Great location on waterfront at harbor. Plenty of on-site parking. Some parking allocated to hotel, other spaces in lot were free overnight, so no problem there. Very convenient to local pubs and restaurants. Nicely sized rooms. All around good location and good stay. Really fun little pub fight across the street - check it out. PLUS, Oban Distillery is right there!

Lovely sea views from a spacious room, with a turret, for viewing sunsets. All immaculate, and a very comfortable bed. All a bit dated, like staying with an elderly auntie, but didn't hurt the eyeballs. Decent breakfast, if croissants a touch dry. Only tinned prunes and grapefruit in terms of fruit, which maybe hints at the general demographic of guests. Lovely staff all round. Very peaceful, apart from the regular eveningtide tinkling of fairy bells ( trollyloads of little glasses?) being carefully shunted along the corridor. Into a guest room?who knows....

Shower was a bit worrrying,: sounds and vibrations as of the thunder of galloping hooves heralded a shy medium flow.... Maybe I hadn't fiddled with it enough. it worked well enough and was warm enough. A sign said the towel rail at the end of bath was VERY HOT. Indeed it was, as a cautious test showed. Perhaps not a good idea to have there, perfectly positioned for a slipping guest to grab it or fall against it.

I had a lovely big room looking over the sea which I did not pay a room upgrade for, so that was generous. It was warm and comfortable. The breakfast suited me well, especially having prunes and grapefruit at breakfast. Reception and waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. I had nice food in the Rio bar on one night, but it is just Italian and I like variety for a few nights stay. Location is great.

Location is great but it means there is very little free parking. However I was lucky enough to get one of the spots on the first evening and didn't move my car, so it was not a problem on this occasion.

Good breakfast, size of the room and superb location.

No heating, the radiator wouldn't turn on and our towels looked a bit dirty as well as the windows.

We are return visitors, and our review is based on our expectations and the price we paid for our stay....The Hotel is in a great location and has fab views over the bay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The original room we booked was smaller than we hoped for, and 2 helpful staff members helped us upgrade to a much larger room with stunning views, which we appreciated. We very much enjoyed our stay and will return 😊

The hotel is an old building that requires ongoing upgrades to maintain standards. Our room was fab, located on 3rd floor, with great views over the bay and main street.

Fantastic town centre location. Seaviews but even my view back over town & uphill was scenic. Good cooked breakfast in a nice breakfast room with view to Sea. Wait staff pleasant, helpful & efficient. Single room well furnished & comfortable. Shower reliable & hot. Old Victorian Hotel with same era lift (elevator) much appreciated for arrival/departure with luggage but between that I somehow preferred to walk the 56 stairs to my 2nd storey room. 😆 Next door to very helpful Oban Tourist Info Office open 7 days.

My room facing Oban Inn received music/crowd/street noise but foreseeable & not personally an issue for me. The OI is actually a great traditional Pub with atmosphere, attentive staff & music. 🙂

I loved the cleanliness of the hotel, the location and most of the staff were very helpful.

Not enough parking. Also, we booked and paid for two sea view rooms, one was a lovely decent size, with a lovely big window and good sea view. The other was small, with a small window, and not a very good sea view, as it was partly blocked by the wall. I can't see how they could be priced the same. The bar door was open, and the sign said it was open 11 to 11, but when we asked we were told it wasn't open. Also, when booking in, we asked about booking in for dinner, but we were told by the member of staff on reception, that the hotel restaurant only catered for parties of 30 or more, so we couldn't book in for dinner. That was very disappointing.

Lovely bedroom 202. Separate sitting room overlooking the harbour. Comfy bed. The Bar Rio downstairs was lovely. Had lunch here. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent . Have stayed here several times, although not since before covid. Didn't disappoint.

Very compact bathroom. No toilet roll holder, just rolls placed on the shelf behind the cistern. Soap dispenser placed above bath taps so ran onto bath top when dispensing. Not a problem, just had to dispense into hand then hold under running tap.

I was in room 101 and it was a huge room with a separate "lounge" area. You could view Oban from a lovely chair and table or just relax in the sofa. The "greeter" was perfect. Friendly and informative. The lift (elevator) is pretty special. :) A wee issue with the breakfast was professionally sorted out. Sunday breakfast starts at 07.30 which is certainly not the norm in Scotland.

Parking can be an issue. Being in a vibrant ferry town might be a bit noisy for some. I loved it.

Nothing, except you had a lottery on reception staffing. one unhelpful and sullen and one extremely helpful and going out of their way to help. Hopefully you get the right one !!
