Location was fab ,bar staff were friendly and accommodating especially Kay ,drinks were reasonable price, reception staff were helpful also, entertainment was ok more for elderly people more so, rooms were big we stayed in delux on first floor ,we never ate there so can't comment on that ,on the hole I was happy with my stay ,I would book again ,no dislikes

Beds I found were quite hard and pillows were also ,for us ,but it's just general choice,no toiletries as such a push soap on wall but didn't work ,rooms were quite hot ,I would definitely stay again tho due to location & staff

Check-in and check-out was very easy, the reception staff who greeted us on both of those occasions were incredibly nice and helpful, really warm and welcoming and it was a pleasure to have spoken to them. The room itself was very spacious, great view, clean to a good standard, WiFi was also reliable. Perfect location, right by everything you’d need.

The bathroom could’ve done with a little more ventilation as the window in there didn’t open. The staff member who was on the desk late at night was unreasonably rude, condescending and miserable, to the point where it affected the rest of our stay; when we checked out it was the same staff member who checked us in (who couldn’t have been more lovely), and had we not had the experience we did earlier in the night, we would’ve stuck around to chat a bit, we also would’ve had breakfast, but that guy really left us with a bad taste in our mouths.

I'd stayed here just two weeks prior, so I knew what to expect. The location is right by Torquay harbour so there are plenty of bars and restaurants very close by, and plenty to see and do. The hotel has very limited parking facilities, but there are public car parks very close by that I believe the hotel has permits for. There are also bus stops right outside the door, and a taxi rank just over the road. My room was comfortable, very clean, but quite basic. It was also at the back of the hotel so didn't have any view whatsoever, but all I really needed was a bed for the night and a bathroom so it was absolutely fine for me. For the price that I paid, it was excellent value. I sure there are better rooms available, particularly at the front of the hotel. The reception and bar/lounge area was spacious and pleasant, and the staff were very friendly. The last time I stayed I opted not to have breakfast and instead go to the Weatherspoons just around the corner. That was a mistake that I didn't want to repeat this time because although Weatherspoons was cheaper, the hotel breakfast was much better quality and in my opinion, better value. The buffet breakfast had a range of fruit, yogurts, cereals, and juices, as well as the usual cooked full-english breakfast items. Tea and/or coffee was served at my table in a pot.

For the price, there isn't really anything not to like. I would happily stay here again.

This hotel was similar to a certain chain, breakfast was buffet style with lovely staff who were there to help, everything was cleared away and refilled quickly, there was a lovely area for evening drinks and staff were very friendly who served us. Our room was really nice size and clean, bed was comfortable and extra pillows there if wanted them.

Water pressure is weak - nothing they can do about but you have to turn tap all way to get water out of shower could do with replacing. Towels small so would take my own next time but this is preference. Hotel corridors could do with some airing as has that shut up smell but none of these spoilt our stay here and will return next year.

We stay as a group every year just for a few nights, the staff are friendly and helpful (good communication) rooms are clean with tea and coffee tray comfy bed, location is excellent the parking is cheap at £6 for 24hrs (you'll need to pop in reception for a token on arrival) carpark is next door. Breakfast was cooked well and lovely bacon only thing missing was alittle crossiant or cake but again staff lovely! For the money we are always pleased with our stay.

The only thing I would say is we came in late and asked for the room keys for a few rooms and it was just given over no questions asked ,i think for security the surname should be asked :) Also better quality toilet roll

It is in a great location, close to the town and harbour. We had a family room which was a wonderful size and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

There is no on site parking so you need to use the multi storey car park which is close by. The hotel do give you a special pass but you need to go to the hotel first to collect it and there is no where to park outside the hotel. Its no big issue but its something worth knowing before you go.

The location is right on the sea front. I had a single room with a fabulous sea view. The room was plenty big enough with a comfortable sized en suite complete with a bath. The water was always lovely and hot. The room was lovely and warm with a sash window that could be opened for fresh air. The breakfast was very good, super cooked bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes and baked beans. Fresh fruit, yogurt and toast were available with fruit juices and coffee. The dining room was large and spacious.

The hotel is an old building and having a room on the front did make it a little noisy, perhaps some double glazing would help and replace the rather tired paint work. But being an older hotel it has lots of charm and character.

The staff we all lovely especially Simon who was hilarious and really friendly despite him having to keep sorting out the lift problems Aslo the lady in the bar in the evening was great And the location of the hotel was perfect

The lift constantly broke down , we were on the top floor , fortunately we were a lot younger than the majority of the quests , I imagine that an awful lot of guests would have had problems with the stairs. Also I was unhappy that we were only given the option of scrambled eggs with the breakfast. It was just a big bowl of over cooked eggs that looked and tasted like rubber , the rest of the breakfast was OK

Spacious room overlooking the town/harbour with nesting seagull outside as a bonus. Breakfast hot , tasty & fresh. All staff very friendly & helpful ,Man on the desk in the evenings especially. Bar staff & all waiting staff were efficient . Location just perfect , had a lovely time visiting family, shopping & walking.

Yes the lift is slow & another would be very welcome but this is such a minor thing. Will be stopping again.
