The room was perfect for an overnight stay prior to catching an early ferry. There was parking in a car park directly outside the room. The room was basic, with a bed, 2 chairs and the means to make a hot drink, but this was exactly what was required The bed was very comfortable, but the only slight niggle is the duvet was too heavy for July which was slightly uncomfortable. The hotel was quiet apart from an early morning seagull, but that was not the hotel's fault! And it was ideally situated for an evening meal near the centre of town. I would definitely use this place again.

The room was clean, comfortable and because entry was from the car park felt private. The area was quiet and was within walking distance to shops and places to eat. The host was excellent and made sure we knew to call if we needed any extra towels etc or if there was a problem ( which we didn't need to do). We were within short driving distance to some beautiful areas and had an amazing time here,

There wasn't really anything we didn't like

Sandy was very friendly and helpful. Good location very near to a supermarket and restaurants. Accommodation was clean, warm, comfortable and well equipped. Electric Shower provided a good hot water supply. On site parking was handy. Overall good value for money.

En suite bathroom was not the largest but it was adequate.

The beds were very comfy. Actual mugs with the tea and coffee facilities. 15 minutes drive from Cairnryan. A couple of minutes walk away from a very reasonably priced Italian restaurant. On site parking. Perfect for an overnight stay before the ferry. Didn't actually meet any staff. There was a phone number to ring. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

Some of the facilities could do with an update.

The Thistle Inn is clean, the facilities are great, it is very close to the shops and restaurants in Stranraer and it is well located for the Cairnryan ferries. Plus, it is excellent value for money.

The walls are quite thin, I could hear a guest in the room next door talking until after 11pm. However, there are notices reminding guests to keep the noise down and they do provide earplugs, so the staff have done the best they can.

Room was cozy and very clean. Sandy the owner was so lovely and very helpful. Told us to park the Harley under his living room window away from view. Also, if there was anything we needed, i.e.,more towels, etc, just ask.

There was nothing at all to dislike about the Thistle Inn.

Cleanliness and availability for the early morning traveller

I arrived at 02:30, as I'd made my way over on the last boat from Larne.i was dismayed to find the place locked up tight and had to use a bit of lateral thinking to look round the back. All's well in the long run however. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Just want to say thank you, I and my daughter have good night's sleep, clean room and bathroom ,have car parking space. We are lots travelling a day time easy back very good location. Thank you xx

I love coffee, I'm little bit fussy but that just me. Coffee is not good sorry.

The rooms were small and basic but very clean and served our purposes perfectly. We just needed somewhere to rest over night before boarding the ferry to Ireland. The location was perfect. I was travelling with disabled pensioners, their room suited them perfectly. All the rooms were on the ground floor and we could park easily and see our vehicles overnight so we slept soundly.

We were a family of 4 and two OAP's. Accommodation was tight for a family of 4 in one room with only a double and a single. However we managed and we had plenty of hot water. Decoration, 80's style, a little out of date but definately value for money.

I like the setup of having your own external door and the fact that it's a private car park tucked away off the main street. The room was clean and comfortable.

I could hear the conversations in the next room and was woken in the night by someone snoring. That being said, there is a notice on the wall asking guests to be curious. This hasn't put me off. I will book again. I will bring earplugs next time.
