This was absolutely a wonderful bed and breakfast inn, very quaint and comfortable. The staff is exceptional - very helpful and available. Their grounds are quite lovely: a running stream, picnic areas where they have BBQ offerings as well as regular menu items and a full bar. The Pembroke Arms guest lounge is also very inviting and comfortable. Their breakfast is superb, and for Americans, the fresh French press coffee every morning was most wonderful. The location was only 3 miles from Salisbury Cathedral - most doable by getting the City Centre bus only a few steps from the Inn’s front door.

There was nothing not to like.

Dining spaces on the property: barn, outdoor, dining area. Comfy beds & warm comforters. Warm cookies and a canister of milk upon checkin. Water kettle in room with teas & French press for ground coffee in the room. Four bottle of water for the evening. The food was delicious and the menus were well thought out & portions were generous! The grassy garden area is absolutely beautiful with a stream a running by the back; a wonderful space for my kids to run.

Older carpeting in room felt grimy. The pictures of people in the bathroom was a bit creepy. Location was not walkable to anything nearby but, plenty of parking & good for prearranged taxi-ing to Stonehenge & Salisbury town center.

first class experience. Very friendly staff with 'nothing too much trouble' attitude - seriously impressed. Room delightful and comfortable and supper and breakfast delicious - thoroughly memorable stay

All was fabulous. When next you are doing a refurb and the question of room names comes up, why not mix it up a bit. We stayed in the second floor 'Orangery' - there's a first. How about names of places on the Estate 'Fugglestone' etc ... or coach house related names 'postillion', 'phaeton' etc - just a thought (not a critcism)

Special thanks to the friendly lady of the reception. There was a payment issue and because I am a foreigner, things can get confusing because of the language barrier. I could rely on some extra patience from staff to resolve the issue. She was very patient and understanding, which was very nice. No wonder this hotel has such high review points, if there would be any issues, I am sure they would be resolved right away. The room I stayed in was great, large comfy bed, a table for doing some work, spotless bathroom and a whole arsenal of body wash, shampoo conditioner stuff. Nothing to complain about and more than fairly priced, especially considering breakfast is included.

Cosy country manor house style preserved. Staff easy going, friendly and helpful. Decoration quirky and appropriate. A lot of historic prints that do much for the atmosphere, with old comics and magazines in various corners as wallpaper. By coincidence our en suite bathroom had Magazine pages of the time of Queen Elizabeth's Coronation. A surprising and topical "read"! It would be criminal not to mention the Heavenly Beef pies and a stunning rhubarb dessert

The rhubarb dessert shrank from "my size" to almost normal not for gluttons size in three days!

Beautiful room and building. Historic and very clean. Beautiful and many food options. Delicious food and staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. They went out there way to make us happy.

People with mobility issues may need to choose something else due to the historic building not having a downstairs room. HOWEVER, they were very upfront about that, and helped my semi disabled mother up the stairs and helped us carry luggage. So there was nothing I disliked about that, just a heads up for those who need to know. Also parking is free but limited, especially when the restaurants are open for the public (the food is delish!!!)

Lovely place to stay. The staff were very helpful and the different areas for eating & drinking inside & outside were really lovely. The room was a good size and there was an excellent choice of breakfasts. The shortbread and cold milk for the bedroom were a lovely touch too. Overall a lovely experience.

Very clean hotel comfortable room, breakfast excellent lots of choice and the option of a smaller full English which was more than sufficient, very well located for touring the area, pleasant and efficient staff.

The food in the restaurant was we felt a little over priced with a small choice portions were on the generous size and a little bit over-facing, smaller portion option possibly? We were a little surprised at the service charge 12.5% which had been added directly to the food/drinks bill it is a little uncomfortable asking for this to be removed or adjusted I wold normally add 10% to my bill prior to paying, the staff were very pleasant. Is the norm for the area?

Old fashioned charm. The tea tray had coffee and cafetiere as well as tea and teapot and a bag with two divine chocolate brownies. Breakfast was amazing, including a ginger and turmeric shot to boost the start of the day. Staff were incredibly helpful.

Faultless. Even though bedroom looked out over the restaurant, the double glazing kept noise to a minimum.

The food was very well presented. We could see the chefs making raised mutton pie when we arrived. My husband had it for dinner. A whole pie! I had lamb. Very tender. Very generous portions. Beside the dining room, there is a outside tented area which serves food. We had lunch there. It has a great young vibe. Lots of young people and families enjoying the more informal atmosphere.

Heavy unexpected rain caused some logistic problems for eating in the tent on the second night. We retreated indoors!
