The Manor House was absolutely wonderful! It was the epitome of a luxury B & B. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a stunning view of the sea. There was a full bar downstairs and they also have a restaurant. Our breakfast was delicious! Stephen, our host, was personable and accommodating—he anticipated our every need! He made reservations for us to dine in town, and served us from the bar each night. We left early the third day, and he packed us a breakfast to go! Hand-made sandwiches, yogurts, fruit, breakfast bars, water and juice. Absolutely incredible!! If I could give a rating of 12 out of 10, I would do that!

I loved everything!

Great location, beautiful property, amazing views, comfortable beds, quiet space, delicious breakfast! The absolute highlight, however, was the staff and David in particular. David proved how wonderful he was before we even arrived by calling to make sure we were okay when we were running a few hours late from when we said we’d be there. He then went above and beyond for our entire stay, providing recommendations, suggesting new Scottish beers/whisky based off what we had already ordered and liked (and was doing the same for other guests’ gin preferences), and generally being a delightful person to talk to. We learned so much about Oban and Scotland just by chatting with him! We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous historic hotel with elegant rooms, great baths, very comfortable beds, and a lovely garden. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was superb: abundant and delicious. We enjoyed sampling whiskeys at the bar and followed the bar tender's excellent advice--he was knowledgeable and fun. We stayed in two rooms--one with a view over the bay and one with a view of the woods--and enjoyed both. The beds were noteworthy for their comfort and great pillows. The town center is a very easy ten minute walk; a nice stroll before and after dinner around the harbor.

The staff is what makes the facility so incredible! David and the team are attentive and work tirelessly to help you achieve your destination experience. I had done research about visiting Isle of Mull or taking a less-traveled hike of Gylen Castle. We had a hunch that the Gylen Castle trip would be more suited for us (i.e Ferry, five-mile-hike versus car ferry, drive on busy island and see lots of cool stuff on Mull) Bottom line is that you can't go wrong either way, but David encouraged us to visit Gylen, and then made arrangements to get us the little ferry across. He was beyond helpful and we are so glad we choose Gylen Castle. The food at the Manor is awesome; and we were pleasantly surprised when we had to leave early to find a Reception Area worker chasing us down with a 'to go' breakfast ! The rooms are cozy, in the style of the historic manor; the views of the harbor are stunning. (P.S. if you do venture to Gylen Castle --- DO NOT use the gravel path to the right to get up to the Castle -- find the grass side on left -- as you're coming from the little tea cottage - as a form of reference).

Everything was great !

Everything. We were marooned an extra day in Oban by a huge storm that closed all roads in and out and train service. A local cabbie remarked that we were staying in the best place to be marooned. He was right. A small hotel with beautiful public rooms, comfortable bedrooms, very nice restaurant, convenient location overlooking the harbor with a short walk to the heart of town. Above all were the wonderful staff: Daniel, David, and Steven and the rest of the crew cannot be equaled in attentiveness, diligence, and friendliness. They made room for us when we couldn’t leave town, monitored road and rail conditions, and helped in so many ways. This is the place to stay in Oban.

The Manor House Hotel is a charming property, with thoughtful, modern details in the rooms (direct USB connections for devices, for e.g.) and beautiful views, but what makes it truly exceptional is the team that runs it. Daniel and Beatrice were gracious and friendly hosts, but it was David who truly stood out, offering superlative, personalised service. We were a large group, including 4 teenagers, and both David and Steven were amazing in dealing with them. The adults in the group could truly relax and not worry about the kids as we could see that they were safe and well taken care of. The property also has an excellent fine dining restaurant on the premises, we had a fantastic dinner there and also great breakfasts. I must also commend the back-end staff, obviously the kitchen was brilliant, and housekeeping was spotless during our stay.

Daniel had an exceptional knowledge of local gins and whisky, and took the time to go through them with us and make recommendations. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the rest of the staff were similarly lovely. Views from the room, lounge, and outside were all terrific…town, gorse-covered mountains, local islands, sailboats, and a helicopter landing close enough to see the whites of the pilot’s eyes

Staff were brilliant, particularly David who introduced us to single Malt Whisky with a tutorial every evening. Bedroom very comfortable, grounds and garden beautiful. Good location with easy walk to the town centre. Food was very good. Wr would also like to mention our waitress Claudia who looked after us very well indeed.

The Dining room was a little soulless and had the atmosphere of a library. It could perhaps benefit with some background music to make conversations easier and more relaxed.

Manor House is a gem of a hotel, with fabulous highly professional and warm staff. We were welcomed by name when we arrived, served an excellent dinner and provided a wonderful itinerary of activities for the next day. Meals were served in a cozy restaurant next to a bar with stunning views. Highly recommend this special place.

The Manor House Hotel was a highlight of our trip. The best part were the staff. They were so friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about whiskey and gin. The hotel is clean, well decorated, the breakfast is one of the best we've ever had. Walking distance to town, but far enough away to be peaceful and have a gorgeous view of the sea. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone, we wish we stayed longer.
