The Lamb and Flag Inn0

The family 'room' was more like a complete studio, much larger than we expected which was a bonus. 2 bedrooms one master with a double and a single that pulled into a double and a smaller bedroom with two single beds. It had a working fridge, microwave and kettle that were all clean and made bottle/ food prep for the kids very easy. The bathroom was clean and well presented.

The stairs to get to the family room - room 6 are very industrial black metal and not very wide which made lifting the pram quite difficult - doable but tricky, The bathroom was as said well presented but did have a roof window that we could not close, probably our stupidity more than anything just glad it didnt rain during our stay. Just be aware there is no kitchen as such but there is a good sized fridge microwave and kettle.

WE WENT TO TY MORGAN FOR BREAKFAST (THE PROPERTY RECOMMENDED BY THE LAMB & FLAG) A SHORT WALK AWAY AND HAD AN EXCELLENT BREAKFAST.

WE WERE A LITTLE NERVOUS ABOUT LEAVING THE CAR OVERNIGHT IN THE CAR PARK BUT ALL WAS WELL, AND RHAYADER FELT LIKE A VERY NICE LITTLE TOWN. THE HEAVY TRAFFIC WENT THROUGH THE TOWN BUT IT DID NOT DETER FROM US ENJOYING OUR STAY. WE WOULD BE VERY HAPPY TO GO AGAIN. THE ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN, AND THE STAFF VERY HELPFUL.

Decent property for the price. Location is quite central and was ideal for my stay. The room was quite clean and tea / coffee were well stocked. Ample parking was available on site which was quite handy. The beddings were clean and bed was well made up

I was reluctant to have the tea because the kettle was stained with heavy dust or metallic residue. Tried giving it a bit of clean but that didn't workout. Would've been great to have a nice cup of tea after my walk up the valley. The TV was not connected to the Internet - not sure if this was a technical fault or by design

Quite a lot of noise late into the night Windows / blinds were a bit broken so couldn’t open properly No sign in the bathroom warning about the hot tap only being absolutely boiling! Shower didn’t get hot Taps don’t stay on in bathroom

The breakfast at cafe over the road was wonderful. Wish Id had time to stay longer in Rhayader. The hotel staff were lovely and the town is just still such a lovely place to be in.Ive known and loved it since childhood.Walks along the picturesque river, even the churchyard is a place of natural beauty with so many wild flowers and birds singing,Historic area that still retains an innocent community where wonderful environmental projects and care for the community are evident.Small shops and gorgeous cafes-sadly the lovely museu is closed at present but will open again soon. So looking forward to returning. Did I mention The Lamb and Flag great evening meal? Lovely.

Good central location and we were able to bring our dog. Nice busy pub, nice staff, good food

Hot due to the sun, needed a fan as was too noisy to sleep with window open. Bathroom was tired and therefore didn’t seem clean - pipes thick dust, floor grubby

We really enjoyed our stay. i read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor and would say, you have to expect some noise if you stay in a pub. Its part of the atmosphere. It felt as if we were living as part of Rhayader while we were there. The Ty Morgan empire, of which the Lamb and Flag is part provides different experiences in the cafe, the Crown and the Lamb and Flag itself. Breakfast in the cafe, a broad menu in the Crown and good pub food in the Lamb and Flag. Chosse what you want when you want it. Rooms were comfortable, TV was fine, Staff were lovely and helpful, Beer was good, too, in both the lamb and Flag and the Crown, In fact, Rhayader is for CAMRA members. So many beers on offer in different pubs!

WiFi could have been better.A lot better! Could do with instructions on the heating, but not that difficult to work out. Traffic noise early in the morning. I like it, but if youre a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I loved the pub experience, but be sure you know what that means. Youre not paying to stay in a US-style hotel chain, youre paying to have one foot in the community. The bar is a sports bar. If you want saunas and pamperong, go somewhere else. If you like your beer and banter with the locals, this is for you/

I liked the staff and that the pub is situated right in the middle of rhayader town to the room was nice and the bed was well comfy to and a good price to

The people stopping in room number 2 had no consideration for other guests. Using bad language banging around at quarter past six in the morning to. But I don't hold this against the staff there. These other guests was old enough to behave and conduct thereselves better.

Staff were friendly. Room was clean and had everything needed for a short stay. It was a larger room than I was expecting. Excellent value for money.

It was very hot upon arrival and took a long time to cool to a comfortable level. WiFi was intermittent.

The room was very clean, warm, comfortable and nicely decorated with tea making facilities. The bed was very comfortable and I slept really well The bathroom was clean with nice towels and soap/shampoo and plenty of hot water once you let the shower run for a few minutes as it was a hot water tank fed shower There was a cosy bar and restaurant which I did not go into as I was to tired but the food looked good and a nice choice of beers and a CTV covered car park at the side It was excellent value for money and I will definitely stay there again in the near future

Nothing really,if I was to be picky my room was on the front which is a main road through the town and that may bother some people but not me There are room to the rear for the property as well if you are sensitive to traffic noise
