I was staying because I was working in this area, the room was spacious, and had a desk, which is always welcome because I have work to do on my laptop every evening after work, The room was serviced every day so I have no complaints. I would also like to mention that the night porter Dale, was very professional and polite, and because I was out to work before breakfast started, he would make me a coffee before I left which was very welcome, thank you Dale.
If I were to be picky, I always appreciate a couple of bottles of water in the room but I ended up buying some from a local shop. Although it was not the hotels fault, I was kept awake literally all night by some rowdy guests, talking loudly and singing Oasis songs at 04:00, I had to be back up at 05:00 for work so I didn't appreciate only having about 3 hours sleep, the night porter did apologise but it wasn't their fault.

Super staff who were friendly and always ready to help. Excellent Continental breakfast with plenty of choice. The room was comfortable and very clean. For dinner I had the fish and chips. The meal was good and well presented with the fish being very fresh. My partner had the chicken burger which was very well presented.
The only downside with breakfast was that the coffee was instant which was a shame. For dinner, the fish and chips was very good but could have been even better if the chips had been hand made. The chips appeared to be frozen and out of a packet. The meal on the menu was advertised as being with mushy peas but turned up with whole peas. Because my partner doesn't like spicy food she asked for her meal without the Cajun salad dressing but it was still very spicy and she struggled to finish it. The windows of the room have seen better days and are ready for an upgrade to UPVC.

I have stayed here a number of times. It is a comfortable hotel but beginning to look a bit worn and tired.
The one complaint that I have made each time that I have stayed here - problems with blue badge parking. The stencilled road signs for four bays made available for blue badge parking have virtually worn away. I have mentioned this on each of the sic times that I have stayed here. This time, although I could not park in a disabled spot I got the impression that at last, the management are going to do something about this. One can only live in hope.

Arrived with my daughter in the evening (Sunday) having booked via booking.com. We had had a disastrous experience at another local hotel the previous night, so to arrive at the Heritage to be met by extremely pleasant and welcoming staff was just brilliant. The sense of relief and de-escalation of stress was purely down to the lady and young man working on Sunday evening 26/2/23 (sorry didn't get names). Nothing was too much trouble for them. In fact, ALL of the staff we encountered over the next three nights and days were just absolutely wonderful. Pleasant, efficient, welcoming and affable. From the lady who cleaned the room, to the ladies serving breakfast, to the reception staff (special mention to Robbo) - all made our stay so enjoyable. A massive 'thank you' to ALL of them. The beds were comfortable, the room (twin room - great size) and bathroom were really clean, the breakfasts were lovely. My daughter and I had already booked restaurants for the evenings, so didn't get to eat dinner in the hotel. I met my wheelchair-bound friend in the bar for a drink on Tuesday and again everything was just great. Disabled access was just so easy, parking was great, My friend and his wife stayed for dinner and said it was great. Put simply, everything about our stay was first class - and all the credit for that goes to all the staff. It's a long time since I've felt that comfortable in a hotel, so much so that we wished we could have stayed longer. This review may come up as written by "Robert Bobbo" (Google sign-in name). My name is actually Robert Rees and we stayed in Room 206. Again, many, many thanks to all the staff. The manager should be proud to have people like that working for them. A credit to themselves and to the hotel. Cheers - till the next time

The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. We had a few requests as we’re getting married at castle coch locally and they couldn’t have been more helpful! Especially the restaurant team who I couldn’t fault, such a lovely meal and 11/10 service!
There was restoration work going on at the time, can’t really fault this though as it’s just them making improvements to some of the dated decor. Only other thing really was that they didn’t have any coffee pods available for the coffee machine in our room

Very comfortable hotel in a quiet location, despite being close to the main road. The food was tasty & good value for money. The staff were all very friendly, helpful & efficient. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced. A well equipped gym on site. Nice gardens with inviting seating area. Excellent breakfast menu.
There was a limited choice of vegetarian options on the restaurant menu so if you were staying for more than a couple of nights you would have to eat the same thing more than once.

The hotel was easy to find and is attractive. We were warmly welcomed and were informed about the restaurant and bar. Our twin room was very attractive and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities. There were fluffy towels and complimentary bath products, plenty of hot water and an excellent, over bath, shower. The beds were very comfy and the sheets were spotlessly clean. The restaurant is attractive and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a TV but don't expect more than the terrestrial channels. Nicer than a Premier Inn and costing less 🙂
The menu on the website is no longer available 😕 Having chosen 2 meals from the limited menu we were informed that they were not available 🤨 We decided on the burgers, which were well presented and huge! But we could have had burgers in McDonald's for a fraction of the price 😕 Although the beds were very comfy there was only one pillow and no mattress protector. The curtains have been gathered too much, making them too small, the carpark lights kept the room bright all night 😒 As in most hotels, the bathroom needs a deep clean. And the hook replaced on the door.

Beautiful, quiet room. Lovely bar and restaurant, great food, lovely friendly staff. 4 mins walk to the “Mining experience” next door. It has a Spa, & gym although we didn’t use it, there was lots of coming and going there
Nothing really. There was no hot water one evening. They said there was a new system, so the man came in early the next day to fix it. They changed our room the next morning and no issues.

I was pleased with the vegan options available for breakfast. The room was very clean and the hotel is in a great location for site seeing, walks and not far from the train station and town centre. Would stay here again for sure.
The only down side was that the dinner menu was not clear as to which items where vegetarian, vegan etc. so I had to go and buy dinner elsewhere. Not sure why the breakfast menu is clearly labelled but not the dinner menu.
