Good location in the countryside. Friendly staff and locals. Pub had good atmosphere with locals in the bar and restaurant. Bedroom was refurbished tastefully and very clean. Food in restaurant was amazing.

The pub is closed Monday. This meant we were offered toast and marmalade we could make ourselves or a bacon roll delivered to our room. This was a disappointment after the delicious full breakfast the day before.

The full English offered for breakfast was excellent. The staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly. The newly refurbished rooms were very comfortable, clean and thoughtfully equipped, plentiful hot water in the shower and tea and coffee tray with large cups appreciated! The restaurant area is very relaxing and typical country pub with outdoor seating. Food is good pub standard and prices as expected. Lovely location on the edge of a pretty village in rolling countryside, big carpark. Convenient for The Corn Barn party venue.

Important to remember this is a pub not a hotel and set your expectations accordingly. Bear in mind it’s reached by some very narrow Devon lanes!

The location is very secluded and peaceful after a long days driving and working. The pub is very welcoming and friendly. Even though the restaurant wasn't open the bar menu was absolutely fine, the gammon I had was probably the nicest I've had. The staff were very efficient but laid back at the same time. My room was very comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. The locals made you feel very welcome as well.

My only thought was my breakfast was a full cooked English, but I cannot remember being asked if I had any other thoughts on choice of breakfast. However what I had was lovely and well cooked and presented. Thank you, I'll be back.

Staff were lovely and great communication in advance of our stay. Really helpful. Superb family room; was more like a suite of rooms! Spotlessly clean. Very good evening meal in the restaurant.

The room was noisy until quite late as above the pub entrance. To be fair, we knew it was a pub... we probably should have realised... No chef at breakfast - only staff around was a really lovely housekeeper who got us coffee and found us some cereals - but we had a long wait before we could eat our hot food and get back on the road for our onward journey. It was a shame there were no self-serve cereals, toast, or juice left out as that would have been helpful.

This was our second visit to the Butterleigh Inn, which is under new management. We found the refurbished room very comfortable and the staff were very obliging.

We were disappointed by our dining experience. We had booked a table for 7.30 and our order was taken at about 7.45, the waitress did say there might be a delay but we had to wait until 8.45 for our meal. The staff did apologise and gave us some olives to nibble and the chef apologised and gave us free coffee but the wait spoiled our dining experience. Lack of choice at breakfast was another disappointment, it was full English or nothing. No fruit juice, no cereal, no toast and marmalade, no choice of what you were served on the full English plate.

The food in the bar was very, very good. If you take your dog, you have to eat in the bar (normal practice, so dog owners should expect this). On a Friday night, the bar can be quite noisy and busy, but that also means the place is popular so just go with the flow! The cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning is wonderful!! It's so much nicer to have a personal touch rather than a buffet breakfast which is invariably cold and overcooked.

I have mobility issues - the stairs to the bar area and then back to the bedrooms can be a challenge to those who are less mobile than others. I would like to know how they deal with wheelchair users. Maybe the solution would be to provide a dedicated easy access room?

The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The choice of bar food was limited but the quality was excellent. The breakfast offered little choice (full English only) but was delicious. The room was clean and comfortable. The village was quiet and peaceful. We loved it that the locals use the pub which gave a great feel.

Towels missing from room but they were delivered as soon as we notified the staff. There was nowhere in the bathroom to hang the towels (towel rail) or clothing (hook on the door).

The room was tastefully decorated and VERY comfortable. Terrificly comfortable beds. Beyond that, the owner Kuz went out of her way to help me. I was ill and with the help of Lillia, they took wonderful care of my husband while I was in hospital. I can't thank them enough for their care of us both. We highly recommend this Inn. The location was in a very picturesque section of Devon. They even organized a Dr to visit me in our roon.

Nothing, a wondered Inn.

I can do no better than endorse another review which said "We stayed overnight the beds were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep, we went in the bar for a meal and we could not fault it. I had the steak and ale pie the steak just melted in my mouth and so lean, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was spot on and cooked to perfection even had black pudding, we would recommend this lovely pub/ B&B and will definitely stay again, also dog friendly." We stayed 5 nights. The countryside round about is beautiful and places like the Grand Western Canal and Knighthayes are well worth visiting.

Our only problem was the narrow roads which we were not used to drivingn- access via Tiverton wwas definitely easier than via Cullompton
