved the land-train and it's tour. Drop off at the beach is fantastic as I'm disabled and can not walk far. Well done to all the staff.

A view over the sea would have totally sealed the deal for us but you can't have everything realistically.

We booked a room with a sea view and that certainly didn't disappoint. It was brilliant to be able to go out onto the balcony and see the sun glistening on the sea and hear the waves below. We also enjoyed the indoor pool which also had a sea & sky view. The changing rooms were rather small but great to have this facility.

The zip link beds are not an ideal way to achieve a double. It would have helped to have had a proper mattress topper. We asked after the 1st night but nothing happened. It wasn't good to be able to feel the zip below the sheets.

Breakfast excellent - wide range of high quality food on the menu. The New Year’s special meal on New Year’s Eve was exceptional and the service perfect, with just the right amount of time being left between the many courses to allow time for digestion. Our room had an exceptional sea view, through a large bay window, which also afforded an excellent view of Looe’s New Year firework displays. The staff were extremely professional, helpful and friendly.

Nothing - the TV signal was dodgy meaning that the picture kept going but the wind was strong, which almost certainly caused the problem.

Absolutely amazing stay! Had everything we expected and more!! Staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We even managed to see a pod of whales thanks the the wonderful lady on reception who also supplied binoculars! As I said, nothing was too much trouble! The sea view room is stunning and each day we were able to see seals on the coastline, from our balcony! The hotel was clean and tidy with fresh towels offered daily and the spa had everything you’d need and the steam room was amazing! We will definitely return!

The internal lift was very old and sounded rickety, luckily we were on the 2nd floor and able to use the stairs.

The sea view was fantastic . We had a complimentary upgrade to have a outside balcony terrace. Lovely large room, the food in the restaurant was superb & to a very high quality. Very pleasant staff.

We were not told that would be scaffolding up on hotel & roofing work going on. But it was out of season & did not impact on our stay. Drinks were quite expensive. Not very many good alcohol free drink options. Was quite cold in bar area in evening. But overall we had a lovely stay,, the location is stunning and the staff were very helpful and polite.

We had booked a seaview room with a balcony. The room was fabulous it also had a sofa, so very spacious. The view through the patio doors onto the was beautiful. Certainly a real panoramic seaview! Having a balcony to watch the world go by a real bonus too. Great breakfast and all the staff were very helpful, we especially enjoyed being served by Debbie who was always very attentive to the guests needs, etc. Would definitely stay again.

My only thoughts would be with the restaurant which only offered a minimum two course option and we don't always need 2 courses, so chose to eat in the bar.
