It is a stunning hotel. We loved the decor and attention to detail. The staff are friendly and helpful. Chelsea made us feel very welcome. The room and bathroom was lovely, clean and a good size with great facilities and the bed was comfortable. The spa was beautifully decorated, clean and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommended Lanelay Hotel.

We loved the spa, however the shower gel had not been kept topped up in the shower cubicle. The outside spa facilities were not included when you stay at the hotel and we felt it was expensive to pay the extra cost.

The room was incredible, clean and the bath in the middle of the room was superb. Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much hassle. The evening meal was worth the money, both starter and main were splendid. The spa pool was lovely and very calming.

The room only had a small fan so we had to open the door, our room was located on the terrace as you enter the hotel so wasn't ideal having the door open for all the guests to see us and didn't allow too much enjoyment with the bath as was simply too hot to relax. The hot tub was an optional extra for ££ which I was a little disappointed with. The pudding choices weren't great.

From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with friendly helpful staff from reception, to bar staff, porter etc etc. I felt no uneasiness when requesting details of local attractions, trains, taxi's etc. Sunday dinner in the restaurant was outstanding, as were the cocktails we sampled.

Some small areas lacking attention to detail.... my room was decorated with `Happy Anniversary' when in fact I had on several occasions mentioned the reason for my stay. We had to chase up your glass of bubbly that came with outdoor pool experience, but these where small in comparison to the fantastic stay we all had.

The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms are very clean, breakfast was perfect in every way, beds are extremely comfortable. Hotel is situated in a perfect place for access

There should be more access to the facilities as a guest at the hotel, the outside pool should be included,as I paid £130 for a room and spa, but only got an indoor pool and sauna, I understand if they are using staff and products they will charge a fee,but the outside pool was empty and I couldn't use it, there wasn't enough beds and when the staff was cleaning 2of them I suggested I wait for one of them she said it was already booked out, this wasn't explained to me

The decor of the hotel was gorgeous and the way it was laid out felt well thought about. We really enjoyed all of our food and the mix of food to order and the breakfast/salad bar was really well done. The majority of the staff were really lovely and welcoming. Our room wasn't particularly large but it was very nicely decorated and fitted out. I enjoyed sitting and reading on the window seat in the morning on the outside of the curtains while my husband slept in the still-dark room. We spent some time in the spa on our second day and it was small, but perfectly formed. It wasn't too busy so it never felt crowded and I felt like there was enough space for everyone there.

We only had a few small niggles about our stay, one being the pillows in the room. They were all the same and my husband found them very uncomfortable and struggled to get to sleep, a choice of pillows would have been nice. Secondly we had breakfast in the hotel and then had 'spa brunch' in the afternoon, which was essentially the same menu. It would have been nice to have been able to choose a bit more variety or been given the option of afternoon tea instead. Also the area we were sat for our spa brunch was at the far end of the terrace which leads to a kind of service area which wasn't particularly attractive to look at during food. A couple of screens in this area would fix that problem almost immediately though.

We had a deluxe room & they are stunning with a beautiful bath in the room which was beautiful. The room was massive, clean & super comfortable. I couldn't recommend it enough! We've stayed here twice now & really love the rooms!! The food was brilliant, the evening meal was great but the Sunday Roast was out of this world!! The service in the restaurant from all the staff was amazing, Lauren, Brendan, Ffion, & all the staff were fantastic.

We had a problem with our shower & was too hot to use which was a shame, but the hotel gave us some free Prosecco & access to the spa the following day to make up for this & made up for it! It is a shame you now have to pay extra to use the outdoor hot tub part of the spa, it seems a shame when you pay quite a lot to stay & had booked a massage etc. Seems a little cheap to have to pay more to use that & can only use it for an hour. The first time we stayed, this part was included.

The room was immaculate. The spa facilities were also very nice. The house and surrounding area were fantastic. Staff were very helpful.

I paid extra as a treat for my wife’s 40th birthday upgrading to a suite which was lovely. However paying the extra I would have expected to have been able to use the spa facilities before 5pm, the outside pool was an extra £25 on top of what I had already paid which I think was a bit much. To top things off the we could hear every footstep from the room above and even the TV and the music they were playing to extent we could sing along! We told the reception of the noise to be told that I would be contacted by the manager. So I’ve left it a week to write this review but nothing as yet.

The suite was lovely and had so much room! The bath was amazing - and the toiletries came in very handy and smelt so good. The hotel called me before our stay to double check our booking and upsell their breakfast, (we didn’t partake in this so can’t comment on the food) and to answer any questions we had. They asked the reason for our stay which was a first wedding anniversary, and on our arrival we had red petals decorating the bed, complimentary cakes and a hand written card welcoming us to the hotel which was really cute and a momentous personal touch (a lot of other hotels charge for this as well). I believe our room had been arranged by Chloe, and it looked really lovely so thank you for this. The staff were very polite and friendly on check in/check out and generally the hotel was quiet and welcoming - very relaxing!

No air con in the room, did have to open the windows, resulting in some unwelcome midges and duvet was very hot at night!. There was a handout on check in noting room service was available but no brochure or any details on what that included, or anything regarding the history of the hotel. There was a little video playing at reception regarding the hotel renovation but with check in/out being really swift, I didn’t get to see it all, so this would have been a really nice touch to have more information on.

As soon as you step through the gate you step into a tranquil setting. The vibe is so relaxing and the hotels interior design is homely and boutique. I loved my 2 night stay here. The receptionist Kelsey provided the warmest welcome and made it her priority to ensure our stay was everything we expected. Food and service was excellent in the restaurant for both dinner and at breakfast. Our room was beautiful and felt like home. We will definitely be returning.

Nothing negative to report.

It’s a well presented property spa is good. Staff are really brilliant and make you feel really welcome 1st class.

the bathroom needs a little tlc as far as one wobbly floor tile and shower holder is loss so won’t stay up until you turn on. Food was great well presented great taste. The only comment is £6 for 6 pieces of tender-stem broccoli is a bit too high as a chef myself we serve tenderstem broccoli with chilli and almonds for £5 and a little bigger portion. This would be my only real comment on the food other wise top class well presented and tasty food. really loved the lamb croquette amazing
