Replacing the previous review as since we were last here it's no longer a Best Western hotel but a Crest hotel. The hotel is still as dated and rundown as it was before but the wallpaper has now been painted, I presume in an attempt to freshen it up a little. Unfortunately it just gives the appearance of a hotel that's bereft of funds. The rooms are still spacious. Shower is good with plenty of hot water. Mattress was poor, linen ok. Room had an iron and ironing board which was very handy. Tea and coffee facilities. Still no Aircon. The room was exceptionally tired and dated. Bathroom needed stripping out. Breakfast was full English and continental which was good apart from the orange "juice" which was vile. HOWEVER, the cost for two staying overnight with breakfast included and free parking was £80, and for that you really can't complain. I'd rather stay here than the local Premier Inn. The catch 22 is if they spent millions refurbishing the entire hotel (which it needs) and put the price up to £150 per night, charged for breakfast and parking in order to recover the costs, I'd go elsewhere.

The location, the bar meals and the accessibility between the car park and the bedroom were all important to us as we were travelling with dogs. We were able to park right outside our window and keep an eye on our dogs. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The tables and especially the bar were sticky. This was explained as being residue from the sanitising spray but Covid was 4 years ago. The alcohol based spray has imo melted the varnish so it needs sanding down and reapplying as it’s really rather unpleasant. Also it was very hot in the bar - last time we stayed, the doors were opened and it was much better. The curtains in the bedroom were rather shabby and the bathroom is pretty tired.

I liked the friendliness of the staff. The they were very helpful catering for both me and my dog. A towel bowel and 2 large bonios were in the room, and biscuits were available at reception. I requested a downstairs room wth a disabled shower. This was good but I haven't got the nack of not letting leak under the folding door. The second time I requested a downstairs room with a bath. This was ideal with easy access to the back carpark for the dog and at the end of a passage so she was undisturbed. For those reading this review who might be allergic to dogs, specific rooms are dog friendly. There is a lounge area where people can eat with their dogs I prefer to be at a table and had my favourite table with a view over the front carpark.
A little more help with luggage however I did not request any help.

So I was a little worried because the pictures made it look very outdated but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was absolutely massive and the shower power was amazing. We had everything we needed. The staff were wonderful especially Karen on the Front desk and the lady at breakfast this morning. The beds and pillows were very comfortable I didn’t want to get up! They went above and beyond. Breakfast was served until 10am and we got there at 9.45 so wasn’t much left but what was left was lovely. Loads of choices for breakfast and it’s an absolute bargain. I would 💯 come back here. Thank you so much you gave us the best start to our holiday.
I don’t want to moan but there was dust all over the tissue box in the bathroom and in the wardrobe that has been missed but everything else was perfect and very clean.

We arranged to have our wedding and reception at this venue. It was a brilliant choice, the staff worked so hard preparing everything for us. We used both event rooms upstairs, the smaller for the ceremony and the larger for the wedding breakfast and evening do, the dancefloor was great. The chef and events coordinator worked with us ahead of the event to arrange a great menu, our guests all commented how good the food was. The bedrooms were warm and comfortable with everything you needed. The location was perfect. All our guests travelled from around the country and overseas, all booked to stay in the hotel due to convenience and value. As the hotel is in town most guests took advantage of down time to look around Tiverton. It was excellent value for money and we would highly recommend the Tiverton hotel.
The decor throughout is a little tired and dated.

We use this hotel often. Nowadays it is run on a very small number of staff. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage, chairs and tables. Bathrooms are in need of refurbishment as are lots of the carpets in corridors and dining room. The beds are comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities are in room but often haven’t been refilled so sometimes have to go to reception. Cooked breakfast is usually very good but the staff don’t react quickly to empty serving plates.
Nowadays they try to charge a deposit of £20 but having paid everything in advance already through booking.com I refused telling them that if I wanted any extras I would pay as I needed to. I had to sign a waiver.

Nestled on the outskirts of Tiverton, in the heart of the picturesque Devon countryside, lies the exquisite Tiverton Hotel Lounge. While the hotel may exude a slightly dated charm, do not let this deter you from experiencing its unparalleled hospitality. From the moment you step foot into the grand foyer, you will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome by the esteemed Siu and his exceptional team, who spare no effort in ensuring your stay is nothing short of extraordinary. During my visit, I was informed that the hotel's renowned restaurant was temporarily closed due to the arrival of two coach parties. However, this minor setback did not hinder the hotel's commitment to providing delectable cuisine. To my delight, the accommodating staff offered to serve meals in the bar area, where I indulged in a culinary journey that surpassed all expectations for a venue of this standard. The menu boasted an array of tantalizing dishes, expertly prepared using the finest ingredients, resulting in a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight. Furthermore, the prices were remarkably reasonable, making every bite a true feast for the senses. As I retired to my room, I found the accommodations to be both practical and comfortable, albeit showcasing a touch of age. The mattress and pillows provided a blissful respite, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration. However, for the warmer summer months, I would recommend the hotel consider offering thinner quilts to enhance the comfort of their esteemed guests. Despite this minor suggestion, I would not hesitate to choose the Tiverton Hotel Lounge as my preferred abode should I find myself in the area once again. Its unparalleled hospitality, coupled with its convenient location, make it an ideal choice for discerning travellers seeking a retreat amidst the captivating beauty of Devon.

We were only staying 1 night while passing through on the way elsewhere but the hotel was very conveniently located close to the main roads so easy to find. The room was HUGE and really comfortable and they had custard creams as a snack in the room! The room was clean and the breakfast was lovely with a wide range available, the small pastries (croissant, pain au chocolat and pain au raisins) were delicious.
We were on the ground floor at the front of the hotel overlooking the car park and there was quite bright lighting that the black out curtains didn't fully block out but after a long journey they didn't keep me aware for too long.

Basic hotel but excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. Clean large family room and free parking. Good choice for Breakfast, fresh and well cooked hot options plus continental. Warm plates, hot coffee and choice of non dairy milks. Great value for the price would stay again. Excellent budget family and dog friendly hotel. We would have eaten in the restaurant in the evening but no vegan options (only a tomatoe pizza). Not a problem for us but would have been an opportunity to increased our spend at the hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming, everyone we came across had a smile and said hello.

Our stay at Tiverton Hotel Lounge & Venue was unexpected and booked last minute. The hotel was very well located for our road trip, being close to major roads. Our room was excellent and very comfortable. Although we arrived after dinner, we did check out the onsite restaurant and bar, which looked very nice. Breakfast in the dining room was very good.
Renovations were being done to some rooms and public areas, but this will only be a short-term issue, and did not affect our stay in any way.
