It was a gorgeous blend of historical character and modern amenities along with a pub/beer garden, and a phenomenal restaurant! I will recommend this property to anyone that Iknow who will be traveling to England/London

The only issue we had was that after the restaurant and pub closed the side of the hotel where are kids were sleeping could not be accessed by us because we did not have a key to get into that side of the hotel. It would not have been a problem for us at all until I had an asthma attack and my inhaler was accidentally left in our kiddos room. My hubby used the fire escape and it set off the fire alarm, which we were very sorry about, but it stopped after about 15 minutes.

This was a trip down memory lane for us as we used to live in Colnbrook. Stunning hotel steeped in history 👌 😍 ❤. Comfy beds, clean room, lovely dinners and breakfasts and reasonably priced too. Staff were exceptionally good 👍 particularly Cherry and Niva. Thank you all for a wonderful stay. Looking forward to our next trip.

Only 1 thing missing from room 8 and that would be perhaps a net curtain in the bathroom. That would save having to pull the blackout blind down when using it. Other than that very small issue, nothing wrong with room.

We still talk about how fascinating The Ostrich Inn is and talk about it fondly. We are so grateful we got stay there and learn of the Inn's incredible history. And one not so heart-warming period in its colourful past when travellers met a truly nasty end. The staff were very accommodating when we had to make changes to our rooms. We had an issue with parking, and they cleared it up for us within 24 hours.

Everything was great except for one thing - Not one of us had a "ghost" experience.

The location is relatively close to Heathrow- 15 minute drive. The building was first built centuries ago but has been well updated. Rooms were modern and clean. Our room had enough space to be able to spread out our suitcases for repacking. They had true double windows to limit road noise. They price without breakfast included but offer it. This benefits those needed to leave early for a flight. They even give suggestions on a local store to buy breakfast supplies to start early. The food was very good with large servings. They had a usable desk - ideal for a laptop.

How room had a modern shower - very nice - but opening directly in bedroom with no privacy.

Staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Food was lovely. Free parking. The pub is of great historical interest. Enjoyed watching lots of aircraft coming into land at nearby Heathrow Airport whilst sitting in the beer garden.

The bed itself was lovely with very clean, crisp white sheets. The floor to our room, however was very sloped, which made the bed sloped. I felt like I was going to fall out and this kept me awake most of the night. It also caused me to have back ache in the morning from constantly having to move back up the bed and my back muscles being tense trying not to fall out.

After an awful stay at a very expensive hotel (The Retreat at Elcot Park) the night before, we were delighted with everything we found at The Ostrich. Our reservation was just as we had requested, the staff were very nice, many locals who were at the pub took time to talk with us and tell us the history of the hotel, and the breakfast was probably the best we had on the trip! Such a charming old hotel...and so close to Heathrow. Going forward, if I need a hotel for my first or last night in England, this is where I will stay!

I can't complain about anything - this was a perfect stay.

Old style pub with pleasant staff, reminded me of what pubs used to be like (which I really liked) nice cosy real fire as well, food was good quality with generous portions, room was cosy too with everything you needed. The breakfast was cooked fresh and was lovely too.

The area of the pub where the TV was, was cold, customers were sat with their coats on, this made my food go cold very quickly, the pub has tried to make this area warmer by installing a glass vestibule but as it did not go to the ceiling the cold air went straight over the top, this did not spoil my enjoyment of the pub or the accommodation, but I'm sure if the vestibule was more efficient it would make this area more comfortable for customers to sit and eat in.

We chose to stay here to be close to the airport for our outbound flight. What a delightful place! there has been an inn at this location since 1106. The building looks to be about 1500's and it has all the quirks and charm you would wish to find in a historical property. There is a restaurant and pub area on the ground floor (yummy food!) The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and very modern. It looks like they updated it just a few years ago. The staff was very friendly. we met some lovely folks while in the restaurant. There was a very local neighborhood feel. This is a great place near Heathrow.

I can't complain about anything. It was a great place to stay. Keep up the good work.

This is a very old pub which has not been "gastropub-ed". The bars were populated by ( I assume ) local people having an ordinary evening out. It was lively but not rowdy. The Tudor structure - beams and low ceilings were visible but the last refurb is ageing too and perhaps not sympathetic to modern styling. Overall, though, the effect is to really give a feeling of a working hostelry - what it has been like over the centuries and really links you to the past - without any of the discomforts! I'm tired of "luxury" hotels, this is comfortable, clean and real. The staff were all pleasant, the service prompt. I was sorry I arrived too late to eat there but the beer was well kept. The shower was hot and powerful, the bed excellent, the room warm, the linen soft and the sheets clean. The breakfast was simple and a limited choice but I really enjoyed my eggs Benedict Royale. Despite Heathrow taking off westwards the aircraft noise was surprisingly unobtrusive. It is the first time registering at an hotel I have been offered a session with a psychic medium - part of the Halloween weekend entertainment I assume. The management did not ask me to write a nice review, but a notice in the corridor told of a previous landlord who murdered sixty residents by tipping them sleeping into boiling water so I shan't risk being too negative! I cannot confirm its claim to be the most haunted pub in Britain - I slept peacefully as a weary traveller with a pint of good beer in him should! Many thanks.

The shower silicone was a bit mouldy, the shower head holder needed tightening, minor inconveniences compared to those no doubt suffered by many travellers resting there since King John visited. The room looked onto the village high street not busy but I did hear the cars that passed, but only noticed in the morning the secondary glazing was not shut - closing it reduced the noise dramatically. The village isn't pretty though there are other old buildings - it is airport hinterland after all.

Historic coaching Inn, close to Heathrow T5. Buss stop 100 metres away with regular buses to terminal, 11 minute journey.
