The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast food choices and quality was good. The bed was nice and large, with lots of socket outlets in the room and even built in USB charging ports.

The Android TV was a little small at 32 Inches, could do with at least a 40 inch full HD smart TV. The TV was not connected to the internet so streaming \ online channels could not watched. The bathroom lighting was a little weak, and the shower door was leaky in that particular room. To be fair none of these aspects mentioned was a real issue.

The hotel was clean, and comfortable. Free parking outside the front door is a huge bonus. The food was excellent. The TV in my room had no remote control. I informed reception and they were unable to replace it despite extensive searches and multiple attempts with remotes from other rooms, so they moved me to another room which was a slight upgrade. The bed was comfortable. The location was excellent for my stay for the Thatcham research centre.

See the above, the TV remote issue was a bit of an issue, and moving rooms after I unpacked wasnt ideal, but no real issue. The bar was closed for my stay as the place was being deep cleaned, but the local shops had sufficient supplies!

clean, quiet, great location for our requirements. nice breakfast, staff that were there were nice. if anything they were perhaps a little understaffed but there were not many people staying so that could be just sensible economics.

the only thing was, the tv in our room had a life of its own. it was on when we arrived, it was on again when we came back to the room later, then came on unexpectedly at about 6 in the morning when we were sleeping. it wasn’t a big deal, having known it was on twice before, I kept the remote on the bedside cabinet but I am great at going back to sleep!

Room was quite nicely appointed and comfortable. Grounds are very pleasant and warrant a short walk of discovery. Service was generally good.

Due to a very small guest list they kept the restaurant shut and meals were served in the bar. We booked the restaurant and received an email confirmation - nobody told us that it would be shut. Food was not properly hot when served but otherwise was okay.

All areas met with my expectations. The breakfast was a great start to the day Comfortable bed.

When arriving for dinner I had to book I was involved I had to wait 15 minutes before I was allowed in. However, the restaurant had 6 people eating and multiple spaces available. Therefore, rather frustrated as to why I couldn’t sit, especially when I return to the same amount of people sitting at the tables. Very strange approach you have adopted there.

The staff were all very helpful, the hotel was ideally located for the wedding we were attending, the room was spacious, the breakfast was good value with a wide selection and the bed was very comfy. There were plenty of places to sit to have a drink and a chat, and the free tea and coffee machine was a welcome surprise.

Some of the fixtures and fittings were a little tired and in need of replacement e g. the armchair in our room. Our room (118) was also very close to what we think was the air conditioning/heating machinery for the hotel. It was quite noisy at times which disturbed our sleep a little. We also found a discarded pair of mens underwear in our wardrobe which were underneath one of the spare towels. This suggested that the room may not have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival although everything else suggested it had at least been serviced.

Pleasant surroundings and very quiet. It has an air of an older elegant age of hotels rather than the more modern conveyor belt type of convenience hotel. Reception was very friendly. Food was a cut above other chains and good value for money and the waiter at evening meal was lovely. Room was decorated nicely and bed was very comfortable.

My single observation is that the room I was in had a few signs of needing a little bit of attention. The shower room was looking a little worn - not a problem for me, but some guests might be less forgiving.

Lovely big car park with free car parking, easy check in with friendly staff, a lift to get to the second floor. Clean room with large sized bed. Free Wifi. Had a bath as well as a shower. Has 2 E.V. chargers in the car park.

Found some body hairs in my freshly laundered towel when i shook it out which wasnt very nice. £12.50 each for breakfast is too much to pay as an additional charge.

Loved the hotel, the room we were allocated was great. it was very clean throughout. The guy on reception when we arrived was great in the evening.

the menu was very limited which I found strange as I have stayed in other Mecure hotels and the menu was varied and more appealing. if you liked spicy food you were okay but if you didn’t like it like me unable to eat it you had about 3 options. The breakfast staff were absent they bought a menu to our table, then we had to go in search of her, as breakfast was coming to a close, she was chatting in reception to the receptionist and one other member of staff. Before our breakfast arrived she then turned off the toaster and closed down other parts so we were left short.

Gteat car park, no curfew, warm & welcoming staff, blackout curtains, large bathroom with shower & a deep bath with also good water pressure & consistent water temperature. Great location too! Also, they kindly put us on a room away from the bar area where a function was.

Only a very few minor issues regarding the hairdryer, bath plug & tv remote - however the staff were very understanding & fixed them all promptly.
