We had absolutely amazing four nights in Manchester and Holiday Inn Express was splendid. We have absolutely nothing to say a bad word about. Everything was great and up to our expectations.

Hotel is located by the water and busy rowing club so the view is beautiful. We could see Manchester United stadium from the room too. Infrastructure in Manchester is great so tram can be used to get both to the airport and to city center. Hotel is in walking distance to many attractions. Beds were comfy. Tea and coffee facilities in each room. English breakfast but everyone could find something nice to eat or grab breakfast to go. Rooms are small but perfectly enough for busy city break. All staff at reception was nice and helpful. WiFi works perfect. Air-conditioning in each room and bathrooms are clean and modern. Playground and park can be found in 5 minutes walk from the hotel as well as many shops and restaurants.

The customer service from Mohammed Salim was exceptional. I arrived very late to the property with 3 small children who desperately wanted to sleep. He ensured the booking was done in a timely manner, and provided additional assistance I required in the rooms with fans and extra bedding. He was on hand and very professional, including bringing a positive energy even at around 11pm, which was great to see. The property also had a good location which then made onward travel very positive. The breakfast setup was good too, so would recommend the hotel overall. Good value for money.

Although I did not raise this, outside the window there was quite a number of cobwebs and large spiders. I hadnt realised initially, but this became apparent later when I saw spiders entering the property. Maybe a clean of the external building is needed, as spiders can be common this time of the year, and can build up if left uncleaned. Apart from this, I cannot fault anything else.

The location of the hotel was great for the purpose of our visit. The bed was comfy and room adequate enough for our needs. We had mentioned when booking that it was a trip to celebrate our daughters 7th birthday. On our arrival there was a banner on the door, balloons and treats on the bed alongside a lovely little note wishing her a wonderful birthday! Wow.. she was absolutely made up and we are so very thankful!

On our next visit I know to ask for a room facing the Salford quay, and maybe not on the top floor only because the noise from what sounds like air conditioning units on the roof was rather loud and distracting.

The location was beautiful, the hotel was located by a lake that gave it a beautiful look, overall cleanliness and hygiene was good and breakfast options were also good, staff were friendly and responded to queries, allowed us to keep our luggage as we had arrived very early and rooms were not available for early check-in.

Room size was small and I felt like value for money was missing, the sofa bed was not comfortable at all, I shared it with my 6 year old son and we both struggled to keep our backs straight through the night.

The location was perfect. Staff helpful, polite, friendly. View from our room 513 was good.. Dining area, toilets, lobby area clean. Our room bin was emptied & a clean towel left on the bed.

The bed was uncomfortable. The sofa bed for the kids was so uncomfortable. The sink didn't drain water straight away took hours to empty. The shower tray filled with water - drainage seems to be issue in room 513. 2 adults & 2 children - only 2 towels & 2 hand towels left in thr room. Not enough for a family of 4 for 2 nights who shower! The cooked breakfast choice was a but naff.

The bed was really comfortable. The room was immaculate and well kept. Breakfast was also great.

The price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was several gigs on in the city during the night we stayed. However, this should not be used as an excuse to put the room prices up sky high. We would of stayed somewhere else but needed close proximity to rhe venue for health reasons. It cost almost £400 for a 1 night stay. Yes, that's rite, a 1 night stay!! This is criminal and should not happen. It not only kills the music scene but it also kills tourism into the city as people choose to leave after the gig instead of staying in the city. Please sort this out. You're putting good people of staying in the city.

breakfast was a let down had to ask tell the lady was no food said sorry that’s why I shut it down erm with like 9 people behind us waiting obviously not shut down as service should and was until 10am and carried on after it was topped up. was cold also bemused like a few others no egg or beans. lady said no facilities to cook them am sure beans or egg would of been nice. lady did get topped up and ended up with another chap wondering why there’s no beans or egg. said was four offerings vegan sausage cold yuk bacon topped up tomatoes and hash browns eventually topped up wasn’t the best breakfast sitting needs work on the hot food side. would I stay again Yes just the hot food was a let down 😔

Really good hotel. Booked it as we were going to Trafford center and Arndale center. Both 20 minute drive away from here. Breakfast was great little buffet. Staff were really accommodating.

Our first room was opposite a family with really loud screaming, requested a change and got this straight away. Perfect. You can hear people flushing throughout the night, plus breakfast was a little overcrowded, you could pick off the next tables plate. And 7 pound for parking even if you're a guest. Other than that it was great.

Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was better than expected and a full English was available. I am sure I received a text/email beforehand explaining the breakfast options which did not include a full English! Did I miss this?

Having to pay £7 for 24 hours parking came as a nasty shock. I expected to be given some form of concession for staying at the hotel but none was offered. Irrespective of who owns the car park, I do not expect to be hit with an unexpected and irritating charge.

Never stayed here before and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely location to visit the theatre. Unfortunately the shopping area had many shops that had shut down/ closed. The room was clean and comfortable, although the only downside was that our room was above the entrance to the hotel so was noisy at times. Thel breakfast was good and lots of choice available. Staff were very kind and helpful too, always a plus. Would definitely stay here again 😊
